Destiny and Saving Episode 36 Recap
> Destiny and Saving Recap
Mo Xiao believed that being born a demon child was an original sin. Xuyuan Wushuang felt guilty and didn’t know how to explain, so she simply handed over the items that Xuan Zhen had entrusted her to give to Mo Xiao. Xuan Zhen believed that in this world, the only one who could both protect and believe in Mo Xiao was his mother.
Wushuang originally wanted to leave the room, afraid of seeing what was inside the bundle, but Mo Xiao felt that since Xuan Zhen had passed the items to Wushuang, there was nothing to hide. Inside the bundle, besides the Sect Leader’s Token, were also Yuan Beichen’s two eyeballs. Upon seeing this, Mo Xiao immediately knelt down, understanding that there must be something his master wanted to convey.
Yuan Beichen had told Mo Xiao about what he witnessed during the great war between immortals and demons. Ye Yuan had heard the cry of a baby and knew that Wushuang had given birth. At that time, the Heaven Demon Token had already been destroyed by Feng Yue and divided into three parts. The Desire Demon Stone was entrusted to Chong Guang, along with leadership over the demon clan.
Chong Guang would inevitably start the immortal-demon war, and the only one who could bring peace was Mo Xiao. Wushuang tearfully watched the entire account unfold, but didn’t know how to comfort Mo Xiao. She could only turn and leave, leaving Mo Xiao to sit alone in silence, tears streaming as he gazed at Yuan Beichen’s eyes. Wushuang went alone to see Shi Bujiu and Xuyuan Yunchao.
When Shi Bujiu didn’t hear any crying from inside the room, he assumed Mo Xiao refused to recognize Wushuang as his mother and wanted to check on him. Wushuang stopped Shi Bujiu, hoping Mo Xiao could have some quiet. Whether Mo Xiao would return with her would depend on his own decision. Chong Guang realized Feng Lixue was missing and ordered people to search everywhere, but she was nowhere to be found.
Just as he was flying into a rage, Feng Lixue returned alone. Chong Guang anxiously asked about her whereabouts, but Feng Lixue walked off silently, completely ignoring him. Chong Guang clutched his chest in pain and instructed Chang Ming to deliver the medicinal wine he had prepared to Feng Lixue. That night, Chang Ming went alone to see Murong Changfeng, kneeling as he presented a bottle of potion. Murong Changfeng smiled with satisfaction. Mo Xiao decided to leave with Wushuang.
The villagers came to persuade them to stay. After finally seeing the saintess, they were reluctant to part. In public, Wushuang declared that from now on, she and Mo Xiao had no connection with the Xuyuan tribe. Everyone understood she did it to protect them and held deep respect for her. Wushuang turned to look at the clan leader’s room, kneeling with tears to bid farewell. Mo Xiao, seeing his mother’s actions, was visibly moved.
Shi Bujiu comforted Wushuang, constantly complaining about Xiao Langtou’s lack of sentiment, that he wouldn’t even come out to send off his daughter and grandson. But Wushuang didn’t blame her father—she understood his temperament. Then she left with Mo Xiao and Xuyuan Yunchao. Only after they had departed did Xiao Langtou step out to watch them go, silently waving goodbye. While brushing Feng Lixue’s hair, Chang Ming reported to Chong Guang that Wushuang and Mo Xiao had returned.
People from the Seven Caverns and Nine Abysses all said they wouldn’t meet with Mo Xiao, but Chong Guang insisted they must all go to greet him. He even wanted Feng Lixue to join, dressed in splendid ceremonial robes. Chang Ming anxiously waited for Feng Lixue to finish dressing, but she was deliberately stalling.
In truth, she had disguised herself and captured a messenger from the demon clan, instructing him to send orders to release the Four Great Sect Masters to go down the mountain and stop Mo Xiao from ascending Mount Suyu. Just before this, Chang Ming had delivered an order forbidding the release of the Four Sect Masters, causing confusion. But seeing how firm the messenger’s words were, they had no choice but to obey.
Feng Lixue then returned to finish dressing and followed Chang Ming to meet Chong Guang. Everyone waited at the foot of the mountain for Wushuang and Mo Xiao’s arrival. Chong Guang outwardly welcomed Mo Xiao and announced a grand ceremony would be held in his honor in a few days, but he clearly had ulterior motives. He even deliberately kissed the back of Feng Lixue’s hand in front of Mo Xiao, who acted as if he saw nothing.
Suddenly, the Four Sect Masters arrived and blocked Mo Xiao’s path up the mountain. Feng Lixue was the first to attack him, and the two eventually drifted away from the others and fought in a secluded spot. Unexpectedly, Feng Lixue handed the Feng Yue Sword to Mo Xiao, urging him to leave. She reminded him he was a disciple of the Sword Master of Feng Yue and should not be here.
Realizing something was wrong, Chong Guang rushed to the scene. Feng Lixue struck Mo Xiao deliberately with a palm, but Chong Guang still sensed that she had regained her consciousness. Feng Lixue admitted that she had already been awakened by the Feng Yue Sword in front of the Demon Subduing Hall on Mount Shu, but she had been pretending not to be conscious.
Chong Guang reminded her that she was now the Demon Empress, but Feng Lixue insisted that it was just a ceremonial title and nothing could change reality. Chong Guang was furious at her disregard. Feng Lixue went to see Mo Xiao, who had been depressed since his return, drowning himself in wine and music. She expressed her concern, but Mo Xiao simply bowed and formally addressed her as “Demon Empress. ” Seeing Mo Xiao’s hostility, Feng Lixue left.
Wushuang praised Mo Xiao for doing the right thing, since Feng Lixue was now Chong Guang’s consort, but Mo Xiao didn’t even want to talk to her and walked away. Wushuang felt heartbroken and blamed herself more for not protecting Mo Xiao. Though Mo Xiao appeared cold to Feng Lixue, he missed her deeply. His feelings for her only grew stronger, and because of that, the pain in his arm intensified. Yet he could only endure it alone in secret.
