> Reborn Recap
That evening, Qiao Qingyu chatted with Ming Sheng. Ming Sheng sighed that although he had been away for the past six months, he often thought about the days they spent going to school back in their hometown. He missed her and always wanted to know how she was doing. Back then, he truly wanted to help Qiao Qingyu escape from that troublesome city.
Ming Sheng had always shown up when Qiao Qingyu was in danger, and she was deeply grateful to him. But she never wanted to hold him back, so all she kept in her heart was a silent blessing. The next day, when the host called out Qiao Qingyu’s name from the program list, she was already prepared. Wearing her sister Qiao Beiyu’s dance shoes, she stepped onto the stage and danced gracefully.
In that moment, she felt as if she had seen Beiyu again—even felt as if Beiyu was dancing within her, fulfilling her unfinished dream. Qiao Qingyu performed the exact same dance her sister once did. After finishing the performance, she quietly changed clothes and left. At the door, Ming Sheng was already waiting. He suggested that since they had come all the way to Jiangzhou, they should explore the city together. Ming Sheng took Qiao Qingyu to the aquarium.
Above them was a sea of deep blue water, filled with colorful schools of fish swimming freely. Surrounded by beauty and serenity, Qiao Qingyu was overjoyed. After that, they went to an amusement park, riding the carousel and roller coasters together. The air was filled with cheerful laughter and music—the two of them had a truly joyful day. That night, Ming Sheng brought Qiao Qingyu to the seaside. Facing the refreshing sea breeze, they lit fireworks together.
Ming Sheng asked Qiao Qingyu what her wish was. She replied that her biggest wish was to get into Jiangzhou University and live a free, self-directed life—one where she could take control of her own future. Ming Sheng looked at her seriously and said he was truly grateful to have met her. Through everything they had gone through, they had cherished each other deeply.
When dawn came and it was time for Qiao Qingyu to return home, they had to say goodbye. Ming Sheng gently took her hand and bit it lightly. He explained that when they first met, Qiao Qingyu had bitten him, so now he was just returning the favor—and now they were even. The hooligan who once harassed Qiao Qingyu was released from prison.
Not long after, he showed up at her family’s restaurant for revenge, bringing a gang of thugs with him. They caused trouble at the restaurant for several days in a row. Qiao Qingyu tried to confront him, but she was no match for the gang. In the end, it was her father who stepped forward, holding a gas tank in his arms. He warned them that if they didn’t leave, they’d all die together right there.
Seeing he was serious, the gang scattered and ran away. Rumors began to spread at school—people were saying that the hooligan, Blackie, who had harassed Qiao Qingyu, was out of prison and causing her trouble again. With the college entrance exams approaching, many believed Qiao Qingyu would be seriously affected by the ordeal. After school, Blackie once again blocked Qiao Qingyu's path and asked her what she wanted to eat. She ignored him completely.
Enraged, he blurted out the truth about what happened between him and Beiyu. When Qiao Qingyu heard that he had posted Beiyu’s illness online, she finally understood the real reason behind her sister’s suicide. She snapped, rushed at him, and slapped him repeatedly, accusing him of being responsible for Beiyu’s death. Blackie, knowing he was in the wrong, was unexpectedly shaken by Qiao Qingyu’s words. He turned and walked away. Ming Sheng, who had seen Blackie bothering Qiao Qingyu again, became increasingly worried about her safety.
