Ka Suo and Li Luo mourned the two innocent villagers who had died. Ka Suo blamed himself, feeling that without his magical power, he was useless and couldn't save them. He expressed a desire to properly send them off and then sent Li Luo away, choosing to leave alone. Later, Li Luo found Ka Suo lost in despair, tormented by memories of the Ice-Fire war, recalling his family members who perished protecting him.

He blamed himself for failing everyone's expectations and for the destruction of the Six-Leaf Ice Crystal. Feeling he could not protect anyone, that his magical powers were useless, and that he had nothing to live for or the ability to defeat the Fire King, Li Luo embraced him, offering comfort and support. She reassured him, saying, "This isn't your fault, don't blame yourself. It was an accident," and reminded him, "Ka Suo, you still have me."

Meanwhile, the Mermaid Saint frantically searched for Ka Suo, but to no avail. Lan Shang, wanting to save Ka Suo, decided to follow Ying Kong Shi's plan. She proposed marrying Huo Yi, the Fire King, to the Mermaid Saint. Lan Shang explained that Huo Yi was conquering the Three Realms, and the Mermaid Saint had always intended for her to marry the ruler of the Three Realms.

The Mermaid Saint, however, was hesitant, worrying that Huo Yi was violent and cruel, and that his many concubines never met good ends. Lan Shang was touched by the Mermaid Saint's concern, realizing that she cared for her deeply and wasn't willing to sacrifice her for political gain. The Mermaid Saint affectionately called her a "precious princess" and confirmed her deep care. Ying Kong Shi was diligently practicing his illusion magic.

The Mermaid Saint visited him, expressing concern about the assassination attempt on Huo Yi. Ying Kong Shi confidently stated he had confidence. She accepted his audacious plan to impersonate Lan Shang, but demanded a solemn vow: if the plan failed, the Mermaid Tribe must not be implicated. Ying Kong Shi swore under the Ice Tribe gods that he would take all responsibility and that the Mermaid Tribe would remain unaffected, or else the Ice Tribe would remain lost forever.

She then added another condition: if the Ice Tribe were to be restored to power, the next Ice King must marry Lan Shang as his queen. Ying Kong Shi agreed. Xing Gui was training her Dream Beast, determined to become a powerful dream seeker. She told her brother, Xing Jiu, that she aspired to be as strong as his dream source and a top-notch dream seeker.

Xing Jiu prepared to enter a dream to consult with the tribal leaders about the Ice Tribe's restoration. Xing Gui questioned him, asking whether he supported Ka Suo or Ying Kong Shi as the future king and who was worthy of his service. Xing Jiu, a dream seeker who believed they could foresee but not change fate, refused to express a preference.

Xing Gui, however, encouraged him to challenge fate, asserting that she had defeated fate by refusing to let him go, causing fate to surrender to her will. A dark mist suddenly enveloped Xing Gui, telling her that if she wanted her wish to come true, she should ensure Prince Ying Kong Shi became the real king.

Ying Kong Shi had perfected his illusion, capable of transforming into Lan Shang flawlessly, so much so that even Lan Shang herself initially couldn't recognize him. Lan Shang playfully challenged him, offering to teach him how to be more beautiful if he called her "teacher." Ying Kong Shi retorted, "If you want me to call you sister-in-law later, you better not make me call you teacher."

This made Lan Shang sad, as she believed Ka Suo would never marry her because he loved someone else. Ying Kong Shi quickly reassured her that Ka Suo was only lying to her because he didn't want to burden her. At that moment, Yan Da abruptly arrived, demanding that Lan Shang immediately return with her to the City of Bladed Snow.

Yan Da, observing the close interaction between Ying Kong Shi (as Lan Shang) and the real Lan Shang, grew visibly annoyed. However, due to the Mermaid Saint's presence, she restrained herself and watched as Ying Kong Shi and Lan Shang departed with her. Yan Da had earlier questioned the Mermaid Saint about Ka Suo's whereabouts.

The Mermaid Saint lied, stating that Ka Suo had been taken to another island by a Mortal Realm Guardian for treatment and would return within ten days. Yan Da warned that if Ka Suo didn't appear in the City of Bladed Snow within ten days, Lan Shang would suffer the consequences. Upon their arrival at the City of Bladed Snow, Lian Ji saw her son, Ying Kong Shi, now a grown man, for the first time in years.

