The Journey of Chongzi Episode 30 Recap
> The Journey of Chongzi Recap
After Luo Yinfan expressed disbelief that Chong Zi would kill a fellow disciple, an elder vehemently insisted that Chong Zi, now a demon, was indeed responsible for Chengfeng's death, accusing Luo Yinfan of always protecting her and warning that it would harm both him and Nanhua. Luo Yinfan maintained his conviction that Chong Zi's nature would prevent her from indiscriminately killing innocents.
Meanwhile, the malevolent King Jinchi, an evil immortal residing in Chiyan Mountain, terrorized the land by trapping and draining the essences of living beings. At a council of immortal sects convened by Zhuo Yao, strategies were discussed to combat Jinchi, though Nanhua was notably excluded. The Kunlun Sect, led by Yu Xuzi, volunteered for the mission, prompting Yu Du of Nanhua to dispatch Qin Ke and a group of disciples to assist in King Jinchi's eradication.
Upon arriving at Chiyan Mountain, Qin Ke and Zhuo Hao intervened to stop Yu Xuzi from blowing up Jinchi Cave, fearing the destruction would harm innocent mortals in the valley below. Yu Xuzi, after a moment's thought, sealed the cave entrance with an Apricot Fairy Tree, aiming to force King Jinchi out for a direct confrontation. From a distance, Chong Zi and Mu Yu observed as King Jinchi bravely fought against numerous immortal sect members, holding his own.
Witnessing Yu Xuzi gravely wound Lady Bai, King Jinchi's wife, to coerce his surrender, Chong Zi was enraged by the underhanded tactic. Declaring her intention to help King Jinchi defeat the immortal sects, she attacked Yu Xuzi. Zhuo Hao and Qin Ke tried to persuade Chong Zi to abandon her path, but Yu Xuzi seized the opportunity to launch a sneak attack. Zhuo Hao, without hesitation, shielded Chong Zi, sustaining an injury himself.
Just then, Luo Yinfan descended from the sky, ordering all immortal sect members to withdraw, leaving him alone with Chong Zi. Luo Yinfan confronted Chong Zi, asking if she had killed Chengfeng. Chong Zi offered no defense, her silence taken as a confirmation that deepened their mutual misunderstanding. She returned the Starlight staff to him, signifying a complete severance of their ties.
Consumed by anger and guilt, Luo Yinfan insisted on taking her back, but Chong Zi fiercely resisted, brandishing a demon sword and striking at him without remorse. Luo Yinfan evaded her attacks, refusing to retaliate. Seeing the escalating tension, Mu Yu intervened to break their standoff. Luo Yinfan's intense emotional state triggered his Heart Poison, his mind consumed by an overwhelming obsession with Chong Zi.
Chong Zi noticed his distressed expression, watched him weakly collapse to the ground, and paused, conflicted, before hardening her heart and departing with Mu Yu. Back in Nanhua, Yu Xuzi questioned Luo Yinfan's failure to eliminate Chong Zi, but a Nanhua elder defended him and dispatched Qin Ke to track Chong Zi's whereabouts. In the Demon Realm, King Jinchi and Lady Bai submitted to Wang Yue.
Wang Yue, recognizing their assistance to Chong Zi, bestowed upon King Jinchi the title of King Jinchi and the status of Protector, granting him freedom from strict demon regulations and allowing him to command his former subordinates. Lady Bai, though reluctant to engage in the conflicts between immortals and demons, found comfort in the demon realm offering them refuge. King Jinchi promised her that once the situation stabilized, he would personally appeal to Chong Zi for their freedom.
For her crucial success in bringing King Jinchi into the demon fold, Wang Yue publicly awarded Chong Zi the Tianmo Token and formally announced their impending marriage, proclaiming her as Queen Zi. Meanwhile, Qin Ke and Ting Xue investigated a series of incidents in the mortal realm where young women's pure qi was being absorbed by demons.
They discovered that demon disciples were harvesting the essence to refine Gilt Rainbow Beads for a necklace, intended as a wedding gift for Queen Zi. Ting Xue, feigning concern, swiftly conveyed this news to Luo Yinfan, advising him to mentally prepare for Chong Zi's upcoming marriage to Wang Yue. That very night, wedding invitations were distributed across all six realms, announcing the grand wedding for the following day.
Wang Yue visited Chong Zi in Shuiyue City, presenting her with the wedding dress once worn by the former Demon Queen Shui Ji. He mused that Shui Ji never fully ascended to the title of Demon Queen, emphasizing that Chong Zi, as the true Queen Zi, would command all demons and needed a "battle robe with history." He then declared that their wedding would take place the very next day.
Chong Zi, deeply conflicted as she looked at the gown, momentarily heard Luo Yinfan’s voice, filled with an unbearable mix of anger and sorrow. Upon hearing the news of the impending marriage, Zhuo Hao, still recovering from his injuries, rushed to the Demon Palace, demanding to see Chong Zi but was refused entry. Chong Zi, dismissing her demon subordinates including Yin Xinmo, confronted Zhuo Hao, urging him to cease his pursuit.
Zhuo Hao, aware that Chong Zi had no feelings for Wang Yue, pleaded with her to marry someone she truly loved, defining it as his ultimate boundary. However, Chong Zi remained resolute, refusing to return to the immortal sects. When Mu Yu moved to strike Zhuo Hao, Chong Zi intervened to protect him, wounding Zhuo Hao herself.
She sternly warned him against clinging to false hopes, declaring that immortals and demons were destined adversaries and that she would one day unleash a massacre upon the immortal sects. With these words, Chong Zi left with Mu Yu. Zhuo Hao watched her retreating figure, collapsing in despair, his heart utterly broken.
