Gu Yan was determined to depose the Crown Prince, even at the cost of his own life, to avenge his wife and children. Ge Hongying exposed that the Crown Prince used laborers for repairing water channels to impersonate the Blood Floating Corps, just to do justice to Prince Zhao. Emperor Tiansheng imprisoned the Crown Prince and ordered Feng Zhiwei to assist Chancellor Yao in investigating the matter. After everyone left, Emperor Tiansheng specifically called out to Xin Ziyan.

As a father, he didn't understand why Ning Chuan, already the Crown Prince, would still do such a thing. Xin Ziyan replied that he could not feel at ease with a stolen position of Crown Prince. Emperor Tiansheng looked doubtful. Xin Ziyan then revealed the truth of that night eighteen years ago. Emperor Tiansheng was filled with remorse, but even more so with anger.

Xin Ziyan once again brought the Minhai Chang family into the conversation, stating that if another heir apparent were to be established, they must be wary of the danger posed by imperial relatives. Emperor Tiansheng was enraged, displeased that Xin Ziyan was presumptuously discussing the choice of heir apparent. Feng Zhiwei left the palace carrying a pile of imperial edicts, accidentally dropping a few scrolls on the way. Someone stepped on them, preventing Feng Zhiwei from retrieving them.

Feng Zhiwei looked up and saw that it was Ning Yi. The imperial edict was the decree to punish the Crown Prince, but Ning Yi was not satisfied, because the death of Old Third Huo had not yet been accounted for. Feng Zhiwei only replied that she had reported truthfully, unaware that Ning Yi was worried about her, because even Emperor Tiansheng had to give way to the Minhai Chang family.

And Feng Zhiwei was very likely to die from the Chang clan's hidden attacks. Ning Yi entered the main hall. Emperor Tiansheng asked him if his wishes had been fulfilled. Ning Yi only said that he only hoped Ning Qiao and Prince Zhao were still alive, with brotherly friendship and respect. Emperor Tiansheng didn't believe him. Ning Yi had meticulously plotted for eight years; was it really just for Ning Qiao?

Ning Yi gently stepped forward and enumerated Ning Qiao's importance to him, stating that in the days without a father and mother, Ning Qiao was his only family. Emperor Tiansheng knew that he was blaming himself. That's right, Ning Yi blamed his father. When his imperial consort mother died of illness that year, his father remained indifferent; he hated him for it. Emperor Tiansheng was shocked. " Are you still going to investigate your imperial consort mother's death?

I forbid it!" But Ning Yi was very humble at this moment. He only hoped his father would allow him to perform his last act of filial piety. Emperor Tiansheng saw Noble Consort Chang kneeling before her elder sister's memorial tablet, regretting not having taken good care of her son, the Crown Prince. He did not get angry. Emperor Tiansheng merely said that he felt ashamed before Duke Min for not managing the Crown Prince and Chang Hai properly.

Noble Consort Chang then took out a letter from Duke Min, stating that Duke Min hoped Emperor Tiansheng would administer justice impartially. Emperor Tiansheng's heart was filled with mixed feelings. He ignored Noble Consort Chang's attempt at closeness and left her residence. Noble Consort Chang ordered someone to give the letter to her son, Prince Yan, and then she coldly looked at her elder sister's memorial tablet and smiled.

Zhao Yuan held a whip and repeatedly struck his own back, leaving it covered in blood. In the imperial court, Chancellor Yao proposed to clear Ning Qiao's name regarding his death.
