Qian Xixi and Duan Ran arrived at the company to find it completely empty. Searching the offices, they couldn't locate any staff, nor could they reach anyone by phone. Meanwhile, Chen Lang, who had gathered all the staff on a beach for a supposed "team building" event, called Duan Shengyun, threatening to halt the Pineapple Xpress live broadcast if Duan Shengyun did not transfer 80% of Rui's e-commerce shares back to him.
Chen Lang accused Duan Shengyun of promising to nurture his company only to hand it over to his son, Duan Ran, once he returned from abroad. Duan Shengyun staunchly refused, asserting that Rui was QE Group's asset. He admonished Chen Lang for acting shamelessly and attempting to exploit QE's vulnerable position. Chen Lang, however, retorted that he learned such tactics from Duan Shengyun himself.
Qian Xixi managed to get through to Chen Lang, criticizing him for disrupting the crucial live broadcast. Chen Lang claimed he understood Duan Ran's true intentions for visiting the company, viewing Duan Ran sitting in his chair as an act of provocation and an attempt to seize his company just because he was Duan Shengyun's son, despite Chen Lang's deep emotional and professional investment.
Qian Xixi proposed recruiting new broadcasters from Duan Ran's network to handle the stream, but Yu Shi, the company's treasurer whom Chen Lang had left behind, informed them that Chen Lang had also taken all the products. Yu Shi, who Chen Lang always disdained as Duan Shengyun's assigned treasurer, explained that Chen Lang had confiscated everyone's phones under the guise of "commercial confidentiality" during a company activity.
Duan Ran and Qian Xixi found Chen Lang's social media post showing professional diving instructors, which led them to deduce that the staff were in Sanya. Yu Shi then helped them retrieve booking records by calling a booking company, confirming a flight to Sanya Phoenix International Airport. Qian Xixi and Duan Ran immediately booked tickets to Sanya, leaving Yu Shi to hold down the fort at the office.
En route, Qian Xixi described Chen Lang as a formidable and complex individual who had sacrificed everything, even selling his house, to start Rui. Yuan Yuan overheard Chen Lang's phone conversation and realized the broadcast was not canceled, prompting her to ask Chen Lang what was happening. Chen Lang confided in her, expressing his trust and assuring her that as long as he remained in the industry, she would always be his company's top broadcaster.
He urged her to keep their conversation a secret from the other staff. Separately, Duan Shengyun advised Duan Ran to collaborate closely with Qian Xixi, cautioning that Chen Lang was a meticulous and challenging opponent. Duan Ran vowed to find Chen Lang, while Qian Xixi worried that even if they found the broadcasters, Chen Lang might withhold the products. They decided Duan Ran would search for the staff, and Qian Xixi would acquire replacement clothing.
Su Su managed to retrieve her phone and called Qian Xixi, revealing Chen Lang's lie about Qian Xixi being sick and confirming their phones were seized. Su Su also informed Qian Xixi that Chen Lang was threatening Duan Shengyun by stopping the broadcast to reclaim the company shares.
Upon discovering Su Su's call, Chen Lang accused her of being "sick" and told her to go home, before ordering someone to hide all the original products and taking the other staff out to sea on a boat, leaving Su Su behind. Duan Ran headed to Xidao Dock to find Su Su, while Qian Xixi began a frantic shopping spree for new clothes, struggling to find all the items, especially the Nishiyama Yohji collaboration collection.
Realizing the inefficiency of buying with a lookbook, Su Su remembered the detailed product list was on her company computer. Qian Xixi immediately called Yu Shi, instructing him to retrieve the list from Su Su's desktop and send it to her. Armed with the list, Qian Xixi pre-ordered items. She even spotted a passerby wearing a sold-out yellow jacket, GM890, and impulsively traded her own designer bag for it.
Duan Ran successfully found Su Su on the beach using a photo Qian Xixi sent. Su Su then received a call from Yuan Yuan, who, having learned about Chen Lang's blackmail from Su Su, sent her location to help. Duan Ran promptly rented two large boats: one for himself and Su Su to pursue the others, and another for Qian Xixi.
He called Qian Xixi, informing her of the plan and urging her to prioritize getting the broadcast started, even if it meant proceeding without the unavailable Nishiyama Yohji collaboration items. Qian Xixi rushed to the dock with her newly acquired clothes but found no boat for her, and Duan Ran’s line was busy. Back at the office, Mr Wu from Pineapple Xpress arrived unexpectedly to observe the live broadcast, only to find the office deserted.
Yu Shi quickly covered, explaining it was a surprise "unprecedented outdoor live broadcast" customized for Pineapple Xpress, assuring Mr Wu that Qian Xixi was merely busy with preparations. Mr Wu, intrigued, expressed his excitement for the surprise. Yu Shi called Qian Xixi to inform her of Mr Wu's arrival. Feeling the mounting pressure, Qian Xixi called Chen Lang to renegotiate.
During the call, Chen Lang reiterated his demand to buy Rui back at its original price, allowing QE to retain 49% of the shares, but on the strict condition that Duan Ran never interfere with Rui Live. He warned of a contract breach if his terms were not met.
Duan Ran, confronting Chen Lang, accused him of blackmail and called him a "scoundrel" whose "small-mindedness" was the root of his company's failures, sarcastically claiming Duan Ran's visit to take Qian Xixi to dinner had merely exposed his true nature. As the broadcast deadline loomed, Chen Lang taunted Duan Ran about the lack of broadcasters and products.
Duan Ran then called Qian Xixi again, instructing her to get on the unexpectedly large boat he had secured for her at the dock and start the broadcast immediately. He explained that having an online broadcaster on time would prevent a breach of contract, and that she could manage the initial 25-35 minutes alone with the clothes she had. Qian Xixi, though hesitant, agreed, urging Duan Shengyun to handle Chen Lang.
Duan Shengyun then joined the call, directly addressing Chen Lang. He emphasized that client collaborations should never be affected by internal company disputes, which should be resolved internally, and clarified that Duan Ran had no intention of joining Rui and was not a threat to Chen Lang.
