During the holiday period, Duan Zhenyu initially felt unloved by his parents. However, he later discovered his mother's profound care when he learned she had specially cooked braised chicken feet (and pig trotters) for him after he was injured, which finally brought him relief and resolved his internal imbalance. He also received crab meat from his sister, Duan Jiabao.
When their parents gave Duan Jiabao a black card, she offered it to Duan Zhenyu, but their father stated he had other arrangements for his son. Duan Jiabao accepted the card but later secretly gave it to Duan Zhenyu, making him very happy. Luo Yan spent time with Lu Ran's family, where Lu Ran's parents expressed great fondness for her, praising her dumpling-making skills and suggesting a joint family meal with Luo Yan's mother, Wei Yunjie.
They also presented Luo Yan with a red packet during dinner. While Luo Yan was enjoying New Year's Eve dinner at Lu Ran's, Wei Yunjie was rushing home on the highway.
