Lin Shen appeared at the Cold Harem, demanding the two traitors of the Creed hiding inside. Rong Le calmly denied anyone else was there, inviting him to check for himself. As Lin Shen stepped in, Xiang Ying immediately launched a flying dart, and Hen Xiang joined the fray.

Lin Shen, who had personally trained both Xiang Ying and Hen Xiang, asserted they were no match for him and that Xiang Ying had brought his fate upon himself by breaking the Creed's rule against emotions and attachment. Xiang Ying and Hen Xiang quickly fled, pulling Rong Le with them. Xiang Ying stayed behind, holding the door firmly to delay Lin Shen. Lin Shen pierced him through the door with his sword.

As he died, Xiang Ying’s thoughts turned to Hen Xiang, recalling their agreement. He told her not to rush to her own death and that she deserved a better life, affirming she was his only family. Though they would go their separate ways, he would be waiting for her if fate brought them together again. Rong Qi awoke from a nightmare, much to the eunuch's relief.

The eunuch confessed he had desperately sought medicine from the Empress Dowager for Rong Qi, advising him to obey her and stop risking his life. Rong Qi remained silent. Suddenly, an attendant reported trouble at the Cold Harem, informing Rong Qi that Princess Rong Le was missing. Rong Le and Hen Xiang, disguised as palace maids, moved discreetly through the palace. Upon hearing a baby’s cries from a nearby palace, Rong Le hesitated.

Hen Xiang pulled her behind a rock, where they observed Fu Yuan emerging, confirming Rong Le’s suspicion that Fu Yuan was indeed the Empress Dowager of Western Qi. Hen Xiang’s eyes landed on a palace maid holding her daughter, causing her to bump a pillar in her agitation. Fu Yuan heard the sound and ordered guards to search. Rong Le immediately told Hen Xiang to hide and stepped out, allowing herself to be discovered.

Fu Yuan expressed surprise that Rong Le had escaped the Cold Harem once again. She admitted to being the mastermind, praising Rong Le for successfully alienating the twin brothers, Wu You and Fu Chou, whom she had sent Rong Le to Northern Lin to use as a pawn. Just then, Lin Shen arrived with guards. Fu Yuan questioned him about the commotion.

Lin Shen reported that two Creed traitors had infiltrated the Cold Harem, with Xiang Ying already dealt with, and suspected Hen Xiang had rescued Rong Le. He asked Rong Le about Hen Xiang's whereabouts, but Rong Le claimed Hen Xiang had left the palace. Fu Yuan scoffed, saying Hen Xiang would never leave while her daughter was still in her hands. Rong Le then urgently inquired about her own son.

Fu Yuan evaded the question and ordered Rong Le to be returned to the Cold Harem, threatening the guards with severe punishment if anything went wrong before noon the next day. Rong Qi led Hen Xiang to a secluded spot. Hen Xiang, taking Rong Qi by surprise, held a dagger to his throat, demanding his true intentions and accusing him of taking her sister and nephew.

Rong Qi calmly explained he had saved her from Lin Shen and had a plan to save Rong Le, but required Hen Xiang's cooperation. He challenged her to stab him now if she didn't believe him, but warned that Rong Le would surely die if she hesitated. As Rong Le was being escorted back to the Cold Harem, a black-clad figure appeared, distracting the guards. An agile, disguised Hen Xiang swiftly swapped places with Rong Le.

Rong Qi then quickly led Rong Le away to his own palace. Unbeknownst to them, Lin Shen had witnessed the entire exchange. Inside Rong Qi's palace, Rong Le held a hairpin to her throat, confronting him. She demanded to know if her "Destined Poison" was a result of his actions or his mother's plot, and if he was merely forced into their schemes.

Despite a persistent inner voice telling her he would never harm her, she felt deeper pain each time she trusted him, believing he had poisoned her. Rong Qi admitted that she was indeed poisoned because of him, his voice trembling. Rong Le, assuming his motives, accused him of using her son and Hen Xiang’s daughter as leverage against Fu Chou and Wu You to conquer Northern Lin and unify the land.

Rong Qi confirmed his ambition, stating that all emperors harbored such desires. He declared he had no regrets and would act the same way if given another chance. Rong Le, in turn, expressed regret for ever having met Wu You or him. Rong Qi noticed her poison acting up again and urged her to stay still. Meanwhile, Fu Yuan and Zongzheng Yunhe were seated at a chessboard. Fu Yuan, gloating about her impending victory, began to reveal dark secrets.

