However, Yiyue, asserting her independence, prefers to eat her steak her own way and suggests that He Qiaoyan and Poppet leave if he dislikes it.
Soon after, He Qiaoyan receives a call from Mr. Rong, who delivers unfortunate news: their contract cannot be finalized. Lin's Group had previously signed an exclusive, long-term agreement with Mr. Rong's company headquarters, meaning his company can now only collaborate with Lin's in China, stalling He Qiaoyan's bracelet project. Meanwhile, Wen Gu, reflecting on Yang Ruowei’s harsh words calling him a "rotten person," decides to overhaul his lifestyle.
He calls his friends to inform them he will no longer attend late-night parties or accept introductions to new girls, declaring he now has someone special in his heart. Arriving at the office unusually early, Wen Gu surprises his colleagues by immediately calling a company-wide meeting. He brushes off concerns about his assistant Yang Ruowei’s absence due to fever.
Demonstrating a newfound seriousness, he reviews the company’s financial reports, noting a 12% drop in growth, and meticulously outlines a packed daily schedule for his managers, emphasizing the need for regular reports and system optimization. Before he can finish, Ruowei playfully interrupts, declares he has lost the bet, and pushes him out of the room, seemingly flustered by his implicit confession. At the banquet venue, He Qiaoyan calls Qin Yiyue. With a heavy heart, Yiyue tells him she is pursuing her dream of studying in Germany for a year and might settle there. Lin Wei, enraged that He Qiaoyan values Qin Yiyue more than the entire Lin Group, calls him childish and undignified, especially after Yiyue has abandoned him. When He Qiaoyan asserts that his relationship with Yiyue is none of her concern, Lin Wei, unwilling to accept his rejection, attempts to forcefully kiss him. She claims Yiyue broke up with him to spare him from further entanglement in the past, urging him to drop his investigation. At that moment, Mr. Zhang calls his Aunt.
He Qiaoyan snatches the phone, finally cornering Mr. Zhang, who, to He Qiaoyan's shock, reveals that He Qiaoyan himself was the driver during the accident many years ago, triggering a flood of traumatic memories.
