Lian Ji embraced Ying Kong Shi, noting how much he had grown in just a few months, and offered him spiritual medicine. While tending to him, she discovered whip marks on his back. Though Ying Kong Shi downplayed it, Lian Ji suspected the Fire Princess, Yan Da. He then inadvertently used magic, which astonished Lian Ji. She confronted him, asking why he hid his power and didn't fight back against Yan Da.
Ying Kong Shi tried to postpone the conversation, but Lian Ji pressed him, suspecting he was involved in a plan with Ka Suo. Ying Kong Shi claimed he was hiding his magic from Huo Yi to avoid being seen as a threat and to ensure their peace. Lian Ji emphatically stated she cared nothing for the Ice Tribe or who ruled the Three Realms, only for Ying Kong Shi's safety.
She begged him to promise not to help Ka Suo oppose Huo Yi, warning that Huo Yi was ruthless and would kill anyone in his path. She just wanted them to be safe together. In Xing Jiu's dream, Yue Shen, Liao Jian, Xing Jiu, and Ying Kong Shi gathered to discuss their plans. Yue Shen confirmed it was indeed a dream by noting the absence of a skunk smell she had acquired earlier.
Xing Jiu relayed a message from the Mermaid Saint, indicating that Ying Kong Shi and Lan Shang had been taken to the City of Bladed Snow ahead of schedule, accelerating their plans. Ying Kong Shi reassured the group, stating that Lan Shang had successfully captured Huo Yi's attention, and he would proceed with his plan to impersonate Lan Shang and assassinate Huo Yi. Yue Shen then feigned an attack on Ying Kong Shi, which Liao Jian swiftly intercepted.
Yue Shen explained her action, emphasizing that to defeat Huo Yi in one strike, they needed to find his true weakness, as the conventional weak spot at the back of a god's head was too heavily guarded. Ying Kong Shi acknowledged that even with his improved magic, a direct approach would fail. Liao Jian then suggested a solution, recalling that during battles, Fire Tribe soldiers were protected by a "Spiderweb of Fire" seal.
Identifying and destroying this seal on Huo Yi would be the key to his defeat. Li Luo and Qiu Tiannian continued their search for herbs. Qiu Tiannian suggested Li Luo return, but Li Luo insisted on staying. Suddenly, Qiu Tiannian used Ice Tribe magic to prevent Li Luo from leaving, intending to knock her out to keep the plan a secret.
Ka Suo arrived just in time to stop their struggle, recognizing Qiu Tiannian as his Grandma Feng Tian Po Po due to her unique touch and magical ice-blade. Feng Tian Po Po expressed her heartbreak over Ka Suo's current state.
Ka Suo then deduced that Ying Kong Shi had arranged this elaborate ruse: Feng Tian Po Po, disguised as Qiu Tiannian, was to trick him into believing there was a way to restore his powers, only to take him away from Mermaid Island and ensure he never returned to the City of Bladed Snow, all for his freedom. Feng Tian Po Po confirmed that Ying Kong Shi desired Ka Suo's freedom.
However, Ka Suo refused to abandon Ying Kong Shi or his family, declaring that true freedom for him lay with them. With the ten-day deadline approaching, he insisted on returning to the City of Bladed Snow. Feng Tian Po Po, bound by her promise to Ying Kong Shi, initially refused. Li Luo, as a realm guardian, pledged to follow Ka Suo's wishes to return.
Ka Suo, convinced he had a way to defeat Huo Yi, implored Feng Tian Po Po to believe in his last remaining hope and take him back. Shuo Gang relentlessly pursued Lan Shang, wanting to marry her and dragging her to confront the Fire King. However, the Fire King pre-empted him, declaring his intention to marry Princess Lan Shang himself during his upcoming ascension ceremony. This enraged Shuo Gang, who felt his claim was usurped and challenged his father.
