After the Inspector Of Yangzhou arrested Li Xiaoyao and Lin Yueru, he insisted that the two were the thieves who had stolen all the treasures from the treasure pavilion, and Liu Jinyuan, who impersonated a young master, was an accomplice. As long as they revealed Liu Jinyuan's whereabouts, they would be treated leniently. The two refused to admit it, so the Inspector Of Yangzhou simply arranged for a round of flogging as a deterrent.

Li Xiaoyao immediately shielded Lin Yueru, taking the blows for her. A Nu quietly returned to the inn but found Zhao Ling'er waiting for her in the room. Zhao Ling'er thought A Nu had gone to the Inspector Of Yangzhou's mansion to look for the Wind Spirit Bead. A Nu quickly explained that she had secretly gone near the treasure pavilion and found that Li Xiaoyao and Lin Yueru had been arrested and thrown into prison as bandits.

Zhao Ling'er became even more anxious and wanted to break into the prison that night. A Nu couldn't stop her, so she gave her Tang Yu's confusion worm. Li Xiaoyao took a beating with boards, and his back was severely lacerated. Lin Yueru felt sorry and took out the homemade medicinal powder she carried from the Lin family to apply to Li Xiaoyao. As she thought about how Li Xiaoyao had protected her, her affection for him grew stronger.

Zhao Ling'er used the confusion worm to learn that Li Xiaoyao was injured. While Liu Jinyuan was eating at the inn, he heard some nearby merchants discussing how the authorities had caught a pair of male and female bandits. He walked up and took out some silver to inquire how much money it would take for him to get into prison to meet the male and female bandits.

The other person said that the Inspector Of Yangzhou's favorite collection was the calligraphy and paintings of Bai Ding Shan Ren, and if he could present this item, many things could be resolved. Zhao Ling'er and A Nu returned to the inn and happened to meet Liu Jinyuan. The group discussed ways to rescue Li Xiaoyao and Lin Yueru. Liu Jinyuan believed that only by finding the stolen treasures could the two be cleared of suspicion.

So A Nu began using the Sacred Spirit Bead to sense the hiding place of the treasures. The Chang Shi discovered the inn where Liu Jinyuan was staying and directly broke into the room to arrest him. He saw Liu Jinyuan calmly painting, and the handwriting was the authentic work of Bai Ding Shan Ren. The Chang Shi quickly ordered his officers to leave and spoke privately with Liu Jinyuan.

When Liu Jinyuan mentioned wanting to 'facilitate' things, the Chang Shi hesitated, as he was just following orders and didn't have real power. Liu Jinyuan further explained that when he first arrived in Yangzhou, he had received kindness from the two suspects and wanted to take this opportunity to repay them. The so-called facilitation was merely asking the Chang Shi to help introduce him to the Inspector Of Yangzhou.

As the seal of Bai Ding Shan Ren was stamped, the Chang Shi readily agreed. After Liu Jinyuan met the Inspector Of Yangzhou with the Chang Shi, the Inspector Of Yangzhou insisted that since Liu Jinyuan had been seen entering and leaving with the two suspects, he must be an accomplice. No matter how much Liu Jinyuan explained, it was useless. He had no choice but to pretend to inadvertently reveal his Zhuangyuan certificate.

The Inspector Of Yangzhou discovered it was a certificate issued by the imperial court, and most importantly, that Liu Jinyuan's father held a high position, only then was he willing to listen to Liu Jinyuan's explanation. Liu Jinyuan used his status as a Zhuangyuan to vouch for the two, but since the Inspector Of Yangzhou had caught them at the scene of the theft, it was impossible to release them easily.

Liu Jinyuan then threatened to report the matter to the imperial court and have the case thoroughly investigated. The Inspector Of Yangzhou finally compromised and released Li Xiaoyao first. Because the female bandit was widely rumored in Yangzhou, Lin Yueru would likely not be able to get out for the time being. If the missing treasures could not be found within three days, both of them would be charged.

As A Nu stood on the city gate tower sensing the aura of the beads, she discovered the street vendor selling fake tickets, Xiao Huang. The group stopped him and inquired if he knew the whereabouts of the stolen treasures. Xiao Huang dared not lie anymore and pointed them towards a clear path.

At the Earth God Temple by the east gate of the city, there was a Jin Baye, who knew everything that happened in Yangzhou city and could be consulted. Li Xiaoyao and Liu Jinyuan went to the inn to look for Ji Sanniang. They saw a woman in black jump out the window and escape. Li Xiaoyao chased after her and fought with her. After returning to the inn, Liu Jinyuan smelled a fragrance, which should have been the scent of the female bandit.
