To Be A Brave One Episode 19 Recap
> To Be A Brave One Recap
Lin Zhanhong and Shao Moli met for a meal, where Lin inquired about the slow progress of the Hongxing Telecom acquisition. He suggested that Shao Moli should be more aggressive, pointing out that in his famous cases abroad, he "devoured everything without spitting the bones." Shao Moli explained that Hongxing Telecom had many older employees whose resettlement needed careful handling, attributing his past ruthlessness to his youth.
Lin, however, smiled, implying Shao Moli was overthinking things, stressing that "a piece of fatty meat that is unable to protect itself needs to be swallowed in one gulp." At home, Zhou Yuan was impatiently overseeing Yiyi's piano practice, growing angry when she made repeated mistakes. Mi Lu arrived and intervened, telling Zhou Yuan to speak to their child kindly. She then gently explained to Yiyi that her father wasn't angry but wanted her to understand the importance of perseverance.
She then allowed Yiyi to stop practicing and play with toys in her room. Afterward, Zhou Yuan looked troubled, admitting to Mi Lu that the Hongxing Telecom case wasn't progressing smoothly. After considering the situation, Mi Lu offered to join the project. She acknowledged that Zhou Yuan was determined to see it through, but she didn't want him to be constantly worried. She wanted to help in any way she could and encouraged him to go console Yiyi.
Zhou Yuan, however, asked Mi Lu not to spoil their child all the time. Fei'er sought out An Yu, revealing that she had learned about An Yu's past from her father and that Shao Moli (also known as Mu En) had also shared their story. Intrigued, Fei'er expressed a strong desire to paint An Yu. She mentioned that Shao Moli had taken her to their "secret base," which she found "very special."
An Yu downplayed it as mere childhood memories, suggesting they were "all in the past," but Fei'er disagreed, feeling it was "still in progress." Fei'er asked An Yu to help her with her art, stating that to paint better, she needed to understand An Yu's true feelings.
She then directly asked An Yu if she liked Shao Moli, noting that in all the years she had known him, she had never seen him look at anyone with such "love, radiance, and warmth" as he did An Yu. Fei'er believed An Yu must feel it too, and added that she was sure An Yu also had that same look in her eyes for Shao Moli.
As Fei'er sketched her, An Yu found herself recalling cherished moments and conversations with Shao Moli, a subtle smile gracing her lips. Meanwhile, Mi Lu and Yiyi were out buying a birthday cake. Zhou Yuan called Mi Lu, informing her he would be home late and wished to be alone. Despite his request, Mi Lu sent someone to follow him, a detail Zhou Yuan quickly noticed. Zhou Yuan visited Baling Memorial Park to see his parents’ grave.
He spoke to them, reflecting on his current "happy life" with Mi Lu and Yiyi, but also promised he was "working hard" and would "definitely let them rest in peace." Back in his car, feeling weary from Mi Lu's constant watch, he pulled out an old photo of himself and An Yu taken during a past birthday celebration, holding it to his forehead as he remembered their happy times together.
Late that night, Zhou Yuan returned home to find Mi Lu waiting for him, having fallen asleep at the table. She woke up, presented him with the cake Yiyi had chosen, and sang "Happy Birthday." Zhou Yuan was touched. They made a wish together, with Mi Lu wishing for all of Zhou Yuan's desires to come true, which surprised him.
Mi Lu then suggested he accompany her on an upcoming business trip to Singapore to relax, but Zhou Yuan declined, citing numerous company meetings and his responsibility to care for Yiyi since their nanny, Aunt Chen, was away. An Yu, having deeply considered Fei'er's words, woke from a dream about her past rejection of Shao Moli. She went to the secret base on her balcony and called Shao Moli.
Asking where he was and expressing her desire to see him, she was surprised when Shao Moli stepped out from behind her, saying he also wanted to see her. Filled with joy, An Yu approached him, confessing, "I love you so much. Let's be together." Shao Moli embraced her tightly, and they shared a passionate kiss, cementing their relationship. Later, Shao Moli and An Yu returned to their shared apartment, intending to announce their new relationship to their friends.
However, their plans were preempted by Kai and Lailai, who had been anxiously waiting to make their own announcement. Kai declared that he and Lailai had been secretly together for a while, hiding it out of consideration for An Yu and Shao Moli's feelings, but now they wanted to "bravely make their relationship public" and asked for their blessings. An Yu and Shao Moli, who already knew about Kai and Lailai's relationship, expressed their congratulations.
They decided to postpone their own announcement, agreeing that "joy needs to come in batches," and they would find another opportunity. The next morning, both couples headed to work. Kai drove Lailai, while Shao Moli rode his motorcycle with An Yu. Nearing their office, An Yu asked Shao Moli to drop her off so she could walk in separately.
Inside the Zhuoyue Financial Group building, Shao Moli intentionally held up a colleague, Su Dayong, to ensure he and An Yu could share an elevator ride alone. In the elevator, Shao Moli suggested they make their relationship public, but An Yu reminded him of Zhuoyue's policy prohibiting relationships between employees in the same department. Shao Moli jokingly lamented joining Zhuoyue and playfully tried to kiss An Yu. Their intimate moment was abruptly interrupted when the elevator doors opened, revealing Fang Li standing outside.
