President He kept replaying that segment of the recording and even went to Wen Gu’s house to talk about it, smiling the whole time — very out of character. When he said Dr. Qin liked him, Wen Gu was shocked. Qin Yiyue also told Yang Ruowei, who was just as stunned. But when she heard He Qiaoyan didn’t say anything in return, she instantly called him a scumbag.
Still, Qin Yiyue believed that He Qiaoyan didn’t like her and decided to give up. On the other hand, He Qiaoyan analyzed that Qin Yiyue only canceled the contract because she thought he didn’t like her. But he did. Wen Gu warned that if he didn’t respond or take responsibility, it would come across as disinterest — and Ning Fang might swoop in. But He Qiaoyan confidently believed that what he could offer Qin Yiyue, Ning Fang couldn’t.
The next day, Ning Fang came to pick up Dr. Qin and take her to the mountain lodge. Coincidentally, Xiaobao overheard the plan and called President He, who immediately drove back and took Xiaobao to the lodge too. He Qiaoyan constantly interrupted conversations between Dr. Qin and Ning Fang, trying to explain himself. But Qin Yiyue thought he was explaining why he didn’t like her.
