Following the matchmaking event, Lu Li and Jiang Yicheng find themselves alone together. Lu Li mentions she came with Jiang Zitong, and Jiang Yicheng, realizing his sister's intent to set them up, decides to embrace the situation and enjoy the day with Lu Li at the amusement park. At a caricature stall, Jiang Yicheng requests a drawing of a koala for Lu Li, while she presents one of a lion for him.
They both smile, recognizing the animals as symbols of each other. During their walk, Jiang Yicheng playfully asks Lu Li if she has removed him from her blacklist, and she confirms she did. He also teases her about her large appetite after she quickly finishes her water. Meanwhile, Jiang Zitong attempts to advance her "date" with Chen Yiming, asking if his heart is racing, which he denies.
When she shows him a caricature of them together, he is appalled by his own likeness, calling it ugly and the artist a conman. Jiang Zitong defends the drawing, treasuring it as their first portrait together. Later, after her high heels cause her pain, Chen Yiming shows his gentle side by kneeling to check her feet and then piggybacking her to a nearby shoe store, deepening Jiang Zitong's affection for him.
That evening, Jiang Yicheng and Lu Li are led to a honeymoon suite Jiang Zitong has booked, complete with a large bed covered in roses, making them both blush. Jiang Zitong interrupts them to remind a forgetful Jiang Yicheng that the next day is Lu Li's birthday, their first together, and urges him to celebrate it properly. Panicked, Jiang Yicheng rushes out to find a cake but all the shops are closed.
He resourcefully carves a watermelon into the shape of a cake and presents it to Lu Li in the courtyard, singing "Happy Birthday" by candlelight. Deeply moved, Lu Li calls it the most special birthday gift she's ever received. After she makes a wish, Jiang Yicheng promises he can make it come true, but playfully deflects when she seems about to confess her feelings, joking that he'd even give her his company if she wished for it.
Later, a tipsy Jiang Zitong enters Chen Yiming's room with wine, insisting they drink cross-cupped wine to celebrate the 3,285th day since they met. After he drinks, she tries to kiss him, but he gently pushes her away, reiterating that he only sees her as a younger sister. Distraught, Jiang Zitong removes her robe, standing naked before him to challenge his perception.
Averting his eyes, Chen Yiming tells her to learn self-love before leaving to sleep in her room, leaving her alone in his. Back in their suite, after Lu Li showers, she discovers sexy pyjamas left by Jiang Zitong and quickly changes back into her own clothes. Jiang Yicheng later finds the same pyjamas in the bathroom. The atmosphere grows awkward when a documentary about animal mating plays on TV, which Jiang Yicheng quickly turns off.
To ease the tension, Lu Li suggests they share the bed as they have on business trips. As they lie facing each other, she thanks him, telling him he's the first man besides her father to celebrate her birthday with her. When noise from an adjacent room disturbs them, Lu Li offers her earphones, and they share them, listening to music together until they fall asleep.
The next morning, Chen Yiming cancels his plan to leave for work upon learning it's Lu Li’s actual birthday. The four of them ride tandem bikes to a silver workshop. There, Chen Yiming makes a pair of ear studs engraved with "ZT" for Jiang Zitong. Lu Li crafts two keychains, giving one to Jiang Yicheng as a thank you. When Jiang Zitong dismissively asks for the keychain Lu Li is making, Lu Li refuses.
Jiang Yicheng attempts to make a ring for Lu Li but, not knowing her size, creates a simple loop which he humorously calls an "artistic circle." Lu Li suggests adding a chain to wear it as a necklace. On their way back, Lu Li's parents call to wish her a happy birthday. Jiang Yicheng takes the phone, promising they will both visit soon, delighting her parents.
Insisting on celebrating her official birthday properly despite the watermelon cake, he takes her to a cake shop. There, she decides they should make their own cake, complete with their portraits. Jiang Yicheng guides her hand as they decorate their sweet creation together.
