Sweet Combat Episode 7 Recap
> Sweet Combat Recap
Sun Hao, filled with gossip, pressed Ming Tian about his relationship with Fang Yu. After learning Ming Tian did not like Fang Yu, Sun Hao boldly declared his intention to pursue her himself. Later, Sun Hao's mother, Mother Hao, spoke to him, remarking that Fang Yu and Ming Tian had "love in their eyes," suggesting Sun Hao's pursuit of Fang Yu was futile.
Sun Hao, however, adamantly insisted that Fang Yu would never like someone like Ming Tian and that he and Fang Yu were the perfect match. Meanwhile, Fang Yu found herself smiling unconsciously as she recalled Ming Tian helping her with her hair. When her brother, Fang Zhou, heard that Fang Yu and Ming Tian had gone to a food stall together, he was surprised and immediately probed about their relationship.
Fang Yu feigned anger to scare Fang Zhou away before letting a small smile appear. Yet, she soon felt a pang of sadness, remembering how Ming Tian quickly distanced himself from her, leading her to believe he saw her only as a spoiled rich girl. Ming Tian gave his old taekwondo uniform to Ming Lang, who was thrilled that his elder brother agreed to let him join the taekwondo club.
Ming Tian even agreed to let Ming Zhu learn taekwondo as well. After tucking his siblings into bed, Ming Tian went to the courtyard, touching his bicycle and feeling a stirring of unusual emotions. The next day, Ming Tian was anxious about his upcoming Zhengze League preliminary match. He recalled the brutal nature of the preliminary rounds, where competitors are randomly paired and have just three minutes to defeat their opponent, with many being carried out by ambulance.
His friends, Song Xiaomi and Cheng Yanan, tried to reassure him. Cheng Yanan suggested a "surefire plan": Ming Tian should move quickly to avoid being hit, causing his opponent to lose composure and get eliminated, reminding him that stepping out of the circle meant automatic elimination. Ming Tian, however, pondered whether such a dodging strategy would betray his original goal of confronting challenges bravely.
At the taekwondo club, Ming Lang was praised by his coach for his talent and declared his ambition to attend Zhengze Academy like his elder brother. A classmate, An Xiaodong, mocked Ming Lang, claiming Zhengze would never accept him and boasting about his own powerful coach. Ming Lang asserted that he had Sister Xiaomi, Sister Yanan, and "Sister Queen" (Fang Yu) to teach him.
An Xiaodong and other children scoffed, disbelieving he knew "the Queen" and cruelly mentioning that Ming Lang and Ming Zhu's parents were dead, implying their earlier lie about them being overseas. Incensed, Ming Lang got into a fight with An Xiaodong and ran off. The coach intervened, and Ming Lang explained he hit An Xiaodong for calling him a liar about knowing the Queen. When even the coach seemed skeptical, Ming Lang fled.
Later, Ming Tian, Sun Hao, Song Xiaomi, and Cheng Yanan were eating in the cafeteria. To their surprise, Fang Yu, who usually disliked the cafeteria, joined them. She explained that the director had instructed her to participate in Ming Tian's training plan. Fang Yu offered Ming Tian dietary advice for his training, but Song Xiaomi quickly interjected, stating she had already prepared recipes and would cook for him.
When Sun Hao revealed that Ming Tian and Fang Yu had eaten together at his family's food stall the previous night, Song Xiaomi was taken aback. Ming Tian claimed it was a coincidence, but Sun Hao elaborated that Fang Yu had taken Ming Tian out to thank him. Song Xiaomi grew visibly jealous. Suddenly, Ming Tian received a phone call. After a brief conversation where he promised to go "immediately," he apologized and abruptly left, explaining that "something came up."
He later called the taekwondo club, desperately asking if Ming Lang had returned, and considered calling the police if he couldn't find him, growing increasingly anxious. Driven by her worry that Ming Tian and Fang Yu were growing closer, Song Xiaomi confronted Sun Hao. She questioned why he hadn't inquired further about Fang Yu treating Ming Tian to dinner, calling herself careless for letting them get together.
Confirming Sun Hao's affection for Fang Yu, Song Xiaomi proposed an alliance: she would aggressively pursue Ming Tian, ensuring Fang Yu would then be available for Sun Hao. Sun Hao hesitated, mentioning he had already asked Ming Tian to help him pursue Fang Yu. Song Xiaomi chided him, telling a story about a laborer whose girlfriend ran off with the mailman who delivered his love letters, implying Sun Hao was making the same mistake.
Sun Hao finally understood and eagerly agreed to form the "Meow Meow Jiumi Love Alliance" with Song Xiaomi. Meanwhile, Ming Lang had sought out Fang Yu at Zhengze Academy, calling her "Big Sister Fang Yu" and "Sister Queen." He explained that his classmates didn't believe he knew her and pleaded with her to come to his school to prove he wasn't lying. Fang Yu accompanied him to the taekwondo club.
