> Be My Princess Recap

Mu Tingzhou awakened from a vivid dream where he was Mu Yun, the Grand Tutor, on the day of Princess Ming Wei's wedding. In the dream, commoners congratulated the Grand Tutor on his own wedding, which was happening on the same day as the princess's. An attendant warned him about missing the propitious time. Despite this, Mu Yun abruptly rode towards the Princess's wedding procession.

The Emperor appeared, warning Mu Yun that advancing further would be an act of defiance, akin to treason. Undeterred, Mu Yun drew his sword and forced his way through, declaring to the Princess, "Your Highness, I am taking you home." As a sword flew toward them, the Princess recoiled and almost fell, but Mu Yun caught her, holding her close. The real-world wedding ceremony of Han Xiaoya, Ming Wei’s best friend, commenced.

Ming Wei, a bridesmaid, was popular with the guests. The bride, Han Xiaoya—privately dubbed a "scheming girl" by another friend for her behavior—grew jealous and invited Ming Wei onto the stage, ostensibly to find her a "reliable" partner after a past bad experience. Despite Ming Wei's discomfort, Han Xiaoya pushed further, instructing male guests to collect "love stickers" from waiters and place them on Ming Wei to show their interest.

As men swarmed a distressed Ming Wei, Han Xiaoya announced, "Gentlemen, the more you stick, the more connection you have with Ming Wei," aiming to humiliate her. Suddenly, Mu Tingzhou appeared, shocking the crowd who recognized him as the Best Actor. Assuming his "Grand Tutor" persona, he rushed to Ming Wei, addressing her as "Your Highness," and apologized for being late.

He then angrily denounced Han Xiaoya as an "evil and mean woman" unworthy of being the Princess’s friend, wrapped Ming Wei in a sheer veil, and carried her out of the venue as bewildered guests recorded the scene on their phones. Shortly after, the incident became a national sensation, trending widely online. Shen Su and Xiao Zhao, Mu Tingzhou’s manager and assistant, struggled to contain the public reaction, with Shen Su frantically directing Xiao Zhao to manage the narrative online.

Seeing the news, Ming Wei's parents called her. Her father expressed concern that Mu Tingzhou was feigning his condition with "ill intentions." Ming Wei tried to explain Mu Tingzhou’s amnesia and peculiar behavior, noting he even "kneels down for me frequently." Her mother, worried for Ming Wei's new acting career, suggested she quit. Ming Wei insisted she loved acting and would protect herself.

Her father then reassured her mother, acknowledging her underlying fear that Ming Wei’s biological father might see the news, and promised to protect their family. Still worried, Ming Wei's mother wanted to visit, but her father assured her he would handle it.

Still in his Grand Tutor persona, Mu Tingzhou acknowledged he had erred by not protecting Ming Wei from the "scoundrels" at the wedding but staunchly defended his criticism of her attire, asserting it was "destructive to the morals" and his duty to guide her. Ming Wei countered that he misunderstood modern fashion and used his own publicized photos to highlight his "double standard."

She challenged his archaic logic, questioning why he would serve as her assistant if he believed she should be confined. Mu Tingzhou confessed his inability to change reality or restore her "honor," reiterating that his only purpose was to protect her. Ming Wei urged him to adapt to the modern world to truly fulfill his promise.

Feeling guilty for the chaos they caused, she proposed three rules: first, he was never to kneel to her; second, disagreements must be discussed calmly, with her retaining absolute control over her choices, including her clothing; and third, he must maintain a professional distance and avoid physical contact to prevent misunderstandings. Later, Xiao Zhao spoke privately to Mu Tingzhou, affirming his loyalty and acknowledging his psychological "illness," promising to always be by his side.

Mu Tingzhou, still in character, grandly thanked "Steward Xiao" for his loyalty, vowing to recommend him for a general's post. Distracted by her newfound notoriety, Ming Wei confided in Shen Su that she wanted to be an actress known for her skill, not for scandals. Shen Su reassured her that enduring "slanders" is a prerequisite for receiving "praises" and advised her to view it as a test.

The following day, Ming Wei, Mu Tingzhou’s family, and Xiao Zhao held a press conference. Ming Wei expressed her regret over Mu Tingzhou’s illness and pledged to cooperate with his treatment, urging the public to create a positive environment for his recovery. Then, Mu Tingzhou's family, speaking on his behalf, thanked the public and Ming Wei.

They explained that Mu Tingzhou's "antiquated ideas" as the "Grand Tutor" led him to believe Ming Wei’s gown was "inappropriate," causing him to forcibly remove her from the wedding. They apologized for the impact on Ming Wei and requested that fans support her, while also warning the media against intrusive reporting that could worsen Mu Tingzhou's condition, threatening legal action if necessary. The next morning, Mu Tingzhou arrived at Ming Wei’s residence to prepare her breakfast.

Adhering to ancient rules of status, he insisted that Ming Wei, as the "Princess," eat first, while he, Xiao Zhao, and Ming Qiao waited. Annoyed, Ming Wei asserted that everyone was equal and declared she would not eat unless they all joined her. Faced with her resolve, Mu Tingzhou reluctantly allowed everyone to eat together.

Later, as Ming Wei prepared for a training class, Xiao Zhao offered to help choose an outfit, warning that her fashion choices would now be scrutinized. However, Mu Tingzhou forbade Xiao Zhao, an "outsider," from entering Ming Wei's bedroom. Instead, he had Ming Wei bring her clothes out for his inspection. When Xiao Zhao reached out to help, Mu Tingzhou insisted he wear a glove before touching the princess's garments.

Finding her entire wardrobe unsatisfactory, he declared he would buy her new clothes, bringing ample cash for a shopping trip. At the clothing store, Ming Wei was happily trying on clothes when a fan recognized her and asked for an autograph. Ming Wei initially denied her identity, but when the fan expressed genuine admiration for her past work as a Hanfu model, she happily agreed. The fan excitedly thanked "Princess Ming Wei," which immediately drew the attention of Mu Tingzhou. Still in his Grand Tutor persona, he rushed over, angrily questioning who dared to approach "Her Highness" so brazenly in public.
