Murong Ce pressed Lingxiang about what major event was about to happen, only then did Lingxiang realize that Murong Changfeng had kept it even from Murong Ce. On the other hand, Murong Changfeng met with Changming and was pleased that Chong Guang had found Mo Xiao, and that the Thousand Years Token was about to be activated. Murong Changfeng promised that once they obtained the token, he would let Changming reunite with her sister.

In the past, Ye Yuan had used the Blood Demon Pearl to revive Chong Guang. Murong Changfeng had arranged for Changming to stay by Chong Guang’s side and knew the weakness of the Blood Demon Pearl—removing it would destroy Chong Guang. However, Changming had developed feelings for Chong Guang and pleaded with Murong Changfeng to spare Chong Guang’s life. Murong Changfeng only laughed heartily without giving a clear response.

Before activating the Heaven Demon Order to head to Buzhou Mountain, Mo Xiao was visited by Wushuang, who came with worry. Mo Xiao had come to understand why Fengyue once brought a demon child home to raise and protect the Thousand Years Token. In truth, Fengyue had long seen clearly that regardless of being demon or immortal, what truly mattered was a righteous heart. What needed protecting was never the Thousand Years Token itself.

If the heart held no righteousness, even the Immortal Sect could become a den of demons. Wushuang wept, knowing that Mo Xiao only cared about the people of the world. After eighteen long years of finally finding him again, she feared something might happen to him.

Mo Xiao, moved by his mother's love, asked her to pass a message to Feng Lixue: if anything happened to him, she should tell Feng Lixue that on the Peach Blossom Riverbank, he had prepared a home for her where she could live out the rest of her life in peace. Feng Lixue, uneasy about Mo Xiao, disguised herself and approached him, suggesting they leave together.

Mo Xiao, pretending to be cold and distant, sarcastically accused Feng Lixue of being vain, implying she came to him only when Chong Guang’s position was threatened. Feng Lixue simply did not want Mo Xiao to continue down this path, fearing he would never return to righteousness. But Mo Xiao insisted he was born a demon and could never return to the right path. Feng Lixue proposed they live as an ordinary married couple, but Mo Xiao rejected her again.

Feng Lixue humbly begged him not to give up on himself or on Mount Shu. She knew Mo Xiao bore the burden of the world, and to her, he was a shining light illuminating the snowy mountains. Mo Xiao was deeply moved by her love, but the pain from the Heart-Guarding Sand returned. Gritting his teeth, he drove Feng Lixue away. Feng Lixue returned in despair, only to find Chong Guang already waiting for her in the main hall.

He knew she had gone to Yaoling Palace and advised Wushuang to accept reality. Now that Mo Xiao was Fengyue's successor and Ye Yuan’s bloodline, no one could stop him from obtaining the Thousand Years Token. Chong Guang firmly believed that with Mo Xiao’s help, he would certainly get it. The next day, under Chong Guang’s order, Mo Xiao prepared to activate the Heaven Demon Order and summon an army of one hundred thousand demons.

But Feng Lixue suddenly seized the order and leapt toward the Abyss of Heavenly Demons, intending to have her body torn apart by all spirits. That way, the Heaven Demon Order would vanish, making the Thousand Years Token impossible to obtain. Feng Lixue looked at Mo Xiao and said she would make the choice for him. Chong Guang clutched his chest in pain as he watched her fall. Mo Xiao leaped in after her without hesitation.

Wushuang screamed Mo Xiao’s name and tried to jump after him, but was held tightly by Xuyuan Yunchao. Feng Lixue smiled as she sank—this time, it was finally her turn to help Mo Xiao. Mo Xiao flew downward, calling her name. Though Chong Guang was suffering from backlash, he ignored his pain and ordered Changming to save Feng Lixue.

Right Protector Tu Shuo saved both Feng Lixue and Mo Xiao and brought them to his cave, where he had long awaited Mo Xiao’s return. Though Feng Lixue was saved, she had absorbed the power of the Three Sacred Stones and remained unconscious. Tu Shuo suggested transferring the stone’s power into Mo Xiao, though it would cause great pain as it clashed with his mixed immortal-demon essence. Mo Xiao willingly endured the suffering to save Feng Lixue.

In the Void Realm, Mo Xiao seemed to see another, demonized version of himself. The demonized Mo Xiao blamed him for suppressing his demonic power. But Mo Xiao insisted he would never betray the Sword Master. As the two forces clashed within him, the demon voice repeatedly told Mo Xiao he was meant to be a demon. In a fierce battle in the Void Realm, Mo Xiao was struck down.

Suddenly, he saw Fengyue’s figure and blamed him for not killing him when he had the chance—if he had died then, he wouldn’t be suffering now. Fengyue reminded Mo Xiao of his teachings: as long as he guarded his heart and righteousness, he would never be a demon. Yuan Beichen also appeared beside Mo Xiao. The Heart-Guarding Sand he planted was meant to constantly test Mo Xiao’s heart.

He hoped Mo Xiao would trust his own conscience—if his heart was righteous, he could subdue demons and uphold justice. But Mo Xiao, lost, didn’t know how to do that, begging his master for guidance. Yuan Beichen vanished without answering. Seeing Mo Xiao on the brink of losing control, Tu Shuo used his cultivation to stabilize Mo Xiao’s mind. He told him that although demons and immortals walked different paths, they ultimately sought the same end.

But it was Chong Guang’s appearance that sparked greed, leading Ye Yuan astray. Now, it was time to return everything to its rightful course. Mo Xiao came to understand everything. With a single move, he vanquished the demon in his heart. Upon awakening, he found that the Heaven Demon Mark on his forehead had vanished, as had the Heart-Guarding Sand on his arm.

Tu Shuo, overjoyed that his mission was finally complete, disappeared before Mo Xiao’s eyes, going to reunite with Mo Yuan. Mo Xiao carried Feng Lixue away from the Abyss of Heavenly Demons. Wushuang wept with joy. While resisting the backlash, Chong Guang was relieved to learn that Feng Lixue had been rescued. However, he was surprised to hear that Mo Xiao and Feng Lixue had already left Mount Suyu.

Murong Changfeng also received news that the Heaven Demon Order had been destroyed. Murong Ce, having learned all of his father’s deeds, became withdrawn and gloomy. Xie Lingyun, under Murong Jing’s day-and-night care, gradually regained consciousness. At the same time, Feng Lixue opened her eyes to find herself lying in the home from the illusion she once shared with Mo Xiao. She thought she had died, yet she had returned here.

Feng Lixue looked around, recalling all the beautiful moments she and Mo Xiao had shared there—it all felt like just yesterday. Silent tears streamed down her cheeks. In the distance, Mo Xiao approached, waving a fish in his hand to show her. Feng Lixue smiled through her tears. Mo Xiao grilled the fish for Feng Lixue. She had thought it was all a dream, but it turned out to be real. She was glad the Heart-Guarding Sand had disappeared.

Mo Xiao, however, still felt fear at the memory of her jumping into the abyss, scolding her for acting recklessly. Feng Lixue was willing to sacrifice herself for Mo Xiao. He held her tightly, overwhelmed with emotion. Mo Xiao asked Feng Lixue never to do anything foolish again. She promised. When Murong Changfeng returned and opened the secret chamber door, Murong Ce appeared behind him.
