Cheng Liao expressed how thrilling Sheng Jingchu's victory was, comparing it to a Hollywood movie where he turned defeat into victory at the last minute. Sheng Jingchu, however, admitted he wouldn't have won if not for Kato Kiyomasa's mistake. Cheng Liao then asked if the missing Tao Te Ching was very important to him, but he didn't directly answer.

Instead, Sheng Jingchu asked Cheng Liao if she was still in a bad mood, then added that he felt much calmer after someone hugged him before the game. Cheng Liao felt she didn't know how to help him. She then suggested they go for cakes that night, noting he must be tired and in a bad mood. Sheng Jingchu proposed they celebrate with cakes after he won the championship.

Cheng Liao's director called, so she had to leave, but reminded him to wait for her to have cake together after his next match, wishing him good luck. Reporters tried to interview Sheng Jingchu, but he remained silent. In another match, Cao Xihe faced Zhao Yanxun. Zhao Yanxun emerged victorious. After the game, Zhao Yanxun questioned Cao Xihe about why he had been staring at him throughout the game, implying a rivalry that extended beyond the chessboard.

Back home, Yao Ke confronted his younger brother for stealing and discarding Sheng Jingchu's Tao Te Ching. His brother dismissed it as a "useless book" and denied stealing, claiming he did it for Yao Ke's sake because he couldn't stand seeing Sheng Jingchu constantly make Yao Ke unhappy and cause him to lose so many championships, leading Yao Ke to overwork himself and practice chess like crazy.

Yao Ke, however, was furious, asserting he wanted to defeat Sheng Jingchu fairly with his own skills, not through dishonest means. He reminded his brother that their parents entrusted him to Yao Ke for proper guidance, not for such behavior. He demanded his brother leave and go back home. The brother, falling to his knees, pleaded not to be sent away, admitting his mistake and expressing his frustration at seeing Yao Ke constantly struggle against Sheng Jingchu.

Yao Ke eventually relented and told him to get up. Sheng Jingchu returned home and reflected on his master's past teachings. He recalled a time when, as a young boy, he couldn't understand the Tao Te Ching. His master had explained that it was a book meant for him to read and understand when he grew older, and that true learning came from personal exploration.

The master told him a story about Lao Zi and his teacher Shang Rong, emphasizing that a master shows the way, but the true path is self-made. He encouraged young Sheng Jingchu to surpass him, assuring him he would be proud when that day came. The final match against Zhao Yanxun arrived. Reporters observed Sheng Jingchu's subdued demeanor, and Zhao Yanxun openly questioned if he'd had enough sleep.

Cheng Liao, feeling guilty, wondered if she should have accompanied him earlier, but Xiao Lan pointed out Zhao Yanxun's superior skill and psychological warfare tactics, making him a much tougher opponent than Kato Kiyomasa. During the commentary by Yao Ke and Cao Xihe, Cao Xihe tried to maintain a positive outlook, but Yao Ke pointed out Sheng Jingchu's significant errors and inconsistent strategy, noting that he had made obvious mistakes that a more focused player wouldn't.

Despite hopes for a comeback, Sheng Jingchu ultimately lost to Zhao Yanxun. Cheng Liao, disheartened, rushed to find Sheng Jingchu but couldn't. She eventually found him standing alone by the sea, and seeing his solitary figure, she couldn't help but cry. Sheng Jingchu, noticing her tears, asked if she was feeling sorry for him. Cheng Liao denied it, trying to reassure him that it was just one game and he was still a legend.

Cheng Liao then suggested they go eat cake, remembering his previous comment about desserts making people happy. She expressed her deep sadness at his loss, confessing that she felt responsible, thinking that if the Tao Te Ching hadn't been lost, or if she had come to eat cake and chat with him earlier, his mood might have been better and he might not have lost.

Sheng Jingchu, however, dismissed her self-blame, stating that losing was his own fault and an inevitable part of the game. He explained that his master gave him a Tao Te Ching to teach him to detach from the outcomes of victory and defeat, embodying the philosophy that "supreme virtue is like water," which benefits all things without contention.

