Following Lu Li's abrupt departure, a stunned Jiang Yicheng returned home to face his father's severe criticism, which only intensified at the sight of Cheng Yueru's tears. Lost in thought about Lu Li, Jiang Yicheng barely registered their words. He promised his parents he would win her back, confessing that he genuinely liked her. He acknowledged that she had never given up on him, and now it was his turn to fight for their relationship.
Moved by his resolve, Cheng Yueru offered her full support. The next day, she accompanied Jiang Yicheng to Lu Li's home to apologize. However, Lu Li's father angrily confronted them, stating that Jiang Yicheng was the sole person responsible for ruining the marriage, and sent them away. Undeterred, Jiang Yicheng decided to wait outside, determined to learn Lu Li's whereabouts. Meanwhile, Lu Li started a new life in Chongqing.

Chen Yiming suggested a business trip, which gave Jiang Yicheng an idea: he would visit Lu Jingwen's company in Chongqing to discuss the "Boss" copyright, providing the perfect excuse to escape his mother's matchmaking. This was exactly what Jiang Zitong and Chen Yiming had planned, hoping a trip would give him a much-needed break from his relentless work. One evening, Lu Jingwen showed up at Lu Li's apartment for dinner.
He noted her unusually disciplined schedule and pressed her for her story. Lu Li reluctantly admitted she had been in an unrequited love for five years and had moved to Chongqing to start over.
