Huang Xinghan informed Luo Fusheng that Tianying was feigning amnesia to infiltrate Xu Xingcheng's circle and acquire intelligence for their "Earthworm program." Luo Fusheng was infuriated, questioning why they, as men, would allow Tianying to undertake such a dangerous mission. He asserted his intention to personally rescue Tianying. However, Tianying unexpectedly appeared, clarifying that she had to keep him in the dark to prevent him from rashly confronting Xu Xingcheng.
She explained that her mission was crucial to prevent further loss of life and to avenge her loved ones and friends. Tianying stated that Xu Xingcheng's trust made her the only one capable of obtaining the "Earthworm program" list, which was vital for Dongjiang's security. Witnessing her resolute determination, Luo Fusheng reluctantly pledged his support, promising to aid her in completing the mission.
Before returning to the Xu residence, Tianying warned Luo Fusheng that Xu Xingcheng would grow suspicious if she was gone for too long. Sometime later, Xu Xingcheng, concerned about Tianying's whereabouts, confronted her at a flower shop, deflecting her questions about her past employment there. She also observed that Tianying's eyes held no genuine affection for Xu Xingcheng. Tianying confessed her deception, explaining her mission to approach Xu Xingcheng.
Xu Xingyuan understood it was related to Xu Xingcheng's questionable activities and pleaded with Tianying to spare her brother, as she did not wish him to become a traitor. Tianying reassured her, stating their true enemies were the Japanese, and she too hoped Xu Xingcheng would repent. Xu Xingyuan then urged Tianying to complete her mission, promising to wait for her.
Tianying then met with Luo Fusheng and Huang Xinghan, who informed her that Xu Xingcheng and the Japanese were now suspicious due to the false information from Feiyan's trap. Tianying, still feigning limited memory, expressed her happiness at knowing him and experiencing the feeling of being loved.
As Xu Xingcheng became heavily intoxicated, he repeatedly apologized for forcing her to do things and expressed how much he owed her. Once he passed out, Tianying found the "Earthworm evolution list" and quickly fled the house. Outside, Tianying encountered Feiyan and instinctively warned her to pretend they hadn't seen each other, indicating danger. Feiyan, however, smirked, revealing she knew Tianying's amnesia was fake because Tianying recognized her.
Feiyan then unmasked herself as Xiao Lin Yilizi, the Japanese agent collaborating with Xu Xingcheng, and aimed a gun at Tianying. Just as Xiao Lin Yilizi was about to fire, Xu Xingcheng appeared and shot her. He revealed that he had known about Tianying's deception all along and had intended to pretend to be drunk to let her escape. But fearing for her safety, he had followed her.
As Xu Xingcheng and Tianying tried to flee, Xiao Lin Yilizi, wounded but still alive, managed to shoot Xu Xingcheng. Simultaneously, Japanese soldiers arrived and abducted Tianying. As she was dragged away, Tianying managed to press the "Earthworm evolution list" into Xu Xingcheng's hand. Luo Fusheng and his men arrived shortly after, finding Tianying gone and Xu Xingcheng gravely wounded. In his dying moments, Xu Xingcheng handed the list to Luo Fusheng, confessing his past wrongdoings.
He identified Xiao Lin Yilizi as his Japanese contact and revealed she had captured Tianying, pleading with Luo Fusheng to rescue her.