She was overcome with emotion and tears, relieved that he had finally grown up and wouldn't be mocked anymore. However, the Fire King rudely interrupted their tender reunion, dismissively telling them they had "over a thousand years for your family reunion." He then ominously announced his intention to host a "reunion dinner" for the Ice King's family, a thinly veiled scheme.

The Ice Queen immediately asked Ying Kong Shi about Ka Suo, and he informed her that Ka Suo had gone with his Realm Guardian to the Spirit Healer Valley to treat his injuries and hadn't returned in time due to Huo Yi's sudden summons. Ying Kong Shi returned to his Illusion Sky palace, only to find Yan Da waiting for him.

She challenged him, stating that since the entire City of Bladed Snow was occupied by the Fire Tribe, she could come to his palace whenever she pleased. She then aggressively questioned his relationship with the mermaid princess. Ying Kong Shi's evasive response, stating it was "none of her business," enraged Yan Da. She declared she would teach him a lesson and lashed out with her whip, striking him repeatedly.

Ying Kong Shi stoically endured the assault, refusing to fight back, which only intensified Yan Da's fury. She mockingly offered to teach him Fire Tribe magic, which he rejected, saying it would be futile for a god not of the Fire Tribe to attempt it. During the Fire King's banquet, Shuo Gang demanded that Lian Ji dance to entertain his father. Lian Ji refused.

Subsequently, the disguised Lan Shang (Ying Kong Shi) captivated the Fire King with a mesmerizing dance, a dazzling display combining graceful movements with Mermaid Tribe illusions. Lian Ji, observing from a distance, wondered why the Fire King seemed uninterested in her but so captivated by Lan Shang. Meanwhile, Ka Suo and Li Luo successfully located the reclusive Divine Healer Qiu Tiannian at his residence in the Healer Valley.

Qiu Tiannian was shocked, noting how brutal it was that all of Ka Suo's spiritual powers had been destroyed, and expressed sympathy for him. He informed Ka Suo that recovering his spiritual powers would require a rare and potent herb, which had to be collected and brewed on the spot. He warned them, however, that no one had ever successfully used it to restore spiritual powers. Despite the slim chances, Ka Suo was determined and declared his willingness to try.

Li Luo volunteered to accompany Qiu Tiannian to collect the herb, leaving Ka Suo alone to wait. Lan Shang (Ying Kong Shi) had indeed successfully drawn the Fire King's attention. During a break in the banquet, the Fire King cornered Lan Shang and, despite her tearful reluctance, kissed her. Lian Ji, witnessing this scene, bitterly thought, "If I can't live well, I won't let you two live well, either," and resolved to make those who hurt her suffer.

The Mermaid Saint later received a Mirage Orb. Upon opening it, she saw a projection of Huo Yi kissing a young Lian Ji. Following this, Lian Ji's voice echoed from the orb, taunting the Mermaid Saint. Lian Ji accused the Mermaid Saint of betraying her own daughter a century ago by forcing her to marry the Ice King, and now, with a new dynasty, selling out her granddaughter, Lan Shang, to please the new ruler.

Lian Ji declared the Mermaid Saint to be the "best and most miserable at manipulative calculations" in the Three Realms, and cursed all future Mermaid Tribe princesses to live as puppets for the tribe's schemes, forever unable to find true love or happiness, just like herself and Lan Shang. The Mermaid Saint, furious and unwilling for Lan Shang to suffer such indignity, rallied her people, declaring war on the Fire Tribe.

Later, Ying Kong Shi found Lan Shang, who was submerged underwater and crying, distraught over her forced intimacy with the Fire King. She explained that she immersed herself to hide her tears and pretend not to be upset. Ying Kong Shi transformed into Ka Suo to comfort her, reassuring her that everything that happened between her and Huo Yi was "fake." He urged her to endure for Ka Suo's sake. Lan Shang, embracing him, vowed, "Ka Suo, my king.

I will do my best to tolerate this. For you, I will perform my role well." Ying Kong Shi, in his own thoughts, silently committed to enduring his struggles for his brother and their home.
