In the desolate wilderness, it was hard to discern directions. Only a lone inn stood with barely any trace of people. Xiao Se saw the mark left by his master Bai Xiaosheng on the table and realized that he had arrived in Beili. Years ago, Xiao Se had pleaded for Lord Langya Xiao Ruofeng but was instead expelled from Tianqi by the emperor Xiao Ruojin. On his journey, he was ambushed by the Wrathful Sword Immortal Yan Zhantian.

When he woke up, he found his hidden meridians completely destroyed. Though his internal strength remained, he could no longer use it and was left only with his qinggong. Over the years, Xiao Se had been investigating the one who had secretly harmed him and gravely injured his master. Yet his master Ji Ruofeng, despite knowing the culprit's identity, refused to tell the truth, instead urging him to let it go. That night, Xiao Se met with Ji Ruofeng.

The two had conflicting views, and Ji Ruofeng handed over the Wujigun to Xiao Se, hoping he could regain his strength and return to being the former Prince of Yong'an, Xiao Chuhe. Xiao Se confessed to his master that he had gotten lost, only to discover they had accidentally entered Muliang City—an illustrious city renowned in the martial world.

Muliang City's fame rivaled that of Northern Tianqi, Southern Xueyue, and Eastern Wushuang, all thanks to the strongest among the Five Great Sword Immortals—Luo Qingyang. The world knew him as the one who wielded the Nine Songs Sword and meditated in seclusion in Muliang City to cultivate his swordsmanship. With just one man and one sword, he traversed the world freely. In the past, whenever Lei Wujie talked about martial arts masters, Xiao Se always responded indifferently.

But at the mention of Luo Qingyang's name, his expression became complicated and grave. Wu Xin noticed Xiao Se’s unusual demeanor and stopped Lei Wujie from continuing. Lei Wujie wanted to go see Muliang City for himself, but Xiao Se strongly opposed, so he had no choice but to go alone. A carriage raced through the dense forest, heading straight for Jiulong Gate. Leading the ride was the monk Wuchan, with Sikong Qianluo sitting beside him.

Inside the carriage, Fairy Rui teased Tang Lian with all sorts of seductive gestures, eventually toppling him over. Just as the two drew closer and closer, Sikong Qianluo suddenly spoke, disrupting the atmosphere. Tang Lian instantly stood up, overwhelmed with embarrassment. Since Xiao Chuhe had been demoted to a commoner, the position of crown prince remained unconfirmed. Lord Chi Xiao Yu and Lord Bai Xiao Chong had each been growing their power in the martial world.

Backing Xiao Chong was Sword Immortal Yan Zhantian, while Xiao Yu had the Lone Sword Immortal Luo Qingyang. Xiao Yu arranged a meeting with Prince Ao Yu of the South Jue Kingdom. Ao Yu sent his trusted guard Fu Hengxing in his place—who happened to encounter Lei Wujie. Wu Xin heard the sound of explosions outside and judged by direction that Lei Wujie was in danger. Xiao Se turned a deaf ear, clearly showing no intention to intervene.

Wu Xin thus concluded that Xiao Se feared Luo Qingyang. Ever since he was a child, Wu Xin had heard of a martial prodigy who broke into the Free Realm at the age of thirteen and entered the Carefree Heaven Realm at seventeen. That person was Bai Xiaosheng's disciple, the sixth prince of Beili—Xiao Chuhe.

But as soon as he finished speaking, Xiao Se retorted sharply, exposing Wu Xin's connection to Ye Dingzhi and pointing out that Ye Dingzhi had poor judgment in friends, eventually ending up betrayed by Wang Rensun. Sure enough, Wu Xin was enraged and struck Xiao Se with a punch. After calming down, he decided to go rescue Lei Wujie. Thus, Xiao Se followed the sounds and found Lei Wujie, recognizing Fu Hengxing.

Since Xiao Se’s martial arts were now useless, he was no match for Fu Hengxing. At the critical moment, Wu Xin appeared and drove them off. After this incident, the relationship between Wu Xin and Xiao Se grew closer. Xiao Se also realized that although Wu Xin appeared kind and was born into the Buddhist sect, he was actually quite cunning.

Grand Chamberlain Jin Xian specially reported to the emperor that the White-Haired Deity had appeared in the Central Plains and then began to trace Wu Xin’s whereabouts, leading disciples to arrive in the Kingdom of Yu. The disciples were curious how their master knew Wu Xin would come here. Jin Xian thought of Wang Rensun and became certain. Meanwhile, Wu Xin entered the city, surveying his surroundings.

His eyes settled on a man who looked like a monk but had no tonsure marks. The man was clutching a wine jar, dead drunk. Noticing a golden glow in the distance, Wu Xin instantly used qinggong to dash toward it. Inside the Great Brahma Temple, three monks stood before the main hall. The leading monk, Venerable Falan, remained silent throughout. No matter what questions Jin Xian asked, he simply shook his head.

Beside Falan were two martial monks—one twirling prayer beads, the other wielding a precept knife—both glaring angrily, ready to strike at any moment. Before they could make a move, Wang Rensun descended from the sky, snatching the precept knife and preparing to launch a killing spree. The disciples were no match for him. Jin Xian stepped out from the palanquin, clearly familiar with Wang Rensun.

Xiao Se and the others were hiding not far away, and their discussion drew Jin Xian’s attention. Wu Xin had no choice but to reveal himself, politely refusing Jin Xian's invitation and engaging in a duel. Jin Xian's real name was Shen Jingzhou. In his childhood, he experienced a family tragedy and witnessed his father’s brutal death.

Known for his mastery of the Wind and Snow Sword, he challenged the martial world and became one of the five great eunuchs in the Beili imperial palace, holding immense power. Wu Xin used the Great Soul Search Hand against Jin Xian. A white shadow flashed before him, and Jin Xian, under the influence of inner demons, saw his father’s death scene again. He hurriedly shut his eyes to avoid falling into the illusion.

In an instant, Wu Xin pressed his palms together, and a massive bronze bell illusion appeared around him. Jin Xian halted his sword and asked whether he was willing to return to the palace with him. Once Wu Xin gave a firm no, Jin Xian’s gaze gradually cleared, the illusions vanished, and a frost-like sword strike slashed straight toward Wushuang.
