Ying Gu came at midnight to seek revenge on Duan Zhixing. Guo Jing appeared and tried to persuade Ying Gu to spare Duan Zhixing. Seeing that Ying Gu wouldn't listen, Guo Jing had no choice but to intervene and stop Ying Gu from killing him. Unexpectedly, Duan Zhixing used the One Yang Finger to trap Guo Jing. For all these years, he had been waiting for Ying Gu to come, fearing she wouldn't arrive to settle this karma.

Duan Zhixing let Ying Gu take his life herself, but Ying Gu thought of all the good things Duan Zhixing had done for her over the years and still couldn't bring herself to kill him. Qiu Qianren followed them. Ying Gu unexpectedly discovered that Qiu Qianren's laughter was identical to the laughter of the person who had killed her son back then, only then realizing that it was Qiu Qianren who had killed her son.

Guo Jing and Huang Rong appeared to stop Qiu Qianren from killing Ying Gu. Qiu Qianren further entertained the idea of killing Huang Rong to disturb Huang Yaoshi's mind, so that he would have one less opponent in the Battle of Mount Hua. Huang Rong knew that it would be difficult to injure Qiu Qianren, so she could only team up with Guo Jing to trick Qiu Qianren and make him wary.

Duan Zhixing's appearance made Qiu Qianren believe that his power was still present, so Qiu Qianren could only leave temporarily. Ying Gu had already given up seeking revenge on Duan Zhixing, only asking him to pray for her deceased child day and night. Ying Gu was surprised to learn from Huang Rong that Zhou Botong had left the island and persuaded Ying Gu to stay alive and seek out Zhou Botong, and together with him, kill Qiu Qianren.

The last few chapters of the Nine Yin Manual were in Sanskrit.
