Chen Yidu informs Li Weiwei that their relationship must end. He explains that their opposing loyalties to Ling Long and D. U. Wedding Gowns, both their responsibilities and their "original sin," create an insurmountable conflict. He believes that every future professional confrontation would leave scars on their hearts, eventually turning their love into resentment. Chen Yidu states it is better to end things now, while they still have cherished memories, rather than waiting for their hearts to become numb.
Li Weiwei, in tears, pleads with him not to give up so easily and to work harder on their relationship, but Chen Yidu remains resolute and departs. Distraught, Li Weiwei returns home and confines herself to her room. Her brother, Leo, expressing concern, threatens to confront Chen Yidu. However, he soon discovers Li Weiwei furiously punching and kicking a teddy bear, imagining it to be Chen Yidu, and realizes she is dealing with her emotions.
Leo asks her about her plans. Li Weiwei immediately declares her intention to win Chen Yidu back but admits she has no strategy. Leo advises her to use tears as a powerful tactic, claiming men are defenseless against a woman's crying. Li Weiwei attempts this strategy by dressing like a "ghost" and ambushing Chen Yidu in the D. U. parking lot, hoping to evoke his pity. Instead of winning him back, she only manages to scare a D. U.
security guard unconscious. When Chen Yidu returns home, he discovers a new neighbor moving in – Li Weiwei, who is now determined to pursue him relentlessly. At Ling Long, an online poll titled "Ling Long's Best Couple" is started, with Li Weiwei and Huo Xiao predictably leading the votes. Su Fei and Jenny comment on their enduring bond through thick and thin without ever arguing.
Li Weiwei, angered by the poll, orders them to return to work and instructs the engineering department to remove the post. Li Weiwei, struggling to find design inspiration, discusses with Huo Xiao how she feels undeserving of the international tango competition design rights, which Ling Long secured due to his Second Uncle's interference. Huo Xiao simply smiles, understanding her feelings. Li Weiwei, still determined to mend things with Chen Yidu, devises a new plan.
She contacts Leo and instructs him to gather information about Chen Yidu's preferences from Tiffany. Leo, pretending to be romantically interested in Tiffany, invites her to dinner and subtly questions her about Chen Yidu's favorite activities and foods. Tiffany, eager to display her knowledge, shares many details until she realizes she has been tricked and leaves. Leo compiles the information into a "future brother-in-law" profile for Li Weiwei, earning her praise.
Despite this, Li Weiwei firmly rejects Leo's request to move in with her, stating she doesn't want any distractions from her pursuit of Chen Yidu. Armed with Leo's intel, Li Weiwei bakes a mango-filled cake and delivers it to Chen Yidu's home, insisting he taste it. Chen Yidu reluctantly complies, only to break out in an itchy rash, revealing a severe allergy to mangoes. Li Weiwei quickly realizes that Leo's "intelligence" was disastrously incorrect and flees Chen Yidu's apartment.
Later, Huo Xiao, having paid Leo a substantial sum for Li Weiwei's new address, visits her with her favorite pig trotter soup. Taking her hand, he playfully suggests that if they were to marry, he would cook her any soup she desired daily. Li Weiwei, however, feigns ignorance and deflects, suggesting that as close friends, such elaborate efforts for soup are unnecessary.
Still feeling uneasy about how Ling Long obtained the tango competition design rights, Li Weiwei takes a joint design agreement to D. U. She stages a sit-in at the company lobby, forcing Chen Yidu to meet her. She proposes that Ling Long and D. U. collaborate on the competition costumes and specifically requests Chen Yidu to be her co-designer. Chen Yidu agrees, stating that he will always consider opportunities beneficial to his company, but advises her to give up if she has other intentions.
