Wu's father was determined to kill Zhao Zhengnan, as he knew that he would bring endless trouble upon his return. Yan Cheng had prepared all the necessary instruments needed for the surgery, and after a simple disinfection, Jin Yurong nervously began to operate on Zhao Zhengnan. This was the first time Jin Yurong had performed such a large-scale operation, and she was feeling uneasy. Zhao Zhengnan could only bite down on a towel to resist the pain, as there was no anesthesia available at the time. Jin Yurong successfully removed the bullet, and Zhao Zhengnan held her hand, asking her not to leave. He fell asleep shortly afterwards.

Zhao Zhengnan had been having nightmares but felt at ease when he opened his eyes and saw Jin Yurong. He hoped that she could stay by his side forever. Soon, he and Jin Yurong arrived at a nearby hospital, where he received proper medical treatment. Jin Yurong helped him with the transfusion, as they both had type O blood. She took care of him with great devotion and prayed for a speedy recovery. As she slept by his side, Zhao Zhengnan woke up in the morning, calling her name.

Yan Cheng came in at that moment, and Zhao Zhengnan learned that Jin Yurong had given him a blood transfusion. He promised to never let her leave his side again. After Jin Yurong left, Yan Cheng told Zhao Zhengnan about her intelligence and how she had tricked the Wu family to keep them from knowing what had happened. However, they did not know that Zhao Zhengnan and Jin Yurong had already left. Shortly thereafter, the Zhao family surrounded the Wu family's house, trying to force Wu's father to come out. Fortunately, Zhao's father appeared just in time, stating that he was there to settle the score with Wu's father. He showed him who was boss and left with his men.

In order to allow Jin Yurong to take good care of herself, Zhao Zhengnan did not tell her that he had recovered a lot. Jin Yurong also said that she would not easily leave Zhao Zhengnan's sight in the future. Zhao Zhengnan confessed his feelings to Jin Yurong, which made her feel a little embarrassed. Wu's father couldn't sit still anymore, as he felt that the Zhao family was playing a game with him.

Soon, Bu Rigude also saw the news about Jin Yurong and Zhao Zhengnan being together. Wu Baoyi deliberately tried to sow discord in front of Bu Rigude, who did not believe that Jin Yurong would leave him. Unexpectedly, Zhao Zhengnan appeared and saved the girl just in time. Jin Yurong realized that Zhao Zhengnan had recovered almost completely, but his wound had reopened. She hurried back to help change his bandages.

Jin Yurong heard Zhao Zhengnan talk about his ideals and recalled the scene when he saved her when they were young. She felt a little embarrassed and quickly found an excuse to leave.

Bu Rigude's addiction to smoking returned, and he wanted to go to the smoking pipe. However, the person in charge kicked him out after learning that he had no money. Soon, Wu's father learned about what had happened in Yan Cheng, and he immediately ordered General Wang to spare Zhao Zhengnan's life.
