Where the Lost Ones Go Episode 10 Recap
> Where the Lost Ones Go Recap
Ye Zi’s father was finally discharged from the hospital, bringing a much-needed lift to Ye Zi’s spirits. Her mother cautioned her to be careful, as Ye Zi had spent long days commuting between home and the hospital. Ye Zi promised to listen, acknowledging her mother’s care. Her father, feeling well, told Ye Zi that with her mother by his side, she should focus on her own work. He noted that as a renowned comics artist, she should always be busy.
Ye Zi explained that a company had purchased the IP for one of her comics and planned to turn it into an animation. However, after paying the deposit, they had rescheduled numerous times, leaving her with unexpected free time. Her father wondered if she didn't want that. The next morning, as Yuan Lang left for work, he reminded Zhu Xuan about breakfast. However, when Ye Zi received an urgent call from Zhu Xuan, she rushed over.
Zhu Xuan, appearing distressed, announced she was "probably pregnant." Ye Zi was surprised but deemed it good news, asking if Yuan Lang knew. Zhu Xuan said no and stopped Ye Zi from calling him, insisting she would tell him herself. Zhu Xuan expressed her worries, feeling it wasn't the "perfect time" for a baby. When Ye Zi asked if it was Yuan Lang's child, Zhu Xuan affirmed it.
Ye Zi was confused by Zhu Xuan's uncertainty, but Zhu Xuan explained she had missed her period for two months and had no appetite, even for her favorite foods, making her "sure" she was pregnant. Ye Zi pointed out that without a hospital visit or a test, she couldn't be certain. Zhu Xuan confessed she was too scared to test. Ye Zi reasoned that since she was married, having children was normal.
Finally, Liu Xinran offered to buy a pregnancy test stick, and Zhu Xuan, still hesitant, took it to the bathroom. Watching Zhu Xuan, Ye Zi recalled her own pregnancy scare during college. During that time, she was unusually quiet and avoided Xiang Zeyi, struggling to confide in him. Her roommates noticed her odd behavior, with Zhu Xuan questioning if Ye Zi had been "late" for her period and hinting at intimacy with Xiang Zeyi, which Ye Zi vehemently denied.
Cheng Xi also mentioned seeing Ye Zi searching for something on her computer, though she couldn’t make out the details. Zhu Xuan relayed these concerns to Xiang Zeyi, who was already frustrated by Ye Zi’s recent distance. He sought advice from an "Old Man," who, amidst his drinking, philosophized about how women can make men feel like "terrorists" by withholding answers. The Old Man advised Xiang Zeyi to reflect on their shared experiences to find the solution.
Still confused, Xiang Zeyi continued to ponder. One morning, Zhu Xuan, the last to wake in the dorm, found Ye Zi's computer on and discovered pregnancy-related searches. Immediately, she called Xiang Zeyi, who was still dwelling on the Old Man's words and began to suspect Ye Zi might indeed be pregnant. When he asked Zhu Xuan to find Ye Zi for him, she urged him to go himself, insisting he take action. Xiang Zeyi found Ye Zi in her classroom.
She tried to ignore him and leave, but he held her. He then gently lifted her into his arms and carried her to the art room. There, he placed her on a chair, apologized for everything, and presented a small box. Inside were medicine and a pair of tiny baby shoes. He earnestly said that if she was pregnant, they would have the baby, and he would learn to be a good father.
He confessed he imagined their baby as a mermaid, like the one she loved, and wanted to name their child Merkid. He made her promise to share everything with him, reassuring her that he would always be there. However, Ye Zi simply smiled. She confessed she wasn't pregnant; her recent nausea was merely due to a stomachache. Xiang Zeyi was visibly disappointed, having already envisioned their family.
As they buried the small box under a tree, Xiang Zeyi lingered, whispering "Merkid, my kid," clearly reluctant to let go of the idea. Ye Zi gently reminded him, "Do you remember the first time we met?" and affectionately pulled him away. Back in the present, Zhu Xuan emerged from the bathroom. The pregnancy test showed only one line, confirming she wasn't pregnant. A collective sigh of relief swept through her friends.
Liu Xinran and Cheng Xi soon left, while Ye Zi stayed behind to comfort a visibly sad Zhu Xuan. Zhu Xuan admitted that while she was relieved about not being pregnant due to Yuan Lang's career focus and her own concerns about body shape and self-care, a part of her had truly wanted the baby. She concluded that "love is everything," and they compromise for each other in life.
Ye Zi then joined Zhu Xuan in tidying the room, playfully calling each other "idiot." Meanwhile, Xiang Zeyi was eating instant noodles when Mr. Shao arrived. Mr. Shao, lamenting Xiang Zeyi's solitary eating habits, offered him a major project: directing an animated series based on a popular "Ancient style" comic. Xiang Zeyi was initially reluctant, but Mr. Shao insisted he just "have a look." Upon opening the portfolio, Xiang Zeyi saw the artist's name and realized the comic was by Ye Zi. He slowly closed the album, falling into a deep silence.
