Following his arrival at Fu Zongshu's residence, Guan Qi engaged in a fierce fight with the guards and confronted the minister. At the critical moment, Wang Xiaoshi, who was impersonating the minister, acted in concert with Fu Zongshu to deny the latter's identity, managing to temporarily deceive Guan Qi. However, the deception was exposed when the guards cried out in an attempt to protect the minister. Enraged by the lie, Guan Qi nearly killed Wang Xiaoshi on the spot.

Desperate, Wang Xiaoshi ignited a fuse on his body, intending to take Guan Qi down with him, but he was no match for his opponent, who managed to escape. Just as Wang Xiaoshi collapsed, Di Feijing appeared, swiftly extinguishing the burning fuse. Severely wounded, Wang Xiaoshi stumbled through the night until he was discovered by Wen Rou, who had been searching for him for a day and a night.

Wang Xiaoshi apologized for his embarrassing state, but Wen Rou reassured him and carefully carried him home. She lamented that she would forgo all her titles if only he were lighter or she were stronger, and she reminded him of his promise that their lives would become entangled, urging him to keep his word. Once back at the House of Sunset Drizzle, she called for a physician.

Meanwhile, a frustrated Fu Zongshu berated his subordinate for failing to capture Guan Qi and for releasing Wang Xiaoshi. The subordinate explained that he let Wang Xiaoshi go to deliver a message to Su Mengzhen, reasoning that Su's Red Sleeve Blade was necessary to kill Guan Qi and that Su Mengzhen would now be forced to deal with the situation.

Terrified by the recent attack, Fu Zongshu expressed his desire to relocate and noted Di Feijing's unexpected defiance of Lei Sun's orders. In the House of Sunset Drizzle, Bai Choufei discussed Di Feijing's actions with Su Mengzhen, suggesting that if Lei Sun was the blade of Six Half Hall, Di Feijing was its scabbard. Applying this to their own sect, Bai Choufei proposed that he was the scabbard to Su Mengzhen's blade.

Su Mengzhen disagreed, stating that Bai Choufei, with his impulsive actions, was also a blade. He concluded that Wang Xiaoshi, now injured and resting, was the true scabbard of the House of Sunset Drizzle. Wang Xiaoshi awoke to find Wen Rou by his side. She revealed that Fang Yingkan had forced her into a wrestling match just to learn Wang Xiaoshi's location.

In response, Wang Xiaoshi returned her perfume pouch, explaining he had risked his life for it simply because it was hers. He then presented her with a jade pendant, carefully placing it around her neck. As Wang Xiaoshi embraced Wen Rou, thanking her for carrying him back, she made him promise not to disappear without a word again.

Their tender moment was abruptly interrupted by the arrival of Su Mengzhen and Bai Choufei, who jokingly embraced Wang Xiaoshi, much to Wen Rou's discomfort as she departed. Soon after, Fang Yingkan visited. An angered Wang Xiaoshi grabbed his collar, accusing him of setting him up to release Guan Qi. Professing to be unskilled in martial arts, Fang Yingkan introduced himself as Marquis Shentong and explained that the legendary Blood River Sword he inherited had been sealed for years.

He revealed his motive stemmed from a past grievance: his foster father, Fang Geyin, was framed by the Youqiao Group and went missing. Although Fang Yingkan inherited his position, he faced constant suppression. Feeling powerless, he used Guan Qi to stir chaos and disrupt the Youqiao Group's power structure, which he identified as being rooted in Lei Sun and Fu Zongshu. He then proposed an alliance.

Bai Choufei stated that martial arts practitioners valued their freedom and did not meddle in court affairs. Wang Xiaoshi called Fang Yingkan hypocritical, but ignoring the back-and-forth, Bai Choufei, as the Vice House Master, asked what the House of Sunset Drizzle would gain. Fang Yingkan promised that if the Youqiao Group fell, Six Half Hall would lose its support, leaving the martial arts world under the House of Sunset Drizzle's control for the next thirty years.

After a contemplative silence, Su Mengzhen dismissed Fang Yingkan. As they walked away, Wang Xiaoshi challenged Fang Yingkan to a wrestling match to avenge Wen Rou, and Fang readily agreed to face him once he recovered. Later, Bai Choufei asked Su Mengzhen if he had spoken out of turn. Su Mengzhen clarified that while he did not mind Bai Choufei speaking for him, he despised opportunistic "businessmen" who seek only personal gain rather than upholding righteous principles.

He emphasized that their reputation was not built on seeking benefits. He explained that Fang Yingkan's alliance offer was a facade; by manipulating Wang Xiaoshi into releasing Guan Qi, Fang had already tied them to the situation. Su Mengzhen reiterated a fundamental rule of the House of Sunset Drizzle: "Do not get involved with officials or rely on political support."

Meanwhile, Master Wo was cleaning his Blazing River Lance when his wife, Madam Cha Hua, gently advised him that some things from his youth were best left in the past. When Wang Xiaoshi arrived, Master Wo recounted the history of the Mitian Sect, once the largest gang in the Capital, led by the incredibly skilled but bloodthirsty Guan Qi.

He explained how Lei Sun had gathered various martial arts experts to besiege and kill Guan Qi, a battle that resulted in countless deaths. Ultimately, Lei Sun was the true beneficiary, using the conflict to expand Six Half Hall. Surprisingly, Lei Sun had chosen not to deliver the final blow to Guan Qi even when he had the chance.

Wang Xiaoshi assured Master Wo that the current generation would handle Guan Qi and that he should live a peaceful life with his wife. An anxious Fu Zongshu summoned Su Mengzhen and Lei Sun, holding them responsible for the Guan Qi problem. Su Mengzhen proposed a solution: the House of Sunset Drizzle and Six Half Hall would gather their experts to ambush Guan Qi, but only if Fu Zongshu served as bait.

Fu Zongshu furiously refused, but Su Mengzhen and Lei Sun calmly sat down, declaring they would remain until he agreed. Days later, Guan Qi appeared at Fu Zongshu's residence, taking the minister's concubine, Yue, hostage to lure him out. The news reached Master Wo. Understanding his duty, he bid farewell to his wife, promising to return alive, and set out with his Blazing River Lance. Guan Qi recognized the weapon and the old warrior. Facing him, Master Wo told Guan Qi to remember his face, as he would be the one to seek for revenge in the next life.
