Destiny's Love Episode 2 Recap
> Destiny's Love Recap
After Lin Haoshu bought Wen Suxi a hot coffee, the three of them sat down to rest, though Wen Suxi and Chi Yu glared intensely at each other. Lin Haoshu, puzzled, asked what was happening. Wen Suxi explained she had accidentally bumped Chi Yu with her car, but he had seemingly forgiven her. Lin Haoshu, concerned about his friend, then questioned Chi Yu, who explained he was there to see Lin Haoshu, not Wen Suxi.
Chi Yu, after confirming Lin Haoshu's name, proclaimed his joy at finally finding him. Wen Suxi, however, was suspicious, noting Chi Yu's strange attire. Chi Yu then claimed to be a fan of Lin Haoshu's work. While Lin Haoshu was pleased, Wen Suxi remained doubtful and challenged Chi Yu to name some of Lin Haoshu's books.
To her astonishment, Chi Yu accurately recounted details of Lin Haoshu's 2011 best-selling comic, "Next Stop: Unknown," including its unfinished status, top sales ranking, and specific reader demographics, noting that 71% were women, which significantly boosted its popularity. Despite Chi Yu's detailed answers, Wen Suxi still felt uneasy.
She pulled Lin Haoshu away, telling him Chi Yu was a "scammer" and his claims were too coincidental, then quickly ran off with Lin Haoshu, leaving Chi Yu behind to ponder the loops of fate. Soon after, photos of Wen Suxi and Chi Yu went viral online, causing her immense distress.
You You informed her via phone call that the news was the top hot search, with headlines describing "a female movie producer of a famous production company made out with her sexy male friend in a car on the street."
Wen Suxi clarified that she merely "hit" Chi Yu with her car, then, after he "popped up" inside and she sprayed him with chili spray, she put him in the trunk when he passed out, as she "couldn't leave him like that." You You worried about managing the negative public relations. Tang Mao called Wen Suxi, having seen the news, and she confirmed it was a "big misunderstanding."
He advised her not to respond to the media and said he would pick her up for a company meeting. Later, Tang Mao suggested that to control the narrative, Wen Suxi should find Chi Yu and bring him to the company's charity dinner banquet to make a public clarification. Wen Suxi agreed with this plan, realizing it was the only way to silence the media. She also learned that the photos were leaked by Cai Shumeng's assistant.
When Wen Suxi confronted Cai Shumeng, the latter denied intentionally leaking the photos, stating she wouldn't be "stupid enough" to send them to their group chat if she meant harm. She claimed to have immediately thought of solutions and assured Wen Suxi that she and Tang Mao would help, but also cautioned Wen Suxi to be mindful of her personal life during the promotion period.
Back home, Wen Suxi, Lin Haoshu, and You You discussed how to find Chi Yu, as Wen Suxi didn't have his contact information. Just as they were strategizing, Chi Yu appeared at the door. He had previously sought advice from Shancai and Fang at the temple on how to ensure Lin Haoshu, the reincarnation of Ji Wan, survived past his 30th birthday.
They advised him that to detect lurking dangers, he needed to "dig deep into his life" and "stay by his side," even suggesting he "live with him." Wen Suxi was puzzled by Chi Yu's sudden appearance, wondering if he had remembered their home after she and You You "carried him home" following their earlier encounter. You You initially suspected him of being a spy sent by Cai Shumeng, but Wen Suxi dismissed the idea.
Lin Haoshu then took Chi Yu aside to talk in his room, asking him to help Wen Suxi. He dramatically claimed that if Chi Yu didn't clarify the incident publicly, Wen Suxi would "kill him." Chi Yu, taking Lin Haoshu's words literally and driven by his mission to protect him, readily agreed. However, he imposed a condition on Wen Suxi: she must "stop seeing Mr. Lin from now on."
Chi Yu argued that Wen Suxi brought misfortune to Lin Haoshu, citing the near-accident at the park and the current gossip that made Lin Haoshu "look so unhappy," attributing these to her "misfortune star" and "karma." Wen Suxi, overhearing his claims, furiously yelled at Chi Yu to "get out." Lin Haoshu quickly ushered Chi Yu away, assuring him he would be safe. Returning to the temple, Chi Yu recounted his ordeal to Shancai and Fang.
Fang, trying to get rid of Chi Yu, suggested he "call the police" as a "fair, just, open, and authoritative platform" to clarify the truth. Chi Yu, misunderstanding the modern term, took the advice literally and reported a crime. Consequently, Wen Suxi and You You were summoned to the police station for questioning. The police revealed they had CCTV footage of the incident.
Wen Suxi attempted to explain that Chi Yu, her "friend," had gotten drunk, and she put him in the trunk due to her "abnormal fear of dirt." When questioned about You You spraying Chi Yu, Wen Suxi deferred to her assistant. Meanwhile, You You secretly messaged Lin Haoshu for help. Lin Haoshu rushed to the police station, admonishing Chi Yu for his literal interpretation.
He then claimed that he had instructed Wen Suxi to do everything, trying to take the blame. Chi Yu, still focused on protecting Lin Haoshu, insisted his initial report was the "truth," but eventually changed his statement, claiming it was only to help Lin Haoshu, not Wen Suxi. Ultimately, the police, considering their good attitude, issued a fine of 500 yuan.
Although relieved, Wen Suxi was still furious with Chi Yu, telling You You that after the charity dinner, she would take Chi Yu to a mental hospital. As they left the police station, Tang Mao arrived, having been contacted by You You. He suggested dinner at a restaurant to discuss work. Wen Suxi left with him, much to Lin Haoshu's quiet heartache, as he harbored a secret affection for her. From a distance, Chi Yu observed them.
At dinner, Wen Suxi spoke of her admiration for Tang Mao and her desire to help Lin Haoshu by buying and adapting his popular comic. Tang Mao then confessed his feelings for Wen Suxi, proposing they become an official couple to resolve her public crisis. He offered to start a new production company for her or leave his current position to support her from behind, so she wouldn't feel pressured. Wen Suxi remained silent, contemplating his offer.
That night, Lin Haoshu was drawing in his room when his roommate brought a girlfriend home, causing a disturbance. Lin Haoshu intervened, leading to a confrontation. The roommate's girlfriend snatched his sketchbook and recognized Wen Suxi from the recent news, mocking Lin Haoshu. A fight ensued, and Chi Yu, who had been following Lin Haoshu, appeared and intervened. Despite Chi Yu's presence, the argument escalated, resulting in Lin Haoshu being evicted by his landlord.
Now homeless, Lin Haoshu wandered the streets. Chi Yu followed, smiling contentedly as he watched Lin Haoshu. Feeling uncomfortable, Lin Haoshu tried to send Chi Yu away. However, Chi Yu soon reappeared, returning some lost drawings of Wen Suxi to Lin Haoshu. Chi Yu then informed Lin Haoshu that he had prepared "a proper room" for him, leading him to a luxurious guest suite. Lin Haoshu, initially excited by the opulent surroundings, was horrified to discover that Chi Yu intended to share the room, stating, "This is my room."
