Following his grandmother Shi Junfang's disappearance, Hua Biao frantically searched the neighborhood. His teacher, Kong Xiaojun, arrived looking for him about the missed parent-teacher meeting and, upon learning the situation, joined the search. Hua Biao's friend, Lan, had already called the police, but they could not file a missing person case for 24 hours. As night fell, Hua Biao persuaded Kong Xiaojun to wait at the school reception while he took the teacher's bike to continue searching.
Eventually, the police brought a safe Shi Junfang home. She explained she had gotten lost on her way to apologize to Kong Xiaojun and had stopped to buy desserts. Relieved, Hua Biao settled in to watch anime with his grandmother, completely forgetting about Kong Xiaojun, who waited at the school reception all night. Meanwhile, Yang Xi's parents, Du Yuemei and her husband, returned from the school.
Du Yuemei berated Yang Xi for running away from the director and then presented her chemistry paper, which scored 85, accusing her of cheating. She argued that the test, designed by the competitive Hui Ying school, was the hardest they had ever taken, yet Yang Xi achieved her highest score. Furious at her mother's distrust, Yang Xi was comforted by her father, who expressed faith in her but suggested she retake the test to prove her innocence.
Yang Xi accepted the challenge, redoing the paper in the living room under her parents' watch and scoring an even higher 90. To apologize for their doubts, her parents treated Yang Xi and Li Yu to a meal, acknowledging her genuine progress. Elsewhere, Situ Ertiao faced his parents' wrath for skipping the midterm exam. Ertiao cleverly used a collection of his father's "beauty" name cards as leverage, blackmailing him into helping with a scheme.
At school, Yang Ming warned Hua Biao that news of their private tutoring was spreading and handed him a letter from Yang Xiaohemei, who was in detention. In a private conversation, the director first apologized to Hua Biao for accusing him of theft, then pressed him to explain the tutoring. Hua Biao finally admitted he did it for money. Meanwhile, Li Yu, Yang Xi, and Situ Ertiao read Yang Xiaohemei's letter, in which she expressed deep remorse for causing them trouble and felt she no longer deserved their friendship.
Moved, the friends planned to cheer her up. That evening, Hua Biao created a diversion by shouting "Fire!" through a loudspeaker, drawing residents outside. Ertiao distracted Yang Xiaohemei's parents while Yang Xi and Li Yu whisked her away to a swimming pool that Ertiao had rented out just for her, encouraging her to forget her worries. The next day, Li Yu developed a high fever and broke out in chickenpox.
Due to a widespread outbreak, the school announced a one-week closure. Li Yu went to recover at Yang Xi's house. Concerned about the missed class time, Kong Xiaojun decided to organize home-visit tutoring sessions. He sought out Hua Biao, who was still withdrawn and repeated his desire to be "deposed." Kong Xiaojun refused, insisting Hua Biao's help was essential. He showed Hua Biao a detailed map of student addresses he had made, assigning him a group of classmates.
Kong Xiaojun expressed immense pride in Hua Biao, calling him a "responsible big man," and apologized for not understanding his family's financial struggles sooner. Touched by his teacher's sincerity and a gift of chocolate, Hua Biao accepted the task, reflecting on how lucky he was to be Kong Xiaojun's student. At Situ Ertiao's home, the phone continued to ring with calls from Leon's fans. It was revealed that the "Leon" on the phone was actually Ertiao's father.
A radio broadcast coincidentally reported that the real Leon had contracted chickenpox and was resting in Hong Kong. While still impersonating the star, Ertiao's father advised his son to be more careful in the future and to focus on his studies.
