She feels she is selfish and incapable of being as selfless as him. For years, she has tried her best to be understanding, but now realizes she was forcing herself and him, leaving her exhausted. She formally proposes divorce, believing it would be a relief for both of them. Yu Qilei admits his shortcomings towards Milan, Miaomiao, and their family, asking for another chance.
He promises to apply for a transfer once things at the station settle down so he can be more present. Milan questions if he is truly able or willing to transfer. Lin Luxiao, worried for his safety, follows him to pull him out. Unexpectedly, a steel plate collapses, and Lin Luxiao shields Shiquan, taking the impact and sustaining an injury. Lin Luxiao is transported to the emergency room. Yijiu and Shiquan continue arguing about the incident, with Shiquan blaming Yijiu.
Lou Mingye arrives and severely reprimands them both for their actions, labeling their mistakes as basic and questioning their fitness for the special division unit. He also criticizes Liu Ruyi's leadership. Liu Ruyi, angered by the incident and Lou Mingye's reaction, confronts him, asserting that the issue is not just with Yijiu and Shiquan, but with the stressful competitive system Lou Mingye implemented, which is negatively impacting everyone's morale and teamwork.
He declares that if Lou Mingye continues this approach, he will report the situation to Captain Meng, as they cannot effectively operate under such conditions.
