After landing in Beijing, Xu Tian was quietly followed by Wen Xiaoyao for a while before he noticed her. He tried to message Shi Diandian to let her know he arrived safely but found he was blocked and couldn't reach her by phone. Wen Xiaoyao told him that Shi Diandian had informed her two hours prior about the need to manage her schedule in Beijing, and that he could still catch a flight back to Hangzhou if he left immediately.
However, Xu Tian expressed his intention to spend three days experiencing Zhou Tong's life. Xu Tian asked Wen Xiaoyao about things Zhou Tong liked to do. Wen Xiaoyao shared details about some of their past interactions, including planning to go to Dajue Temple to pray. She recounted conversations where she questioned if their relationship was moving too quickly and called him a "blockhead." Xu Tian then went alone to Guangmingge, a venue that seemed to be for crosstalk performances.
Qiao Guanghui happened to be there to make a payment and, seeing a man who looked exactly like Zhou Tong, sat at the same table. Although the staff mistook Xu Tian for Zhou Tong, Qiao Guanghui recognized he was not. Qiao Guanghui inquired about Xu Tian's identity and learned he had met Zhou Tong, but questioned why he felt the need to come to Beijing since they weren't close.
Xu Tian admitted he understood the logic but felt uncomfortable and needed to make the trip, finding a kindred spirit in Qiao Guanghui, who confessed he also felt awkward about the situation. Meanwhile, Song Guanwang had prepared a large meal and was having dinner with Wen Xiaoyao.
Wen Xiaoyao was still very upset, recounting her difficult journey learning ballet, the sacrifices she made, finally finding hope for building a life and a family with Zhou Tong in Beijing, only for him to leave first. Song Guanwang tried to comfort her, acknowledging her own grief as Zhou Tong's mother, but emphasizing that life must continue.
She urged Wen Xiaoyao not to give up on her career, particularly her role as Bai Suzhen, which was a promise to her mother, and not to let down those who had supported her like Zhao Gang. Wen Xiaoyao became emotional, saying she couldn't dance at the moment, but when pressed by Song Guanwang, she affirmed she could handle the pressure.
She later confided that the relationship was "over," clarifying it wasn't a breakup but rather one-sided love as they were never officially together. She said she would fly to Malaysia the next day and could now rest easy knowing she had achieved her goal with the ballet role, despite Zhou Tong ignoring her. After Wen Xiaoyao helped clean up, Song Guanwang suggested she look at Zhou Tong's room, but Wen Xiaoyao declined.
Before leaving, Wen Xiaoyao mentioned Xu Tian had come to Beijing. After their meeting at Guangmingge, Qiao Guanghui insisted on driving Xu Tian. Seeing Xu Tian's low spirits, Qiao Guanghui commented on his own situation, feeling like his efforts benefited someone else. He then suggested they go sing at a KTV, mentioning that Zhou Tong often frequented such places, which piqued Xu Tian's interest. At the venue, Qiao Guanghui coached Xu Tian on singing, and Xu Tian soon relaxed.
During their session, a drunk man stumbled into their room by mistake. Qiao Guanghui, frustrated by his own troubles, became aggressive towards the man, and staff quickly intervened to separate them. Xu Tian stayed at Qiao Guanghui's place overnight. The next morning, Xu Tian confided that he hadn't slept all night and had been looking at Zhou Tong's medical report, noting issues with blood pressure and cholesterol. Qiao Guanghui suggested monitoring his diet and eating oatmeal cookies daily.
At Xiaomi's building, a male singer played and sang downstairs. Xiaomi went down to meet him, and he expressed their clear mutual feelings, wanting to come up to her apartment. Xiaomi, not wanting to cause a stir, found excuses not to let him in. Wen Xiaoyao, observing from upstairs, seemed to understand their relationship but pretended not to have seen anything when Xiaomi returned. The next morning, Wen Xiaoyao prepared breakfast.
Xiaomi told her they needed to go to the ballet troupe after eating. She stressed Wen Xiaoyao's importance as a backbone for Zhao Gang and insisted she see the new show and give input regarding the leadership changes at the troupe. Wen Xiaoyao accompanied Xiaomi to the troupe meeting. While Xiaomi changed, Wen Xiaoyao brought up seeing her with the singer that morning, advising her not to let the opportunity pass.
Xiaomi responded that Wen Xiaoyao should screen him for her and not let him get away easily. Wen Xiaoyao emphasized that love is fleeting and should be cherished. Xiaomi later returned home and was stunned to see Xu Tian there. Qiao Guanghui mentioned he planned to take Xu Tian to see his mother, Song Guanwang. However, Xiaomi stated she had a crucial meeting at the troupe concerning Zhao Gang's future and needed Qiao Guanghui to accompany her.
Qiao Guanghui agreed, packing clothes and asking Xu Tian to wait for him at the house. Qiao Guanghui then attended a meeting with Mr. Yang and Zhao Gang. Mr. Yang had made his decision, stating that Zhao Gang would retain his title but would actually assist Yang Yun. Qiao Guanghui supported this arrangement. Mr. Yang then announced that 'Legend of the White Snake' would be kept in the repertoire, and they would begin rehearsing a new production called 'Jin Se'.
A significant event occurred when Yang Yun suffered a back injury, reportedly caused by Yin Ye. This injury made her unable to perform in the upcoming shows. As the understudy, Wen Xiaoyao stepped into the lead role of Bai Suzhen for the premiere the next day. The troupe faced pressure to make quick adjustments and inform the media due to the sudden change. Still unable to reach Shi Diandian, Xu Tian called Qiao Guanghui.
Qiao Guanghui said he was busy but put Wen Xiaoyao on the phone. Wen Xiaoyao explained the situation: Yang Yun had injured her back, and the good news was that Wen Xiaoyao would be playing Bai Suzhen in the premiere the next day. Qiao Guanghui invited Wen Xiaoyao and Xiaomi for dinner, and Wen Xiaoyao accepted before leaving to check on Yang Yun. Wen Xiaoyao was subsequently interviewed about taking on the lead role.
She confirmed she lived in Beijing and stated that although she had never been to Hangzhou, her mother, Jia Sulan, was from Hangzhou and had played Bai Suzhen in Yue Opera. During this time, Shi Diandian arrived. Shi Diandian was introduced to the waiting reporters, and she in turn introduced Wen Xiaoyao to them, mentioning she would be playing Bai Suzhen in the premiere tomorrow.
Xu Tian later went to the hotel where he was supposed to stay and was directed to the lobby to check in. There, he met Shi Diandian's mother, Mr. Fang, who was waiting for him. Mr. Fang offered him tea.
Despite her earlier statement about the relationship being over and planning to fly to Malaysia, Wen Xiaoyao later confided to Xiaomi that she wouldn't break up with Zhou Tong after all and needed to talk to him after the three premiere performances. She stated she loved Zhou Tong and planned to find him first before visiting Yang Yun in the hospital.