He admitted that while he understood the philosophy, truly embodying it after a loss remained a challenge, and apologized for making her feel distressed. When Cheng Liao worried about his ability to recover for the next match, he affirmed he would try his best. Master Xie visited Sheng Jingchu, expressing his disappointment that Sheng Jingchu allowed the loss of a book to affect his performance.

He chastised Sheng Jingchu for relying too much on the Tao Te Ching rather than understanding its philosophy. Sheng Jingchu admitted his fault, acknowledging that he shouldn't have let his mind be disturbed and that he would change. Master Xie then produced a new copy of the Tao Te Ching, revealing that Cheng Liao had bought it and asked him to deliver it and speak with Sheng Jingchu.

He praised Cheng Liao as a wonderful, caring girl who had even cried while talking about Sheng Jingchu's struggles, urging Sheng Jingchu not to miss such a good opportunity. They then shared some wine. Before leaving, Master Xie advised Sheng Jingchu to rest early for his upcoming match and not to stay up all night reading the new book.

Cheng Liao, still concerned about Sheng Jingchu, sent him a text message, wishing him all the best for his match the next day and expressing her faith in him. The next game between Sheng Jingchu and Zhao Yanxun commenced. Sheng Jingchu appeared at the match, and Zhao Yanxun tried to greet him, but Sheng Jingchu seemed distracted, scanning the crowd for Cheng Liao. A smile appeared on his face when he spotted her.

Xiao Lan, observing Cheng Liao, playfully commented about Sheng Jingchu being in top form with her "magic weapon." As the game progressed, Sheng Jingchu quickly found his rhythm, pressing Zhao Yanxun hard and leaving him in a difficult position. Commentators Cao Xihe and Yao Ke excitedly analyzed Sheng Jingchu's brilliant moves, highlighting the difficult "hane" and "cut" choices Zhao Yanxun faced.

Zhao Yanxun, after much deliberation, was defeated by Sheng Jingchu, evening their score and leading to a decisive final match. After the game, Zhao Yanxun approached Sheng Jingchu, complaining to the hotel staff about poor sound insulation, fear of heights, and bad lighting affecting his sleep and mood, ultimately claiming these factors contributed to his loss. He then directly demanded to stay at Sheng Jingchu's house, arguing that a fair match required an identical sleeping environment.

Sheng Jingchu, accepting the challenge, agreed to let him stay, vowing to ensure Zhao Yanxun would have no excuses for defeat. Zhao Yanxun moved into Sheng Jingchu's house. Upon arrival, he admired the house and started exploring, picking up a famous object before being told by Sheng Jingchu to put it down and sit. Later, Zhao Yanxun tried to watch TV but was informed that no TV was allowed after 9 PM.

Feeling bored and hungry, he went to the refrigerator, comparing it to a convenience store. Sheng Jingchu appeared, startling him, and clarified that all items in the fridge were "priceless" and not for sale. He further explained that these were items Cheng Liao had bought for him, which he himself was reluctant to touch, let alone an uninvited guest. He advised Zhao Yanxun to buy his own food.

Zhao Yanxun found Sheng Jingchu's hospitality "too much" and "harsh," but declared he would stay, even if it meant sleeping on the sofa, as Sheng Jingchu refused him access to a "private guest room." Later, Cheng Liao made a video call to Sheng Jingchu, concerned about Zhao Yanxun's presence affecting his sleep before the final match. Sheng Jingchu admitted he was a little bothered by Zhao Yanxun's snoring.

To help him sleep, Cheng Liao told him a bedtime story about a tiny bird learning to fly. Sheng Jingchu quickly fell asleep, much to Cheng Liao's surprise. The next morning, Xiao Lan called Cheng Liao, still playfully teasing her about Sheng Jingchu being her "boyfriend" and urging her to have confidence in him for the final match, reminding her that Sheng Jingchu had already made a comeback after losing the first game against Zhao Yanxun.
