Xintong and Hu Zi's allies quickly joined him, attempting to calm the agitated sorcerers. They argued that White Tiger, despite being a demon, was Hu Zi's mother. The Ancestor, seemingly filled with intense hatred for White Tiger, appeared. He used his essence power to forcefully hurl Hu Zi and Xintong aside, then trapped White Tiger within an iron cage. Although the Chief was present, he could only bide his time, waiting for an opportune moment to act.

The Ancestor vehemently declared that White Tiger had caused the deaths of numerous sorcerers and intended to execute her to honor the deceased. However, Xintong bravely pointed out that these were merely his unsubstantiated claims, a crucial detail that greatly enraged the Ancestor. Undeterred by reason, the sorcerers, blinded by their desire for glory, continued to clamor for White Tiger's death, leaving Hu Zi and his allies in a precarious position.

The Ancestor seized the Phurba from Hu Zi's grasp and, before everyone's eyes, set White Tiger ablaze. Hu Zi watched in utter despair, unable to comprehend his mother's agonizing death before him. Qi Xiaoxuan pleaded with the Ancestor to spare Hu Zi, but the Ancestor vehemently rebuked him, asking how a descendant of the Qi Sect could align himself with the son of a tiger demon.

Qi Xiaoxuan, however, firmly asserted that Hu Zi was his friend, declaring that he cared nothing for being expelled from the Qi Sect. In a defiant act, he deliberately destroyed the spiritual essence that the Ancestor had previously instilled in him to protect his primordial spirit. After the tragic event, Xintong and Mo Guzi discovered Hu Zi had disappeared.

Together with Qi Xiaoxuan, who had returned, they embarked on a search and eventually found Hu Zi unconscious and dehydrated from prolonged exposure to the sun on the sand. They quickly provided him with water, carried him to a nearby cave, and stayed by his side, offering comfort and support. Qi Xiaoxuan spoke to Hu Zi, urging him not to give up, no matter what difficulties he faced, and to never abandon his friends.

Later, due to the inherent connection between twin primordial spirits, Qi Xiaoxuan experienced recurring dreams of a particular cave and vivid images of Yan. Awakening from these visions, he followed the guidance of his primordial spirit, located Yan, but inadvertently walked into a trap set by Yi Mei. The following morning, as the friends were lighting a fire outside the cave to cook, Hu Zi, hearing their conversations, finally began to open up.

However, they soon realized that Qi Xiaoxuan was missing. His Soul Lamp was exceedingly dim, and coupled with the fact that his essence had been withdrawn after his heated argument with the Ancestor, everyone grew deeply concerned for his well-being. Jiang Xici voiced her disapproval of the Ancestor's decision to burn White Tiger in front of Hu Zi, though she did not overtly challenge his authority.

The Second Master arrived, reporting a sudden surge of demonic aura originating from the peak of Twin Mountain. Before departing to investigate with a small contingent, the Ancestor instructed the remaining forces to concentrate their efforts on locating the Demon Emperor's heart in a specific direction he indicated. Meanwhile, Qi Xiaoxuan regained consciousness, finding himself bound by iron chains. He desperately urged Yan to leave with him, insisting their current location was perilous.

Yet, Yan, still consumed by resentment over the blow Qi Xiaoxuan (whom he referred to as Qian) had struck him years ago, was deeply prejudiced and refused to heed his warnings. Outside, the four friends began their search for Qi Xiaoxuan, fanning out in four directions, each carrying a Thousand Thread Break. Their plan was that if any of the threads resonated, it would indicate Qi Xiaoxuan's proximity.

Upon reaching the vicinity of the Bloody Waterfall, the Ancestor intentionally left Jiang Xici and her group there, tasking them with suppressing the demonic aura. He then proceeded alone behind the waterfall to search for the Demon Emperor's heart. Elsewhere, another group, including Xiu Damen, struggled through a blinding sandstorm, making their progress incredibly difficult. Among the group, two distinct viewpoints emerged: some supported the Ancestor's merciless actions against White Tiger, while others found his methods excessively cruel.

After a considerable amount of time, the Ancestor's prolonged absence sparked suspicion in Jiang Xici. She instructed the Second Master and Xiu Damen to maintain their position and went to investigate herself, only to discover that they had fallen into a meticulously planned trap. Inside the cave, as Yi Mei prepared to merge Qi Xiaoxuan's primordial spirits, Qi Xiaoxuan, having unexpectedly broken free from his chains, struck Yi Mei. Yan then cooperated with Qi Xiaoxuan to fight Yi Mei.

At that moment, the true Qi Wuji suddenly appeared. Yan, recognizing him, declared that this Qi Wuji was a demon. He further revealed that he and Yi Mei had encountered this Qi Wuji upon their arrival at Peak Valley, recognizing his abnormal identity even then.

The newly revealed Qi Wuji, trapped in Peak Valley for 500 years, demanded to know why it took him so long to return, reminding him that he had stolen the Phurba and left him confined in the valley for centuries, suffering immense despair. The imposter, the one Yan had called a demon, explained that the Phurba had lost its power after leaving the island.

He detailed how the Wolf Demon King, whom the original Qi Wuji inquired about, had died fighting sorcerers to split the Legendary Sea. He further explained that he had used White Tiger's demonic tail, found within a young man's body after her death, to temporarily reactivate the Phurba and complete the task. However, the Phurba had once again lost all its power and had been discarded into the Legendary Sea.

The imposter Qi Wuji then declared his plan to retrieve the fully empowered Phurba, stating that with the Red Pearl Formation destroyed and the Legendary Sea now a pressing threat to the mainland, those on the continent would inevitably return, and for Qi Xiaoxuan's sake, they would bring the reactivated Phurba with them. The original Qi Wuji then confirmed Qi Xiaoxuan's identity as a descendant of the Qi family.

He recounted that he had killed the Demon Emperor but had subsequently been cursed, losing his heart and senses, and suffering immense pain from his heartless existence. He stated that he could now be reborn with Qi Xiaoxuan's help. However, upon examining Qi Xiaoxuan, he realized only one primordial spirit was present. He then demanded the heart of the "Twin Primordial Spirits" and asked where the other one was. Yi Mei offered to help him acquire it under a specific condition, mentioning "Ye Kongming."
