Tiger and Crane Episode 35 Recap
> Tiger and Crane Recap
The truth about the Legendary Sea's expansion began to unfold as it was revealed that Qi Wuji was the true culprit, and the long-held belief that Peak Valley was the birthplace of evil was a deception.
White Tiger admitted that while the exact details of what happened to Qi Wuji in the Mountain God Cave were unknown, he did erase the memories of the people and auspicious animals overnight, perpetuating the false narrative that Qi Wuji was a hero who slayed the Demon Emperor 500 years ago.
Zhao Xintong observed that the Bloody Waterfall was formed by Legendary flames flowing from a spring on the shadowy cliff of Twin Mountain, suggesting that destroying the spring could cut off the source of the Legendary Sea. However, White Tiger explained that this spring, originally the source of the Four Seas, was once protected by the Mountain God using a Phurba.
After the Mountain God's death, the spring transformed into the Legendary Sea, and the Phurba, essential for severing its source, was now in Qi Wuji's possession, making his demonic power even stronger. As the Legendary flames intensified, threatening to engulf the mainland, White Tiger's mother used her remaining essence to temporarily suppress the flames.
She revealed that she had transformed into human form solely to see Hu Zi one last time, expressing her joy at seeing him grown before she peacefully passed away. A grief-stricken Hu Zi was urged by his dying mother to remember his divine lineage as the son of a god, urging him to awaken his latent divine power and fulfill the mission of saving the world. He vowed to clear her name.
Qi Wuji then broke free from his constraints, revealing his demonic form to everyone. He demanded that they kneel before their ancestor and openly admitted his intention to take Qi Xiaoxuan's heart, lamenting that Qi Xiaoxuan only possessed one primordial spirit, making him a less potent "medicinal ingredient." Hu Zi and his companions confronted Qi Wuji, explicitly exposing him as the true Demon Emperor and the actual ancestor of the Qi family.
They revealed that 500 years ago, Peak Valley was not a birthplace of evil but a sacred abode of gods, which Qi Wuji desecrated by killing the Mountain God and contaminating the source of the Four Seas, leading to the Legendary Sea's overflow. He had orchestrated the conflict between humans and auspicious animals through sorcery, and the hero legend of the demon-slaying ancestor was a fabrication designed by Qi Wuji himself. Qi Wuji acknowledged their revelations, stating they were irrelevant.
He confirmed that he had no heart and was cursed, unable to leave Peak Valley without suffering petrification. This was why he devised elaborate traps to lure people there, his true objective being to obtain the heart containing the Qi family's two primordial spirits to escape his confinement. He boasted that with the Phurba, he could summon countless demonic beasts, ensuring their demise and allowing his "hero legend" to persist on the mainland.
He defiantly rejected the idea of Heaven's punishment for his missing heart, declaring that he would reclaim it and restore everything to how it once was. As the battle commenced, Hu Zi and Qi Xiaoxuan directly confronted Qi Wuji, while the other sorcerers engaged the demonic beasts. Hu Zi and Qi Xiaoxuan were quickly overwhelmed and trapped. From behind, Wang Yuqian launched an attack on Qi Wuji, but Qi Wuji, claiming to be an immortal god, was impervious to blades.
Wang Yuqian was struck down, spitting blood, as Qi Wuji mocked his naivety. As Qi Wuji moved to attack Qi Xiaoxuan, Zhao Xintong arrived, freeing Hu Zi and Qi Xiaoxuan. Mortally wounded, Wang Yuqian died in Hu Zi's arms. Before his last breath, the golden lotus planted within him by the Qiling God emerged, providing a protective aura to the sorcerers and aiding them in defeating the demonic beasts, fulfilling his mission to save the world.
Zhao Xintong then managed to obtain the Phurba and threw it to Hu Zi, but in doing so, she was fatally stabbed by Qi Wuji with her own spear. Dying in Hu Zi's embrace, she urged him to take everyone back safely, asking him to plant a seed from her, which she desired to become a tree near the hibiscus tree where he had promised to open a tavern. Hu Zi, heartbroken, watched her pass away.
Qi Xiaoxuan, still reeling from the events, felt a profound internal shift as his primordial spirit activated, making him feel alive again. In a spiritual vision, he met the Mountain God, who revealed the origin of the Qi family's two primordial spirits curse. It was placed by the Mountain God 500 years ago after being slain by the Qi family ancestor.
The curse dictated that whenever twins were born in the Qi family, one would be stillborn, and the two primordial spirits within the survivor would perpetually fight until one emerged victorious, sending the other into endless darkness. The Mountain God explained that Qi Xiaoxuan's elder brother, Yan, had willingly sacrificed himself, ending the internal conflict of the two primordial spirits within Qi Xiaoxuan. This act ended the curse entirely, which was in fact a test that contained infinite divine power.
Now that Qi Xiaoxuan had passed this test, his divine power was fully awakened, manifesting as wings on his back. With his newfound divine powers, Qi Xiaoxuan confronted Qi Wuji, declaring that the curse was indeed caused by Qi Wuji but would end with him. He stated that the 500 years of sin were finally coming to an end.
Qi Wuji, however, refused to accept his defeat, desperately proclaiming that he could not die, and denying the concept of sin or justice. Joined by Hu Zi, who wielded the Phurba and had also awakened his divine powers as the son of a god, they prepared for the final strike against Qi Wuji.
Combining their powers, resembling the White Tiger and Twin Cranes, Hu Zi plunged the Phurba into Qi Wuji's chest, while Qi Xiaoxuan also struck him, finally vanquishing the long-standing antagonist. Despite Qi Wuji's demise, his immense resentment enveloped the entire Peak Valley, preventing the resolution of the Legendary Sea crisis. Recognizing that the lingering malevolence needed to be addressed, Hu Zi and Qi Xiaoxuan decided to enter Qi Wuji's body to understand the source of his resentment.
They found themselves transported to the Qi Mansion from 500 years ago, witnessing the difficult birth of Qi Wuji and his twin brother, Qi Wushuang. Their mother endured a prolonged labor, and after Qi Wuji was born healthy, she delivered Qi Wushuang, who was born with severe disabilities and a "bad omen" mark on his face. The midwife, horrified, declared him a jinx, and their mother died shortly after his birth.
Blamed for his mother's death, Qi Wushuang was immediately deemed a "jinx" and taken away, confined and mistreated, with only his elder brother, Qi Wuji, showing him compassion and secretly bringing him food and comforting him. Qi Wuji promised to find a doctor for Qi Wushuang's legs and take him to see the world. Hu Zi and Qi Xiaoxuan were astonished by Qi Wushuang's tragic childhood, realizing the profound suffering that must have fueled Qi Wuji's transformation into a demon.
