Guo Jing and Huang Rong successfully rescued Ouyang Ke using the power of the tide. Ouyang Feng took Ouyang Ke to the cave, immediately occupying the spot where Hong Qigong was recuperating. He showed no gratitude for Guo Jing and Huang Rong's help and even threatened them to help find food. Ouyang Ke had broken a leg.

Being inherently proud, he couldn't stand this blow, but Ouyang Feng was unwilling to let his nephew give up on himself and promised to definitely cure Ouyang Ke upon returning to the Western Regions. Ouyang Feng asked Ouyang Ke why he was crushed under the giant rock. Ouyang Ke, worried that Ouyang Feng would kill Huang Rong, said that he was accidentally crushed by the giant rock.

Ouyang Feng was too clever for his own good; Huang Rong had long guessed Ouyang Feng's wariness, so she secretly tampered with the raft. Seeing Ouyang Feng leave with Ouyang Ke, Guo Jing and Huang Rong also took Hong Qigong and left the island by boat.

Guo Jing and Huang Rong's boat encountered wind and waves at sea, but fortunately, they encountered a large ship and called for help, not knowing that this large ship belonged to Wanyan Honglie. Guo Jing saw Yang Kang and Wanyan Honglie together and was disappointed that Yang Kang had defected to the Jin people. Afterwards, the group also saw Ouyang Feng and his nephew on the ship.

Wanyan Honglie originally intended to recruit Hong Qigong, but Hong Qigong was unwilling to be associated with the Jin people. Wanyan Honglie was about to throw Hong Qigong and the others into the sea when Ouyang Feng stepped forward and temporarily saved them. Wanyan Honglie learned that Yang Kang had actually become sworn brothers with Guo Jing and suspected Yang Kang's intentions in defecting to him.

Yang Kang stated that Guo Jing possessed the Nine Yin Manual, and his sworn brotherhood was merely for the sake of the Nine Yin Manual. However, Wanyan Honglie believed that Guo Jing now possessed extraordinary internal energy and was unsure if Yang Kang's plan would succeed. Guo Jing's martial arts achievements and experiences made Yang Kang jealous, and he couldn't understand why Guo Jing was superior to him in every aspect.

Mu Nianci advised Yang Kang that Guo Jing was now his sworn brother, and it would be better for them if Guo Jing was well. She urged Yang Kang to rescue Guo Jing, but Yang Kang said now was not a good time.
