Professor Ouyang attempted to strike the Night King, but his blow passed harmlessly through the elusive figure, revealing the Night King's formidable power and deepening the Marine Administration leaders' apprehension. The Night King proposed a trade for peace: the capture and handover of Zhao Yunlan and Shen Wei.
Minister Gao told the Night King he would consider it, but after the Night King left, he confided in Professor Ouyang that the Marine Administration had its own principles and would not betray its people. However, the enemy's easy infiltration proved their readiness for war. Seeing no other choice, Minister Gao reversed his earlier hesitation and approved Professor Ouyang's serum application. This broadcast served as a crucial distraction. During this time, Lin Jing and Changcheng secretly rendezvoused in the men's room after Lin Jing passed a coded message. Lin Jing revealed that his apparent betrayal of the Special Investigation Unit was a deliberate ruse orchestrated by Zhao Yunlan. Their mission was to steal Professor Ouyang's serum and sabotage his dangerous experiments.
As Professor Ouyang and Li Qian were preparing to retrieve the serum in the lab, Lin Jing and Changcheng burst in. Struggling with pain, Changcheng clutched the hallows and fled. Separately, the Night King conveyed his grand strategy to Mi Lu.
He declared that the destruction of humanity was merely the first step, and once accomplished, the Sub-beasts would also be annihilated, leaving the pure Marine world to the Subterraneans alone. Mi Lu was instructed to assist Yaqing in acquiring the Sub-beast power, close any unnecessary passages, and, most importantly, monitor Yaqing, with orders to eliminate her if she showed any signs of disloyalty.
In a flashback, it was revealed how Chu Shuzhi, once imprisoned for avenging his brother, was visited by the Black Robed Envoy. The Black Robed Envoy, impressed by Chu Shuzhi's fierce loyalty, convinced him to redirect that dedication toward a greater mission in the above-ground world, thereby securing Chu Shuzhi's cooperation. Later, Chu Shuzhi and Changcheng were patrolling, with Chu Shuzhi sensing the arrival of the Night King’s vanguards. They soon encountered an Enchanter and his subordinates.
Chu Shuzhi engaged the enemies, cautioning Changcheng not to look into the Enchanter's eyes. Shortly after, Da Qing and Zhu Hong arrived at the scene. The Enchanter used his power, casting a spell that caused both Da Qing and Zhu Hong to fall into a deep sleep. As the Enchanter focused his mesmerizing gaze on Chu Shuzhi, Changcheng, despite his own suffering from the serum, courageously intervened, pulling Chu Shuzhi back from the brink of unconsciousness.
At that critical moment, Zhao Yunlan suddenly appeared, swiftly ending the Enchanter's life with a single shot. With the Special Investigation Unit members reunited, they shared their relief. Da Qing recounted how he had attempted to secure the hallows from their lab during the chaos, only to be intercepted by the Marine Administration. Now, with three hallows recovered, the conversation shifted to the missing fourth hallow, the Guardian Lantern, and the possibility of it being hidden nearby.
Shen Wei observed Changcheng's physical state, confirming that he had mutated from Professor Ouyang's serum, leading Zhao Yunlan to question if he had developed new psychic powers. The Black Robed Envoy then made an appearance, revealing that the Enchanter was merely a subordinate and that someone else had been impersonating him to sow confusion. He declared the battle for the Marine world was far from over, as the Night King’s true form remained in the Subterrane, unchanged in his ruthless ambition.
