When he did, Ming Tian tried to comfort her, claiming everything was fine, but Fang Yu brought up his father. Ming Tian confirmed that his father, Ming Hai, had killed someone in Macau using his "Death Strike" technique.
Upon hearing this, Fang Yu stumbled and then ran away in a frenzy. During her most vulnerable moments, she found solace in Ji Gang, to whom she could confide all her suppressed emotions. However, Ji Gang, who had always cared for her deeply, was killed by Ming Tian's father. Distraught, Fang Yu collided with some street thugs who robbed her, but the timely arrival of a police car allowed her to escape.
Fang Zhou expressed his strong disapproval of his grandfather's actions, unable to comprehend why his grandfather would inflict further pain on Fang Yu. Ming Tian was deeply concerned for Fang Yu, but she responded coldly to his care, simply stating she was fine and asking for them to have some space. The mysterious individual who had previously challenged Luo Guanyan sought out Ma Yichen. Before Ma Yichen could even react, the assailant severely injured him, breaking several ribs.
Luo Guanyan and He Xiaofeng visited Ma Yichen, surprised by the mysterious person's fighting prowess, considering Ma Yichen's own strength was not insignificant. Ming Tian confided in Cheng Yanan about the complicated history between himself and Fang Yu, hoping she might speak with Fang Yu. However, Fang Yu found it impossible to move on, believing that after this revelation, she could not openly be with Ming Tian. Song Xiaomi remained preoccupied by Ah Can's death. His mother eventually left them, and shortly after, Ming Hai died in a car accident due to his drinking.
Ming Tian described this as a dark period he wished to forget, and it was why he refused to enter the ring until meeting Fang Yu changed everything. He expressed his hope that he could now give Fang Yu the courage she needed for them to overcome their challenges together. In the Zhengze League Match finals, the pairings were announced: Cheng Yanan vs. He Xiaofeng, Song Xiaomi vs. Wu Ji, and Fang Yu vs. Li Tong.
Ming Tian offered Cheng Yanan strategic advice for her match against He Xiaofeng, emphasizing controlling her opponent's range and targeting her lower body due to her upper body defense.
