Jingjing insisted on joining him, despite Gu Rong's warning that such occasions were often dull. Inside, Gu Rong greeted Mr. Zhao and was about to introduce Jingjing when Bai Anrou interrupted. During the dinner, Bai Anrou deliberately introduced Jingjing to Mr. Zhao as Gu Rong's highly trusted bodyguard.
Mr. Zhao then playfully remarked on Gu Rong's "good taste" in choosing such a refined girl as a bodyguard, adding that he might also get one for aesthetic pleasure. Bai Anrou then asked Jingjing to pour water for everyone. Gu Rong intervened, telling Mr. Zhao that it was inappropriate to ask his girlfriend to pour water. Outside, he informed Jingjing that their cooperation with Wansheng was terminated and instructed Bai Anrou to handle the termination process. Jingjing worried that she was the reason for the business decision, but Gu Rong reassured her, saying that cooperating with such a person was unnecessary and that he was upset for not protecting her better. They embraced, reaffirming their trust in each other. That evening, Gu Rong's grandfather inquired about the termination of the Wansheng cooperation.
Gu Rong simply explained it was a timely measure to cut losses, adding that he would bring a new business partner to meet him in a week. Gu Rong acknowledged that she was a good business partner as long as she didn't interfere with his personal life. However, despite their efforts, they waited for a long time but could not meet William. Meanwhile, Gu Rong had Xie Te deliver some food to Jingjing. Understanding that Gu Rong was on a trip to find a new business partner, Jingjing decided to call Gu Rong's grandfather and invited him out for snail rice noodles.
