Chi Yu, having saved Wen Suxi, stayed by her side. You You arrived shortly after and called an ambulance for Wen Suxi. As Wen Suxi was being transported to the hospital, Chi Yu followed, holding her hand and reflecting on their shared moments. He sensed danger befalling Lin Haoshu when their foreheads touched, prompting him to rush to Lin Haoshu’s aid. Meanwhile, Lin Haoshu and Wang Xiaomi were frantically searching for Qian Ning.

They spotted him entering a taxi and immediately hailed another to follow. Chi Yu contacted Lin Haoshu, obtained his location, and used his abilities to halt Lin Haoshu’s taxi. However, at that very moment, Qian Ning's taxi was involved in a severe accident, killing Qian Ning instantly. Lin Haoshu later told You You and Tang Mao about Qian Ning's death, which caused You You to lament that Wen Suxi would now have to take the blame for everything.

Tang Mao visited Wen Suxi in the hospital. The doctor informed him that Wen Suxi sustained only minor injuries—a knock to the head and a slight ankle injury—and would recover with a few days of observation. Tang Mao assured You You he would care for Wen Suxi. Elsewhere, Cai Shumeng learned about Wen Suxi’s accident and Qian Ning’s death.

She sent Xiao Di to visit Qian Ning’s parents, who refused any money, stating the company and Wen Suxi had always treated their son well. They revealed Qian Ning had recently sent them a substantial sum of 100,000 as a "project bonus," unaware he had resigned. Xiao Di also found a document among Qian Ning’s belongings. Chi Yu confronted Tang Mao at the hospital, expressing his disbelief that Qian Ning could have single-handedly stolen and distributed the film materials overnight.

He asked Tang Mao about Qian Ning’s contacts. Tang Mao, however, questioned Chi Yu's motives, given his connection to Lin Haoshu, and told him to stop concerning himself with Wen Suxi. Chi Yu reiterated his status as Wen Suxi’s friend. Tang Mao insinuated Chi Yu was absent during Wen Suxi's accident but had been seen at the hospital. Chi Yu denied this, suggesting Tang Mao mistook him for someone else.

Tang Mao then warned Chi Yu to stay away from Wen Suxi, declaring, "Suxi is my woman; she doesn't need your concern." Later, Tang Mao received a call from someone who found the timing of Qian Ning’s death too coincidental, asking about the film copy and Qian Ning’s mysterious money, suggesting a deeper plot was at play. Wen Suxi eventually awoke in the hospital.

You You, overjoyed and tearful, explained the events, including how Wen Suxi's bag was lost in the accident. Wen Suxi then anxiously asked about Qian Ning, but You You deflected, offering food and mentioning that Tang Mao had already arranged for a nutritionist. You You also revealed that Tang Mao had stayed the night to buy daily necessities for Wen Suxi and that she had called Wen Suxi's father, who was now flying in.

Wen Suxi was exasperated, knowing her father would only cause trouble. Cai Shumeng arrived at the hospital, ostensibly to arrange an interview for Wen Suxi. While preparing, she subtly gave Wen Suxi Qian Ning's document: a material handover list with Wen Suxi's own signature. Cai Shumeng pointed out that the document suggested Wen Suxi had authorized the release of materials, and with Qian Ning’s death, there was no one to dispute it.

She urged Wen Suxi to provide a public explanation. Realizing her oversight in signing the document, Wen Suxi decided to take full responsibility. During the interview, she announced her resignation from the company and pledged to compensate for all losses, using her company shares and selling her house and other assets, though You You later informed her she was still short by 20 million.

Wen Suxi decided to let go of investigating the leak and, upon seeing Lin Haoshu, asked to look at his comic, stating that "people always have to start all over again." Meanwhile, Chi Yu discovered that the entire Star Map Gallery and the curator had vanished, hinting at an underlying secret.

Shancai and Fang discussed Chi Yu’s unauthorized alteration of Wen Suxi's fate, warning that it could impact those around her and advising him to observe them for any strange behavior. They also cautioned him that his energy might not last, as he had escaped privately, and questioned if his mission concerning Ji Wan was truly resolved. Shancai urged Chi Yu not to meddle further in worldly affairs, as it would only cause Wen Suxi more suffering.

Chi Yu, however, affirmed his commitment to resolve everything and take responsibility. Tang Mao sought to help Wen Suxi, but Mr. Ren intervened, reminding Tang Mao to prioritize the company's investors and shareholders. Mr. Ren also noted that the cinema schedules would likely be readjusted, effectively replacing Wen Suxi's film with Cai Shumeng's on the release schedule. It was observed that from the current situation, this made Cai Shumeng the biggest beneficiary. Cai Shumeng later met with Tang Mao.

Tang Mao warned her to stop meddling in Wen Suxi's affairs and to be careful not to offend the wrong people in the company, as it could leave her with no way out. Cai Shumeng then showed Tang Mao the document she found among Qian Ning's belongings and informed him about the mysterious money Qian Ning received, suggesting Wen Suxi was intentionally framed.

However, Tang Mao dismissed her concerns, stating that the culprit had achieved their goal, and advised Cai Shumeng to focus solely on her own film. The company released a public announcement blaming Wen Suxi for the film leak and refusing future cooperation. You You was furious, but Wen Suxi remained composed, acknowledging the company's need to protect its image. Later, Mr. Li’s assistant visited, explaining Mr. Li was on a business trip and couldn't visit in person.

You You lamented how fair-weather friends disappeared in times of trouble. Wen Suxi appreciated the gesture of a fruit basket left by the assistant, but felt overwhelmed and asked You You to leave her alone. Tang Mao called Wen Suxi, asking if she was okay. Wen Suxi, feeling guilty, questioned if the company’s troubles were her fault and if Qian Ning would still be alive had she not chased him. Tang Mao tried to reassure her not to blame herself, but Wen Suxi tearfully asked who else she should blame.