Ying Kong Shi subtly intervened, suggesting that Lan Shang should have the ultimate say. Understanding his intent, Lan Shang, recalling Liao Jian's explanation of the Fire Tribe's "Spiderweb of Fire" seal and its critical vulnerability, stated that the Mermaid Saint wished her to marry the strongest god. She then cleverly proposed a duel between the Fire King and Shuo Gang to determine who was the stronger. The Fire King agreed, allowing Shuo Gang three attacks.
As they battled, Ying Kong Shi meticulously observed, and after the Fire King effortlessly defeated Shuo Gang within three moves, Ying Kong Shi successfully pinpointed the Fire King's "Spiderweb of Fire" seal on the palm of his right hand. Lan Shang then declared her conviction in the Fire King's unmatched power.
Guided by Feng Tian Po Po, who revealed a secret pathway to the Divine Realm, Ka Suo and Li Luo ventured through a hidden cave, where they discovered other realm guardians, including Qin Chu, Lu Zhao, and Yang Dan, who had been hiding there since the Fire Tribe's takeover. The guardians informed them that Huo Yi had prematurely brought Ying Kong Shi and Lan Shang back to the City of Bladed Snow, intending to marry Lan Shang.
They also disclosed Ying Kong Shi's plan to launch a counterattack during Huo Yi's wedding, with the realm guardians responsible for securing the Endless Bridge for the allied forces of the Dream, Healer, Sprite, and Bear Tribes. Unbeknownst to the guardians, Ka Suo decided to pursue his own plan. Ignoring the specifics of Ying Kong Shi's strategy, Ka Suo declared his intention to go to the Endless Cave to retrieve the God Devouring Sword to help his brother.
Meanwhile, the Fire King's extravagant ascension and wedding ceremony to Lan Shang commenced, with dignitaries like Liao Jian, Huang Tuo, Xing Jiu, and Chao Ya in attendance. As the festivities began, Li Luo directed Qin Chu and other realm guardians to create a diversion by attacking the Endless Bridge, while she, Ka Suo, and Feng Tian Po Po proceeded to the Endless Cave. Inside, they found the corpses of Fire Tribe soldiers, seemingly killed by the God Devouring Sword's energy.
Ka Suo attempted to awaken the legendary weapon, but the sword remained inert. Puzzled by its lack of reaction, Feng Tian Po Po managed to capture a small, elusive sword spirit. The spirit explained that it was not the only one; many sword spirits had been dispersed when the cave was damaged by gods.
To bind with the God Devouring Sword and gain its power, Ka Suo would need to gather all the scattered sword spirits, and they were drawn by the "flavor of fear." Resolute, Ka Suo asked Feng Tian Po Po to use her magic to immerse him in his deepest fears. Following Ying Kong Shi's instructions, Yue Shen led the Bear Tribe forces towards the Road of Snow and Fog.
She rallied her troops, outlining their mission to eliminate all twenty Fire Tribe lookout posts extending to the Endless Bridge without leaving survivors or revealing their presence in the Divine Realm. Meanwhile, Lian Ji confronted Ying Kong Shi, urging him to use Huo Yi's wedding as an opportunity to escape. Ying Kong Shi refused, unwilling to abandon their father and the others. Lian Ji bitterly retorted that their father only cared for Ka Suo and they shouldn't suffer for him.
Ying Kong Shi then confessed his true intention: to assassinate Huo Yi and avenge the suffering inflicted upon Ka Suo. Devastated, Lian Ji accused him of caring only for his brother and forgetting her sacrifices, reminding him of the humiliation she endured for his sake. She slapped him, desperately pleading for him not to embark on a suicide mission. Ying Kong Shi acknowledged her love but asserted his need to uphold the integrity of an Ice Prince.
Lian Ji, still defiant, gave him an ultimatum: come with her immediately or she would disown him. Feigning agreement, Ying Kong Shi then regretfully used his magic to put his mother into a deep sleep.
