Gu Qing excitedly approached Ji Ruochen, mistaking him for Yinfeng, a person she believed she had known deeply for ninety-nine lifetimes. Ji Ruochen, a disciple of the Taichang Palace of Xixuan, was startled and asserted he had never met her before, which greatly surprised Gu Qing. Zhang Yinyin, another Xixuan disciple, quickly intervened, pulling Ji Ruochen behind her.

She aggressively mocked Gu Qing, calling her rude, a "wild girl" who "stole other people's efforts," and disparaged Yun Zhong Ju, suggesting their visit for a skill competition had devolved into a mere beauty contest. Gu Qing retaliated, asking if Zhang Yinyin's face still hurt and if she wanted another slap, hinting at a past physical confrontation. Zhang Yinyin then pressed Ji Ruochen, asking who was prettier, and he affirmed that Zhang Yinyin was the most beautiful.

Later that night, Gu Qing visited Ji Ruochen in his courtyard, claiming she was there to apologize and "catch up." She invited him to discuss the "secret of the bluestone," then directly asked if he truly didn't remember her, insisting that she had given him the bluestone pendant he wore. Ji Ruochen, startled, maintained she had mistaken him for someone else, claiming the stone was a gift from his mother and that countless similar stones existed.

Gu Qing was adamant, asserting the stone had a unique connection with her and that their destiny, witnessed by Heaven and Earth, and sealed by the bluestone, spanned ninety-nine lifetimes. She believed his memory loss was due to his divine consciousness not being fully open and vowed to help him regain his memories. Ji Ruochen, visibly frustrated, wished she would let go of the past.

Whispers began to spread among the disciples after Gu Qing's nocturnal visit to Ji Ruochen's courtyard, speculating that they were having a secret liaison. Zhang Yinyin, hearing the rumors, confronted Ji Ruochen, accusing him of being easily captivated by beautiful women and disregarding her feelings. She made him promise not to see Gu Qing again, vowing revenge against "that stone fairy." Zhang Yinyin, the eldest disciple of the Taixuan Palace, then publicly challenged Gu Qing.

Despite her challenge, Zhang Yinyin was no match for Gu Qing and was decisively defeated, regretting her decision. To save face, Zhang Yinyin decided to seek out a nine-tailed fox to learn demonic arts. Soon after, Gu Qing, also known as Shi Ji from Yun Zhong Ju, accepted another challenge. However, Shang Qiushui, a disciple from Xixuan's Sikong Palace and a friend of Zhang Yinyin, stepped forward to fight Gu Qing on behalf of his sect.

During the duel, Gu Qing decisively defeated Shang Qiushui, leading Zhang Yinyin to openly accuse Gu Qing of fighting dirty and being shameless for severely injuring her friend. After the confrontation, Gu Qing asked Ji Ruochen to speak with her privately. Alone with Ji Ruochen, Gu Qing continued to infuse spiritual power into the bluestone pendant he wore, hoping to restore his memories.

Ji Ruochen grew increasingly uncomfortable, pleading with her to let go of the past, as the stone felt scalding. Gu Qing then directly asked him if he liked Zhang Yinyin. Ji Ruochen affirmed that he did, stating it was common knowledge. Gu Qing then declared that despite his apparent feelings for Zhang Yinyin, she and Ji Ruochen were destined as a divine couple to return to the God Realm, urging him not to be swayed by mortal attachments.

However, Ji Ruochen firmly rejected her, stating that he and Zhang Yinyin were deeply in love and soulmates, destined to be together in this life, and he couldn't accept Gu Qing's affections. Before he could leave, Gu Qing challenged him to a duel in three days, claiming it was part of Yun Zhong Ju's purpose for visiting Xixuan. Ji Ruochen, knowing he was outmatched by her immortal power, reluctantly agreed, acknowledging it would be a clear defeat for him.

Meanwhile, in Haofang City, King Li An expressed his deep concern to the Imperial Advisor about the dark demon smoke emanating from the city's wells and the resulting public panic. The Imperial Advisor, asserting that the phenomena signaled the emergence of a demon, advised King Li An to recruit skilled individuals to eliminate the threat, assuring him it would both demonstrate his virtue and gain the Emperor's favor.

King Li An, feeling politically isolated as a prince far from the capital, sought the Imperial Advisor's support. The Imperial Advisor, asserting that King Li An's destiny lacked the "water" element and hinged upon a specific woman, then introduced a young woman named Luo Xichen. Luo Xichen subtly charmed King Li An, creating an immediate rapport.

Later, Luo Xichen reported to her own master that Haofang City was now under their control and that a demon carrying a crucial treasure would soon emerge from the city's waters. She instructed her master to use this opportunity to unite various sects, acknowledging that Xixuan Sect might prove challenging.

In another development, Yinfeng of Qingxu Sect, having regained his divine power but not yet his full memories, sought out the individual he believed was a fake banished immortal at Xixuan Sect, whom he had previously tried to kill. He confronted Ji Ruochen, accusing him of being an imposter and recalling a past incident where Ji Ruochen's magic was involved. Ji Ruochen denied the accusation, claiming Yinfeng had accidentally caused his own injury while trying to harm someone else.

As Yinfeng prepared to attack, Gu Qing intervened, shielding Ji Ruochen. She immediately recognized Yinfeng as "A Qing," the one she had searched for over ninety-nine lifetimes since their banishment from the God Realm. Yinfeng, despite recognizing Gu Qing as "Big Bluestone" and his beloved, was baffled by her protection of Ji Ruochen, the supposed imposter. He identified himself as Yinfeng from Qingxu Sect and Gu Qing as a fairy from Yun Zhong Ju.

Yinfeng attempted to insist on settling his private grievance with Ji Ruochen, but Gu Qing refused to back down, stating her long-standing commitment to "A Qing." Yinfeng, frustrated, departed, vowing revenge on Ji Ruochen. News of Gu Qing and Ji Ruochen's nocturnal meeting and their subsequent interactions, particularly their private rendezvous in the library, reached the masters of their respective sects. Ziyang, Ji Ruochen's master from Xixuan, met with Jin Shan, Gu Qing's master from Yun Zhong Ju.

Ziyang proposed a marriage between Gu Qing and Ji Ruochen, emphasizing their deep past connections and intertwined immortal fate as banished immortals. Initially, Jin Shan was outraged at the suggestion, especially upon learning Gu Qing had indeed trespassed into Xixuan's library. However, Gu Qing, when confronted by her master, surprisingly insisted that Jin Shan agree to the proposal, asserting her destined immortal connection with Ji Ruochen could not be stopped.

Later, Ji Ruochen's master, Ziyang, informed him that he had already arranged the marriage with Gu Qing. Ziyang revealed that Gu Qing was believed to be the "Bluestone Immortal" from the immortal realm, destined for Ji Ruochen as a banished immortal. He pressured Ji Ruochen to accept this divine fate, warning that Senior Ziwei had sacrificed centuries of cultivation to bring him to Xixuan as the banished immortal, and his refusal would jeopardize the entire sect's reputation and safety. Despite the severe warnings, Ji Ruochen defiantly refused, declaring he would marry no one but Zhang Yinyin.
