Destiny's Love Episode 27 Recap
> Destiny's Love Recap
Wen Suxi placed her headphones on Chi Yu, then bravely confessed her feelings, telling him she had fallen in love with him, believing he had orchestrated their encounter. She questioned why he had appeared in her life, making her unable to see other men. Chi Yu responded that destiny had brought them together, but it would also separate them, and he would have to make her forget him. He then stated that he would pretend her words were never spoken.
Heartbroken, Wen Suxi asked if she had misunderstood his feelings and then told him to leave. As Chi Yu walked away, his eyes were filled with tears, and he spoke to himself, reflecting that the memory of this moment would eventually fade and could only become a memory. Lin Haoshu, who had witnessed the emotional exchange from a distance, later confronted Chi Yu.
He accused Chi Yu of being irresponsible, noting that before Chi Yu's arrival, Suxi was happy and carefree, but now she was constantly worried and indecisive. Lin Haoshu demanded that Chi Yu apologize to Wen Suxi, who was currently crying in her room. Chi Yu refused, asserting that some realities were beyond control and that he was powerless.
He then questioned Lin Haoshu, asking if he, who also cared for Suxi, truly understood that the current situation was more difficult to resolve than imagined. Later, Chi Yu reflected and apologized to Suxi, thinking about their predetermined fate, the inevitable pain of their future separation, and wishing he could return to the day they met to prevent their eventual parting. Later, at the screening of their sample movie, Wen Suxi thanked everyone for their hard work.
She then tried to approach Chi Yu for a private conversation. However, to Suxi's shock and anger, Chi Yu publicly invited Dora to dinner, completely ignoring Suxi. Wen Suxi confronted him, asking if he could avoid having dinner with Dora to prevent media gossip, especially with the film's impending release. She questioned why he found it uncomfortable to eat with her but not with Dora, and if he truly hated her. She sadly confessed her growing dependence on him.
Chi Yu stated that he had already said all he needed to say, then, feeling somewhat unbearable, he quickly left, making an excuse. Hu Dongkai, who had been waiting for Dora, was disappointed and left sadly when he learned Chi Yu had invited her to dinner. Dora and Chi Yu chatted in the car, where she realized he was using her to provoke Suxi and called him a "jerk."
She pointed out he was simply acting like a character in an idol drama. Chi Yu admitted that his actions were intended to make Suxi hate him. Dora questioned if he felt no pain abandoning Suxi without explanation. She then declined his dinner invitation, advising him that to truly make Wen Suxi give up, he first needed to deceive himself, thus enabling him to be cruel to her.
Chi Yu, understanding, asked Dora to get out of the car and apologized. Meanwhile, at a press conference for a Japanese IP project, Cai Shumeng was celebrating her achievement when Tang Mao arrived with flowers. He told her he owed her and would compensate her doubly, to which she replied that his presence was enough. Tang Mao then proposed to announce their relationship to the public, which delighted Cai Shumeng.
During the press conference, Tang Mao declared that he and Cai Shumeng would soon be getting married. He added that after the event, Cai Shumeng would suspend work to focus on their family, explaining that he could provide for her happiness and didn't want her to labor after marriage. Cai Shumeng was stunned by this unexpected announcement. Before she could react, Tang Mao whisked her away.
Yu You, Wen Suxi's assistant, immediately informed Wen Suxi about the news, expressing her shock at Tang Mao's sudden marriage and her suspicion of his true motives, especially after his assistant, Jiang Yu, had recently inquired about Suxi's missing hard drive. Wen Suxi, however, remained calm and simply wished Tang Mao well.
In the underground parking lot, Cai Shumeng angrily confronted Tang Mao for announcing her resignation without her consent, demanding to hold a press conference to clarify her continued commitment to her career. Tang Mao calmly responded that this was what she had always desired—a life free from work pressure with him. Realizing his manipulative intentions, Cai Shumeng declared that if this was his attitude, she would not marry him.
Tang Mao forcefully asserted that the decision was not hers, then ordered his assistant to take her. Despite her struggles and cries, Cai Shumeng was bound and forced into a car, which took them to her apartment. At her home, Tang Mao asked where "the thing" was, while his assistant began searching the apartment for the hard drive. Cai Shumeng feigned ignorance. Playing for time, she calmly initiated a conversation, secretly activating her recording pen.
She confessed her deep love and admiration for him since college, recounting her efforts to become a woman worthy of him, her sacrifices, and her belief that her dedication had finally paid off. She tragically realized that despite all her efforts, the emotional distance between them remained vast, and his affections were unattainable. She concluded that their relationship had to end. Unmoved, Tang Mao coldly stated that she would live a "happy" life, at least in the eyes of others.
He informed her that her disappearance for a few days wouldn't matter, as everyone would assume she was on her honeymoon. He then threatened to send her abroad after settling her family if she cooperated, telling her to reflect on her "mistakes," particularly touching things she shouldn't have. In a moment of panic, Cai Shumeng inadvertently confirmed her knowledge of the hard drive. Tang Mao then smashed her phone, and as she tried to flee in terror, he pulled her back.
