Following Gu Hai's move into Bai Luoyin's home, their relationship intensifies as they begin to eat and sleep together, becoming as inseparable as a couple. During a basketball game, Bai Luoyin is fouled and hits his head on the basketball pole. Enraged, Gu Hai attacks the opposing player. You Qi intervenes, breaking up the fight and urging Gu Hai to take the injured Bai Luoyin home. Back at home, Gu Hai carefully tends to Bai Luoyin's facial wound.
He then warns Bai Luoyin to stay away from Yang Meng, whom he calls effeminate. Bai Luoyin defends Yang Meng as his childhood friend, prompting Gu Hai to jokingly suggest Yang Meng's name should be changed to sound "cuter." Later that night in bed, Gu Hai’s wandering hands wake Bai Luoyin, who angrily warns him to stop or be kicked out. Gu Hai then steers the conversation toward their sexual experiences, asking if Bai Luoyin is a virgin.
Bai Luoyin deflects, stating he is if Gu Hai is. When Gu Hai presses Bai Luoyin about his first time, Bai Luoyin refuses to discuss his ex-girlfriend, so Gu Hai offers to recount his own experience with Jin Lulu instead. On their way to school, they find that Aunt Zou's food stall has been vandalized, with her tables and chairs smashed by thugs the previous night. Sympathetic, Gu Hai uses his family connections to arrange a storefront for her.
He visits an official, Mr. Zhang, and to ensure the matter is handled swiftly, he "borrows" Mr. Zhang's prized dog. Worried for his dog, Mr. Zhang quickly secures a storefront for Aunt Zou. Unaware of this, Bai Luoyin’s father tells him that Aunt Zou was luckily chosen for a government program providing vendors with a free storefront. Bai Luoyin immediately suspects Gu Hai is responsible. Later on the rooftop, he thanks Gu Hai, who doesn't deny it.
After Bai Luoyin observes that his father seems to like Gu Hai, he asks about Gu Hai's own feelings. Gu Hai confesses, "How can I like you this much?" Gu Hai later takes Bai Luoyin to a KTV to meet his friends, Li Shuo and Zhou Sihu. The friends reminisce about Gu Hai's intense devotion to his ex-girlfriend, Jin Lulu. When Zhou Sihu gets too close to Gu Hai, Gu Hai forcefully shoves him away.
Li Shuo then explains to a surprised Bai Luoyin that Gu Hai despises being touched by others. That night, Gu Hai again makes advances on Bai Luoyin in bed, claiming he's just being close like he is with his friends. Bai Luoyin angrily refutes him, revealing that Li Shuo told him they never did such things. Annoyed by Gu Hai's persistence, Bai Luoyin gets out of bed to play with their dog outside. Left alone, a dejected Gu Hai mutters that in Bai Luoyin's eyes, he's not even as important as a dog.
