Ding Yi found Mai Sichong awake and in a bad mood, observing that he was upset about his poor performance in the swimming competition and his loss to Xia Rui, attributing it to Mei Weiwei's absence. Mai Sichong retorted that it was "none of her business." He was engrossed in his phone, thinking Mei Weiwei was enjoying Peng Pai's birthday party since she had neither come to his match nor replied to his messages.

Meanwhile, Mei Weiwei, deliberating on her phone, decided to apologize to Mai Sichong in person the next day rather than sending a message. The next day, Mai Sichong remained angry. When Mei Weiwei approached him with an apology gift of sports supplies, he coldly refused it. When she asked if he was unwell, he replied, "It's none of your business."

Mei Weiwei then threatened not to help him with electrotherapy next time, to which Mai Sichong retorted, "Then, don't help me anymore," and walked away. Dejected, Mei Weiwei looked up at the brightly lit swimming pool before quietly departing. Inside the pool, Mai Sichong swam furiously, recalling Mei Weiwei's smiles towards Peng Pai and Peng Pai's pursuit of her. These memories agitated him, causing him to cough intensely.

Later, outside his dormitory, he stared at Mei Weiwei's number on his phone, battling the urge to call, but ultimately, his lingering resentment won, and he walked away. Later, as Mei Weiwei and Baihui were putting up new club activity posters, they were introduced to Jiayi, the new president of the Students' Association Union. Jiayi remarked that Mei Weiwei's "boyfriend" was very good for exposing the former president, which had helped their club.

Mei Weiwei quickly clarified that he was not her boyfriend, but Jiayi insisted that Mai Sichong had done a lot for her. This information, contradicting previous mentions that implied Peng Pai was responsible for exposing the former president (Fan Zengxiang), finally made Mei Weiwei connect Mai Sichong's past "strange" actions and understand the truth behind his efforts. Realizing she needed to speak with Mai Sichong immediately, Mei Weiwei quickly excused herself and rushed off to find him.

Elsewhere, Jun Jun was walking with a friend who asked about the elusive "Kurosaki Ichigo" and why Jun Jun hadn't given Mai Sichong the invitation yet. Before Jun Jun could answer, Xia Rui approached and introduced himself. Jun Jun's friend mistook Xia Rui for "Kurosaki-kun" and complimented his appearance, then quickly left, giving Jun Jun and Xia Rui a chance to talk privately.

They went to a convenience store, where Jun Jun apologized for an incident where she inadvertently pointed at him, clarifying that she didn't like him romantically. Xia Rui, having already guessed this, smiled understandingly, sharing that he used to be just as introverted and struggled to communicate with others, feeling like he was seeing his past self in her. He expressed a desire to be "simple friends" with her, thereby clearing the air and strengthening their bond.

Back at the swimming pool, Mei Weiwei debated how to give her gift to Mai Sichong. Upon entering, she was shocked to find him collapsed by the side of the pool. After a moment of panic, she called his name and quickly performed artificial respiration, bringing him back to consciousness.

Seeing Mei Weiwei's anxious face, Mai Sichong had a sudden flashback: he remembered collapsing after saving a child from a speeding car in high school, and the girl who performed CPR on him then was none other than Mei Weiwei. This realization dawned on him just before he fainted again, telling Mei Weiwei that he was sick and everything was illusory. Mei Weiwei tried to wake him up and called for help.

Mai Sichong awoke again in the hospital, seeing a tired Mei Weiwei resting nearby. Mei Weiwei playfully teased him about being childish, even when sick. When Mei Weiwei stirred and prepared to leave, he urgently grabbed her hand and asked if she had saved a person in her final year of high school. Before he could explain further, Ding Yi and Xia Rui entered, bringing fruit and interrupting their conversation.

Shortly after, Mei Weiwei received a call from Peng Pai, who invited her to have a meal with him to discuss thesis data. Feeling obligated due to her previous absence from his birthday, Mei Weiwei agreed and left Mai Sichong, promising to bring him takeout later. Mai Sichong watched her leave, unable to express his frustration. Ding Yi then asked Xia Rui if Mei Weiwei and Peng Pai were involved, to which Mai Sichong angrily told him to shut up.

Mei Weiwei met Peng Pai at the canteen. Peng Pai first asked Mei Weiwei about telling someone about his birthday party plans. Mei Weiwei apologized for missing his party, and when he asked why she sent him a book about sports economy instead of attending, he implied he wanted her presence. Mei Weiwei expressed her happiness that they had resolved their misunderstanding and were now friends.

Peng Pai then directly asked if she had missed his birthday to watch Sichong's match, to which she hesitantly confirmed. He then asked if she liked Sichong, causing Mei Weiwei to become visibly flustered, muttering "We two. . ." before excusing herself to pick up takeout, leaving the unspoken answer hanging in the air. Peng Pai, sensing her true feelings, acknowledged the reality that her heart was not with him.

Meanwhile, Mai Sichong's coach Peipei and the school principal were discussing his recent unexpectedly poor performance. The principal noted that Mai Sichong's high school grades were exceptional, even comparable to a provincial team member, and questioned why he hadn't participated in last year's selection. With no electronic records to explain his absence, they concluded they would need to examine his original physical files. Mei Weiwei returned to Mai Sichong's hospital room, finding Xia Rui and Ding Yi packing.

The two friends, acting as Mai Sichong's wingmen, dramatically exaggerated his condition, claiming he was "seriously ill" and had inexplicably insisted on returning to his dormitory. They cleverly encouraged Mei Weiwei to visit him there and helped her sneak into the male dorm. Mai Sichong, feigning illness, watched Mei Weiwei hesitate at the doorway. Ding Yi and Xia Rui then claimed to have urgent training with Coach Peipei and "conveniently" left, giving Mai Sichong and Mei Weiwei privacy.

Mai Sichong, still in a bad mood, grudgingly asked about her conversation with Peng Pai. Mei Weiwei clarified that she hadn't attended Peng Pai's birthday party at all; instead, she had intended to go to Mai Sichong's match but ended up missing both. Hearing this, Mai Sichong's sour mood vanished instantly, replaced by a wide grin.

When Mei Weiwei suggested their electrotherapy wasn't working and they should try something else, he confidently stated that his improved speed wasn't due to electrotherapy, but rather, he "can definitely win" as long as she came to every one of his matches, almost confessing his feelings before quickly excusing himself to buy water. Left alone in the room, Mei Weiwei accidentally knocked over Mai Sichong's backpack, and a crucial file slid out, catching her attention.

As Mai Sichong opened the dorm door to return, he found Mei Weiwei holding his important secret. In a moment of panic, he rushed forward and embraced her from behind, their hearts pounding in an unexpected backhug.

Meanwhile, Ding Yi and Xia Rui, waiting outside, discussed Mai Sichong's unusually good high school grades that declined in college, only to improve significantly whenever Mei Weiwei was present, leading them to ponder if it was "the power of love" and if Mai Sichong truly liked Mei Weiwei.
