> Something Just Like This Recap
Yuan Yuan reflected on her journey, stating that every bit of effort she had put in was rewarded. She expressed how much she cherished this opportunity, mentioning she had lost five pounds for it and even memorized Jiang Zheyang's information and Perfect Blue's product information in her sleep. While she felt she deserved the chance, she ultimately decided to withdraw, not wanting her colleagues' hard work to go to waste.
She also thanked Jiang Zheyang's mother for her recognition, acknowledging it was a pity she couldn't collaborate with Jiang Zheyang this time. Other team members expressed their regrets as well. Duan Ran, though feeling uncomfortable, pushed through to continue with the event. Jiang Zheyang's mother, finding the situation uninteresting, left. When Duan Ran tried to say more, Ouyang curtly told him he was looking for trouble. Suddenly, a message arrived: Jiang Zheyang had disappeared and wasn't answering his phone.
Ouyang immediately began directing the team to search for him, asking if they checked the washroom. Meanwhile, Zhang Jiayun found memorizing the scripts overwhelming, but some colleagues envied her, wishing they could interact with Jiang Zheyang. In the QE lobby, Yuan Yuan, feeling bored, heard a passerby playing the piano. The beautiful music drew her in, and she spontaneously joined the person, playing a harmonious duet.
Soon after, Jiang Zheyang also arrived and joined them, creating a trio at the piano that captivated a large crowd, many of whom recorded the moment on their phones. With the live stream about to begin, Qian Xixi and her team frantically searched for Jiang Zheyang throughout the mall. She finally found him as the piano performance concluded to applause. She quickly pulled him away.
Yuan Yuan's agent recognized Jiang Zheyang, but Yuan Yuan stopped him from calling out, pulling him along instead. Qian Xixi escorted Jiang Zheyang back to get ready, a sight that made Duan Ran jealous. He wondered why Qian Xixi could find Jiang Zheyang when no one else could, implying it was too convenient. Qian Xixi playfully suggested it was "destiny," further irritating Duan Ran, who then tugged on her ear.
At that moment, Yu Shi rushed in, announcing that Bai Siyu, who was supposed to be the mascot, had abandoned her post, leaving them without anyone to wear the white bear costume. Duan Ran quickly declared Qian Xixi would take her place. Qian Xixi protested, feeling the bear head was too big for her small frame. Duan Ran found her "quite cute" in it and put the mascot head on her, teasing her about being furry and huggable.
Qian Xixi asked Duan Ran not to tell anyone, especially Jiang Zheyang, that she was the mascot. She felt it would be embarrassing since Jiang Zheyang had just complimented her. Duan Ran agreed, saying she could act however she wanted with the head on. During the live stream, Qian Xixi, in the mascot costume, nearly stumbled on stage, but Jiang Zheyang quickly caught her.
On stage, Zhang Jiayun and Jiang Zheyang interacted, with Zhang Jiayun commenting on the mascot's energetic and fast dancing, which they struggled to keep up with. The live stream was a huge success, with fan engagement and follower counts soaring, especially for Rui's broadcasters. This angered Chen Lang, who watched Rui's live stream. His team suggested inviting Jiang Zheyang to their platform.
Chen Lang scoffed at Rui's "attention-grabbing gimmicks," insisting their company relied on "capability" and had Xiao Xiao, but his jealousy was evident. Towards the end of the show, Jiang Zheyang announced he wanted to thank a very special person: the White Bear mascot. He insisted on removing the mascot's head, revealing Qian Xixi, and praised her for taking on the most tiring and difficult work to make the event a success.
He then suggested taking a photo with her, much to Duan Ran's visible jealousy. Jiang Zheyang later admitted to Qian Xixi that he recognized her when she stumbled on stage and he helped her, realizing who was inside the costume. After the live stream, Ouyang approached Duan Ran, expressing satisfaction with the "explosive" results and the significant increase in fan numbers. She suggested future collaborations, which Duan Ran enthusiastically agreed to, promising to "create opportunities" if none arose.
Later, a report confirmed that QE Mall had its highest visitor traffic of the year, with all restaurant bookings filled. As Duan Ran left the mall, he encountered Lao Qian, Qian Xixi's father, playing piano in the lobby. The two agreed to have dinner together that evening. Worried about Yuan Yuan, Qian Xixi then encountered Bai Siyu, who rushed in with gifts for Jiang Zheyang, only to be heartbroken and cry when she learned he had already left.
Qian Xixi and others tried to console her. That evening, at a family dinner, Qian Xixi was stunned and upset to see her father, Lao Qian, present. Her mood immediately turned somber, and she left the table. Duan Ran's mother followed her, trying to explain that Lao Qian had returned to visit her. Qian Xixi angrily declared he wasn't her father, as he had neither raised nor cared for her; she only recognized Duan Ran's parents.
Duan Ran's mother urged her to give Lao Qian face, asking her to finish the dinner. Qian Xixi agreed, but only after making Duan Ran's mother promise she would never have to see him again after that night. During dinner, Lao Qian expressed his desire to make up for lost time and compensate Qian Xixi, hoping to take her abroad to continue her studies after dealing with some domestic matters.
Duan Ran's mother confronted him, questioning how he planned to fund her education when he hadn't prepared anything, calling his words irresponsible. She then left the table in anger, while Qian Xixi remained silent throughout the exchange. Lao Qian decided to return to his old house. Duan Ran insisted Qian Xixi accompany him to see her father off.
In the car, Lao Qian repeatedly called Qian Xixi's name, eager to talk and apologizing for his failures as a father, but Qian Xixi remained unresponsive. Upon arriving at the old house, Qian Xixi prevented Duan Ran from helping with Lao Qian's luggage, stating she would simply open the door and be back in two minutes, clearly indicating her unwillingness to spend any more time with her father.
