At Cheng Feng's book cafe, a group of hostile fans caused a commotion, falsely accusing the cafe of serving dessert with a fly in it.
When a staff member offered a replacement and asked them to stop breaking items, the fans escalated their demands, insisting on an apology and a complimentary meal. Cheng Feng calmly intervened. She agreed to an apology but first demanded compensation for the broken Italian plate, which was part of an expensive set now rendered incomplete. She quoted a price of 4,000 yuan.

An Yin gave evasive answers, denying Cheng Feng was an irresponsible person but hinting that Cheng Feng left without notice due to urgent matters. When asked if Cheng Feng's absence caused her injury, An Yin redirected, stating she was hurt because she was not accustomed to dancing alone, not because of Cheng Feng. A reporter suggested Cheng Feng’s actions indirectly caused the injury, but An Yin insisted it was her own clumsiness.
The reporters then probed into the impact of her injury and if her boyfriend ended their relationship due to her disability. An Yin feigned distress, refusing to answer further. As Cheng Feng arrived, reporters immediately swarmed her, accusing her of causing An Yin's leg injury and claiming her years of charity work were merely an act of atonement. Before Cheng Feng could fully respond, An Yin deliberately fell, further manipulating the scene to make Cheng Feng appear heartless.
Jiang Dian and Dai Baoling arrived swiftly, intercepting the aggressive reporters and escorting An Yin and Cheng Feng away. An Yin subtly touched her injured leg, seemingly disappointed that the endorsement was merely suspended and not fully terminated. After the call, Dai Baoling suggested that An Yin, as the affected party, could publicly clarify the events to help Cheng Feng. Cheng Feng, however, dismissed the idea, believing it would only lead to accusations of using a friend to whitewash her image, further exacerbating her troubles. Dai Baoling then pledged to uncover the true culprit behind the malicious rumors.
Back at the book cafe, Jiang Dian and Dai Baoling accompanied Cheng Feng. Lian Ruoshen and Lu Bie, dressed in comical sumo wrestling costumes, performed a dance to cheer Cheng Feng up. They then gathered for a hotpot dinner, to which Lian Ruoshen had also invited Pei Xiaoyun. Dai Baoling directly confronted Pei Xiaoyun about their strained friendship, proposing a toast to put their past disagreements behind them if they could reconcile.
Pei Xiaoyun accepted the toast, explaining her anger stemmed from Dai Baoling secretly encouraging her student to enter the entertainment industry without her knowledge, an act she strongly disapproved of. She admitted that she had thought a lot and may have been unreasonable. They reconciled, though Pei Xiaoyun playfully postponed making peace with Lian Ruoshen. Later, Lian Ruoshen escorted a tipsy Pei Xiaoyun, indicating he had something to discuss with her.
That evening, Jiang Dian played the violin for Cheng Feng, who danced gracefully, momentarily forgetting her recent troubles. Their shared emotions led to a passionate night together. Pang Ting advised An Yin to give a public interview, making direct accusations against Cheng Feng to definitively ruin her career. The next morning, Rich arrived with a termination agreement for Cheng Feng’s HA endorsement. Cheng Feng was shocked to learn that An Yin had indeed given an interview, publicly blaming her for her disability. Rich, trusting Cheng Feng’s character as a genuine dancer, managed to waive the penalty, requiring only the return of the initial remuneration. As Cheng Feng prepared to sign, Jiang Dian intervened, revealing he had found the IP address of the source of the rumors and asked for more time, believing he could expose the truth and turn the situation around.
Rich, however, warned that the widespread negative public opinion was too deeply entrenched; people would only believe what they wanted to believe, and the company needed to distance itself from the scandal quickly. Despite Jiang Dian's efforts, Cheng Feng signed the agreement. Determined to find answers, Cheng Feng and Jiang Dian went to the internet cafe associated with the IP address.
They confronted the online posters, who, pressured by Jiang Dian's threat of legal action and Cheng Feng’s reminder of their past violent crimes—including nearly beating her boyfriend to death and causing his imprisonment—revealed that An Yin was the true instigator. They also provided Cheng Feng with a voice recording that exposed An Yin manipulating them. Shocked by An Yin’s betrayal, Cheng Feng and Jiang Dian went to the Welfare House to confront her.
An Yin feigned innocence, acting surprised by Cheng Feng’s visit and congratulating her on her promotion to deputy director. Cheng Feng, however, sarcastically congratulated An Yin on her rapid ascent and confronted her about her duplicity. An Yin tried to justify her interview by claiming it was arranged by the director to benefit the Welfare House and that she intended to clarify things for Cheng Feng. Cheng Feng cut her off, playing the damning recording.
Furious that a child had exposed her, An Yin dropped her facade. She expressed deep resentment, blaming Cheng Feng for her unfulfilled dreams, always being compared to her, missing the competition, and suffering her permanent leg injury, declaring that Cheng Feng had ruined her life. Cheng Feng scoffed at An Yin's self-pity and formally severed all ties, stating they would no longer have any relationship. Enraged, An Yin immediately made a phone call, seeking outside help.
Back at the book cafe, Cheng Feng was visibly distressed. Jiang Dian had to leave for school to discuss selling his patent with "Old Chen." Cheng Feng, wanting to spare him worry, downplayed her feelings, assuring him she was fine and had the recording as a backup. Dai Baoling, hearing about An Yin's twisted behavior, expressed her shock.
Cheng Feng admitted she felt partially responsible for An Yin's initial accident due to her sudden departure from the competition, which is why she had helped An Yin for years, never expecting such deep-seated resentment to be directed at her. Dai Baoling worried about An Yin having further plans.
Cheng Feng intended to use the recording as a countermeasure if An Yin continued her schemes, but she wanted to wait, as Jiang Dian was due to travel abroad for the Master Salon, a crucial event for his career, and she didn't want to distract him. Meanwhile, at the lab, "Old Chen" informed Jiang Dian that his patent was valued at 300,000 yuan.
