That evening, the director treated everyone to a farewell dinner.
He confessed to Nan Chu that while the dance club was his dream, the financial reality was too much to bear. Believing Nan Chu had the passion and determination he now lacked, he asked her to take over the club, as it was the only way he could leave with peace of mind. Soon after, the landlady arrived demanding rent and revealed that the director, Le Zhiwei, had disappeared.
Nan Chu stepped up, signing an IOU for the outstanding debt of over 290,000 yuan and promising to pay it within a week. Desperate, she contacted Shen Guangzong of Beiyao Entertainment to arrange a meeting.
