Go Into Your Heart Episode 7 Recap
> Go Into Your Heart Recap
Sheng Jingchu pressed the button a second before the AI, Bai Ze, forcing the artificial intelligence to concede. The crowd erupted in cheers, amazed that Sheng Jingchu could win against the AI even after the difficulty was increased. After stepping off the stage, his junior disciples from Jiuzhou Dojo praised him, calling him "the honor of Jiuzhou" and offering to handle any unwanted interviews for him.
Sheng Jingchu then received a call from Ke Jie, who invited him to play mahjong. During their mahjong game, Ke Jie advised Sheng Jingchu to broaden his horizons beyond Go, emphasizing that life should be more colorful and less monotonous. He shared that Master Xie's decision for Sheng Jingchu to move out of Jiuzhou Dojo was intended to help him explore new fields and enrich his Go playing.
Sheng Jingchu ultimately won the mahjong game, revealing to Ke Jie that many things are beyond expectation, and subtly challenged Ke Jie's ambition to reclaim the Tianyuan title, stating that he must first ask for Sheng Jingchu's permission after his graduation. Later, Xiao Lan expressed to Senior He her "ominous premonition," believing that Sheng Jingchu quickly finding Cheng Liao's fingerprint among so many others during the show was "destined."
She worried that if she continued to obstruct them, she would become an "evil antagonist" and face criticism. Sheng Jingchu explained to Cheng Liao that he found her fingerprint so quickly because of a small cut on her finger from when she made him Mrs. Song's fish soup in Suzhou. Cheng Liao was deeply impressed, marveling at how he could remember such a tiny detail.
Sheng Jingchu then confessed that Cheng Liao was his first true friend, as he had lived in Jiuzhou Dojo since age six, surrounded only by his master and fellow disciples. He explained that for him, the word "friend" carried immense weight, and Cheng Liao was truly precious to him. Cheng Liao was touched, affirming that Sheng Jingchu was also a very precious friend to her.
Xu Chi's first show, "The Universal Challenge," achieved record-breaking viewership, with its first day's online views surpassing one hundred million. The success led to an official deep cooperation with Binghai TV Station and attracted several sponsors. Xu Chi publicly praised Cheng Liao for her crucial role in persuading Sheng Jingchu to participate in the show.
As a reward, he and Director Liu promoted Cheng Liao to an official employee of Pinecone Video and gifted her an employee card and a personal gift. That evening, Xu Chi took Cheng Liao to dinner at a restaurant they frequented with Cheng Yi in the past. He confided in Cheng Liao that he had been in love with a girl for a long time but was afraid to confess, fearing rejection and losing their friendship.
Cheng Liao, misinterpreting his words as an indirect confession to her, encouraged him to be brave. She thought Xu Chi was "a silly boy" for being so hesitant. Upon returning home, Cheng Liao found her father crying over a TV drama where the two main characters, despite being deeply in love, kept missing each other because neither dared to confess.
Her father's lament about "missing out if you don't speak up" solidified Cheng Liao's resolve to confess her feelings to Xu Chi. Just as she was contemplating how to do so, Sheng Jingchu called her, asking for her help. They agreed to meet the next day. The next day, Sheng Jingchu sought Cheng Liao's advice on buying a gift for Yao Ke.
Cheng Liao suggested a tea set, remembering that Yao Ke often had a teacup by his side during competitions, and believed he would appreciate it. After purchasing the gift for Yao Ke, Cheng Liao then enlisted Sheng Jingchu's help to buy a tie for Xu Chi, explaining it was a "confession gift." She revealed her belief that she and Xu Chi had a mutual affection, but he was too shy to make the first move.
She decided to be the brave one and initiate the confession that night. Upon hearing Cheng Liao's plan to confess to Xu Chi, Sheng Jingchu became visibly upset. He offered unenthusiastic "it's okay" responses to all of Cheng Liao's tie selections. Cheng Liao, oblivious to his true feelings, grew frustrated. Sheng Jingchu, unable to bear it any longer, abruptly excused himself, citing an urgent matter, and left.
Back home, Sheng Jingchu grew increasingly distraught at the thought of Cheng Liao confessing to Xu Chi and becoming someone else's girlfriend that evening. Meanwhile, Cheng Liao, having bought the tie, was back home trying to choose an outfit for the appreciation party. Her sister, Cheng Yi, had also been invited by Xu Chi. Cheng Liao asked to borrow a formal dress from Cheng Yi, but her sister was initially unwilling, jokingly offering to rent her one.
Sheng Jingchu, still troubled, went to Mr. Cheng's small restaurant, hoping to find Cheng Liao. Mr. Cheng informed him that Cheng Liao had gone to Xu Chi's appreciation party with her sister. Sheng Jingchu was disheartened. As Cheng Liao and Cheng Yi arrived at the Xingyue Hotel's Langhua Hall, dressed elegantly, Xu Chi greeted them with compliments, particularly praising Cheng Liao, which made her happy.
At the same time, Sheng Jingchu, recalling Cheng Liao's declaration of her intent to confess to Xu Chi, made a quick calculation. Realizing that Xu Chi did not actually reciprocate Cheng Liao's romantic feelings, Sheng Jingchu rushed to the appreciation party in a taxi, desperately trying to call Cheng Liao to stop her from getting hurt. Inside, Cheng Liao felt increasingly anxious. She tried to make conversation with Xu Chi, noting that she was "thirsty" and "a bit nervous."
She excused herself to the restroom to calm down, reassuring herself that Xu Chi already liked her and she just needed to be brave. However, upon returning, she saw Xu Chi with Cheng Yi. Taking a gulp of champagne for courage, Cheng Liao decided to take the stage. When asked what she was doing, she announced she was going to tell a story.
As Cheng Liao began her story, her phone, in her hand, rang repeatedly with Sheng Jingchu's calls, but she didn't answer. Fueled by alcohol, she vulnerably recounted her deep feelings for a boy, expressing her fear of missing out if she didn't speak up. She then directly asked, "I like you. Are you willing to be with me?" Just as she finished, Sheng Jingchu arrived, stepping onto the stage and declaring, "Of course, I'm."
Cheng Liao was startled and told him not to joke around as she was serious. Without another word, Sheng Jingchu kissed Cheng Liao and then led her out of the venue. Outside, Cheng Liao chastised Sheng Jingchu, furious that he had ruined her courageous attempt to confess to Xu Chi. Sheng Jingchu then told her to turn around. To her shock, she saw Xu Chi holding flowers, confessing his love to Cheng Yi. Tears welled up in Cheng Liao's eyes.
Sheng Jingchu gently covered her eyes and led her away, not wanting her to witness any more. They took a taxi, driving aimlessly until the driver grew confused. Cheng Liao, feeling hungry, decided to go to Sheng Jingchu's house, where she could cook to ease her mind. She explained that cooking was her therapeutic process, a way to clear her head through the steps of preparing a meal. Even after cooking and serving the food, Cheng Liao was still upset.
She asked Sheng Jingchu for alcohol to numb her pain. Her sister, Cheng Yi, called, asking about her relationship with Sheng Jingchu and whether they were still together after the public confession. Cheng Liao promised to explain later and told her not to worry. After hanging up, Cheng Liao praised Cheng Yi, calling her beautiful, smart, and "the best role model" who would be a "perfect match" for Xu Chi.
Drunk, Cheng Liao confessed her long-standing secret crush on Xu Chi, lamenting that everything was now gone. The next morning, Cheng Liao called Sheng Jingchu, urging him to keep their "confession" a secret. Since everyone at the party now believed they were dating, they decided to pretend to be a couple for the time being.
