The Hope Episode 30 (Ending) Recap
> The Hope Recap
During winter break, the five members of Class 11 gathered at the Tsingpei Home to discuss their lives ten years into the future. Cheng Yushan envisioned herself as a wealthy, independent career woman who was still single, enjoying activities like hiking and camping when bored. Bian Xiaoxiao hoped to be slimmer and wealthier. Yu Yang desired a peaceful life where he could still feel needed by others.
Jiang Qinglang dreamed of exploring the edges of the universe, and he was also jokingly asked to get alien autographs for everyone. To everyone's surprise, Li Ran's dream was to be a good father to three children. Reflecting on the past, they all agreed that ten years prior, none of them would have imagined working so hard for college. Twelve years later, Lei Ming had moved his "headquarters" to a remote village and established Minglong Shared Education.
The initiative used remote holographic projection to provide online classes to over 320 remote primary and secondary schools across 23 provinces. Despite his age, Lei Ming remained youthful in spirit, continuing to teach with passion. The former students of Class 11, who had promised to gather annually, hadn't done so for three years since Lei Ming relocated.
Bian Xiaoxiao and Jiang Qinglang had divorced but remained friends, Li Ran and Cheng Yushan had grown apart, and Yu Yang had become a successful historical web novelist. Li Ran's company was providing strong technical support for Lei Ming’s education program, having arrived a week earlier than the others. Sang Xia, who had been studying in France, returned specifically to bring Lei Ming a birthday cake, leading to another reunion for Class 11.
Following the college entrance exam, Lei Ming fulfilled his promise to the students by performing a dance on the school rooftop for the entire school. During the graduation photo, Li Ran and Cheng Yushan, wearing matching outfits, held hands openly. This gesture reflected a promise Li Ran had made to Cheng Yushan during the physics exam: if they both answered the last single-choice question correctly, they would officially become a couple.
After checking their answers, they realized they both got it right. On the day the exam results were released, Lei Ming and Sang Xia were anxiously waiting together. Sang Xia suggested they play a game of truth to pass the time. She asked for Lei Ming's first impression of her, and he admitted he thought she was "definitely hard to handle."
When it was her turn, Sang Xia recalled her first time seeing Lei Ming in his house and thinking he was "pretty handsome." Lei Ming was then asked about his most unforgettable moment with Class 11 that year, to which he recalled the New Year's party with the artificial Milky Way, feeling it was "all worth it" to see the students so happy. Sang Xia's most unforgettable moment was seeing the "little sapling" grow, realizing she "didn't misjudge" him.
Finally, Lei Ming asked Sang Xia if she would be willing to be with him in the future, regardless of which class he taught, and she readily agreed. The tension mounted as the exam results were released. At the hospital, Li Ran and Cheng Yushan, by his grandmother's bedside, nervously checked their scores together. Li Ran scored 677 points, while Cheng Yushan achieved an impressive 705 points, bringing immense joy and celebration to the hospital ward and Li Ran's grandmother.
In her village, Bian Xiaoxiao scored 613 points, earning her the highest score in the community and her family's proud celebration. Meanwhile, Yu Yang accompanied his father on a truck route, experiencing his father's hard work firsthand. Struggling to find a signal in the mountains, they climbed onto the truck's roof to check, where Yu Yang discovered he scored 632 points, moving him and his father to tears of joy. Everyone had achieved results they could be proud of.
A month later, "Qianqian Skewers" opened its doors, a place where Class 11 would later agree to gather annually on Lei Ming's birthday. While walking by the river, Li Ran encountered Shen Yao, who revealed his score of 713, securing him a spot in Tsingbei University's School of Architecture based on his raw score. Li Ran, knowing about Shen Yao's parents' divorce, congratulated him sincerely.
However, Li Ran shared that he would not be attending Tsingbei, opting instead for Aerospace University in the same city, drawn by his preferred major and the opportunity to be in the same city as someone he liked. Afterward, Li Ran, Yu Yang, Jiang Qinglang, and Shen Yao, filled with youthful exuberance, spontaneously stripped off their shirts and swam across the Qingjiang River, celebrating their graduation and their continued hot-blooded youth.
Cheng Yushan was admitted to Tsingbei University for Mathematics with 705 points, Li Ran to Aerospace University for Aircraft Design and Engineering with 677 points, Bian Xiaoxiao to Tsingbei University for Broadcasting and Hosting with 613 points, Yu Yang to Guangbei Normal University for History with 632 points, and Jiang Qinglang, who took the exam the following year, was admitted to Huanan Conservatory of Music for Composition and Compositional Theory.
Twelve years later, at the Minglong Shared Education headquarters, Lei Ming's former colleagues and students reunited. Jiang Qinglang and Bian Xiaoxiao, though divorced, maintained a friendly relationship. Yu Yang had become a successful historical web novelist. Li Ran's company was a key technical supporter for Lei Ming's educational platform. When a birthday cake from Sang Xia, who was still in France, arrived, Lei Ming feigned indifference, but his lingering affection for her was evident. To his surprise, Sang Xia had actually returned from France and personally delivered the cake, and they were all reunited once again.
