When Wen Gu expressed surprise at his uncharacteristic happiness, He Qiaoyan simply stated that Dr. Qin liked him. Wen Gu, calling it a significant development, urged He Qiaoyan to seize the opportunity.
Yiyue, on the other hand, was overcome with embarrassment after her confession and quickly left after they exchanged a simple "good night." Returning home, she confided in Ruowei, explaining that He Qiaoyan had said nothing in response. Ruowei, deeming He Qiaoyan an "asshole" for his silence, commiserated with Yiyue. The phone line remained open after the crash, and through it, Aunt had heard a young woman—now revealed to be Yiyue—rescue the crying Poppet from the wreckage and sing that exact lullaby to soothe him. At the parent-child day event, Poppet, Yiyue, and He Qiaoyan performed together, presenting a harmonious family image. Afterward, Lin Wei appeared, claiming to be there for a nearby business meeting but clearly intending to prove she could connect with Poppet.
He Qiaoyan cut her off, stating a marriage alliance was impossible. Undeterred, Lin Wei tried to bond with Poppet, who mischievously challenged her to catch fish for him using only her bare hands. He Qiaoyan and Yiyue, concerned after some time had passed, went to check on them. They found Lin Wei in the water, having twisted her ankle. He Qiaoyan carried her out and scolded Poppet for deliberately putting her in harm's way.