The coach apologized for Ming Lang's earlier behavior, and Ming Lang himself apologized for running away. Fang Yu then spoke to An Xiaodong, asking him how he would feel if his parents didn't believe he knew the "Queen." An Xiaodong immediately understood and apologized to Ming Lang, who readily forgave him. To further prove her identity, Fang Yu wrote "Queen" on An Xiaodong's hand.
Seeing how much she liked the children, Fang Yu offered to come to the club once a month to play with and teach them, an offer the coach gratefully accepted. Soon after, Ming Tian arrived, relieved to see Ming Lang safe. Though his worry dissipated, Ming Tian sternly reprimanded Ming Lang for fighting and leaving class, reminding him that despite their parents' absence, he should strive harder instead of resorting to violence.
Seeing his younger brother apologize with tears in his eyes, Ming Tian lovingly embraced both Ming Lang and Ming Zhu, assuring them that despite having no parents, they still had him. At the Zhiying Boxing Club, He Xiaofeng tried to invite Luo Guanyan to watch a movie, but he politely refused, stating he had something to do. Luo Guanyan then went to Cheng Yanan's martial arts gym and spoke with her father.
Cheng's father inquired if Luo Guanyan had considered his terms for teaching the "Death Strike," which included having an "unconventional aesthetic taste" and being "passionate and loyal," as well as a third condition: "If there's you, there's her. If there's her, then there's you." Luo Guanyan stated that if learning the technique required accepting Cheng Yanan for that purpose, he would refuse.
He then confessed to Cheng's father that he already had feelings for Cheng Yanan, explaining that he was impressed and drawn to her after seeing her diligently practicing late one night. Cheng's father was pleased with Luo Guanyan's sincerity. When Cheng Yanan returned, she announced she was going for a run. Luo Guanyan followed, as her father declared it part of a "special training plan" for both of them to reach the peak.
As they ran up the mountain, He Xiaofeng secretly watched them from a distance, wishing for rain to hinder their closeness. During their run, Luo Guanyan playfully tricked Cheng Yanan into believing he had been bitten by a poisonous snake, feigning distress and asking for paper to write a farewell message to his parents. Cheng Yanan, genuinely distraught, frantically tried to help him, promising not to let him die.
Luo Guanyan eventually revealed it was a joke and the snake was not venomous, prompting a furious Cheng Yanan to hit him. As they rested at the summit, Cheng Yanan discovered that her father had agreed to teach Luo Guanyan the "Death Strike," a technique he had refused to teach her, infuriating her. She demanded to know how he convinced her father, but Luo Guanyan only suggested they head back down.
Later, Ming Tian and Fang Yu walked Ming Zhu and Ming Lang home. The children were very fond of Fang Yu and tried to impress her. They came across a roadside hot dog contest where participants could win hot dogs by winning a game. Ming Zhu and Ming Lang were enthusiastic but too young to participate. Seeing their disappointment, Ming Tian asked Fang Yu to join him in the contest. They successfully won the hot dogs for the children.
Afterwards, both Ming Tian and Fang Yu were sweaty from the effort, and they shared an intimate moment, wiping sweat from each other's faces. Observing this, Ming Zhu innocently exclaimed that "Sister Queen is almost Big Brother's girlfriend!" Ming Lang, somewhat put out, quickly declared to Fang Yu that he would grow up fast, become stronger and more handsome than his brother, and marry her. Ming Tian, embarrassed by his younger brother's bluntness, quickly covered Ming Lang's mouth.
Later, Ming Tian was working at Sun Hao's family food stall. Song Xiaomi and Sun Hao arrived, with Song Xiaomi boasting about her plan to pursue Ming Tian while accusing Sun Hao of exploiting Ming Tian by getting "two for the price of one." Cheng Yanan arrived, telling them to stop bullying Ming Tian, as he was honest and they were overworking him. Mother Hao then left to buy noodles, entrusting the shop to them.
Suddenly, Ma Yichen appeared at the food stall, claiming he was there to eat and support Ming Tian. He immediately became difficult, complaining about the cleanliness of the table and ordering almost everything on the menu, clearly intending to cause trouble and make Ming Tian pay for the embarrassment he suffered at Zhengze. Song Xiaomi confronted him, but Ming Tian intervened, insisting he would handle it himself to avoid involving Mother Hao.
Just as tensions escalated, Fang Yu arrived, addressing Ma Yichen as "President" and ordering him to apologize and leave. Ming Tian, however, stated he didn't need an apology, only for Ma Yichen to stop bothering him. Ma Yichen then threw money onto the table, telling them to "keep the change," and left. Fang Yu apologized to Ming Tian for her club member's behavior, promising to educate him.