She confessed that the child she bore after being violated by Rong Yi was Rong Qi, who was immediately taken to Western Qi by Lin Shen after birth. As for Fu Chou, she revealed he was Zongzheng Yunhe’s son with Lady Yun, Wu You's twin brother.

She recounted how she had ordered Lin Shen to swap him with an infant's corpse after his birth, raising him by her side, unbeknownst to Zongzheng Yunhe, and shaping him into his enemy, naming him Fu Chou. She even admitted to fooling Zongzheng Yunhe when he came to check for a birthmark on Fu Chou's arm. Zongzheng Yunhe listened in disbelief, his fist clenched. As Fu Yuan leaned closer, he lunged, seizing her throat.

Lin Shen swiftly intervened, striking Zongzheng Yunhe to the ground. Lin Shen then moved to kill Zongzheng Yunhe, but Fu Yuan stopped him. Lin Shen angrily reminded her of his sacrifices, how he had become a eunuch for her and single-handedly laced the Shilixiang Wine with Scorpion Toxin, giving her his heart. He questioned why she still couldn't bear to kill Zongzheng Yunhe, who had used and tortured her.

Fu Yuan, soothing him, promised a satisfactory reward once their plan succeeded the next day. She emphasized the plan must proceed flawlessly and instructed Lin Shen to send more men to watch Rong Qi, knowing he would try everything to save Rong Le. For unknown reasons, Lin Shen concealed Rong Qi’s actions in swapping Rong Le. News reached Wu You that Consort Rong Le was imprisoned in the Cold Harem, heavily guarded by the Creed of Vengeance.

Wu You planned to infiltrate the palace at midnight to rescue her. However, Leng Yan rushed in with urgent news: a royal billboard announced that the Empress Dowager would execute Princess Rong Le at Qide Gate that very night at midnight. Rong Qi sat on the ground, with Rong Le lying weakly beside him.

He gazed at the objects in the hall, reflecting on Rong Le's resolute love and hate – her willingness to die for love, and her mercilessness in hate. He believed her arrival had given his life purpose, yet lamented fate's cruelty in allowing him to love her but denying them a future together. Rong Le, confused, didn't understand his words. Rong Qi repeatedly urged her to live well, to avoid hardship and suffering, and to live happily ever after.

He also told her to never forgive him, to hate him with all her might, believing she would not mourn if the person she hated was gone. He then declared that his wish had been fulfilled, and he was ready to depart this world, carrying his love and hate with him. Ke'er entered, announcing that everything was ready. Rong Qi confirmed he was ready as well.

That night, Wu You and Fu Chou infiltrated the Cold Harem, only to find it empty. They were quickly surrounded by guards. After fighting their way through, Wu You and Fu Chou reached Yongyang Palace, where they found only Rong Qi seated in the center. Fu Yuan then appeared, smugly ordering a curtain to be pulled back, revealing two cages. Inside were Zongzheng Yunhe and Hen Xiang, who was disguised as Rong Le.

Wu You angrily questioned Rong Qi's cruelty towards his own sister, but Rong Qi remained silent. Fu Yuan offered them a chance to save a life: if the two brothers fought to the death, she would hand over Rong Le and Zongzheng Yunhe to the survivor. Wu You threatened that if his father and Rong Le died, everyone present would be sacrificed at their funeral. He drew his sword and faced Fu Chou. The brothers exchanged a knowing glance.

As Fu Yuan watched, entertained, Wu You and Fu Chou, during their staged duel, simultaneously cut open the cages, freeing Zongzheng Yunhe and Hen Xiang. Fu Yuan cursed their shared parentage, acknowledging their flawless coordination. Suddenly, Lin Shen arrived with members of the Creed, surrounding the four. " Rong Le," who was Hen Xiang in disguise, became emotional upon seeing the child.

Lin Shen then explicitly told Fu Chou not to stare at his brother's child but to look at the other one – his own daughter, Nian, whom Hen Xiang had secretly given birth to and hidden from him for a year. Lin Shen then revealed that "Rong Le" was Hen Xiang in disguise, stating that her trick could not fool him as he had taught her the mastery of disguise.

Fu Yuan, witnessing Rong Qi's silence, furiously questioned if he had secretly swapped Rong Le again. The eunuch desperately explained that the emperor was ill and had lost his voice due to coughing. Fu Yuan then commanded Hen Xiang to throw "Rong Le's" child, Wu You's son, into the fire, promising to return Hen Xiang's own daughter in exchange. Hen Xiang picked up a dagger.

Fu Chou frantically tried to stop her, warning that he would never forgive her if she did it, urging her to lay down the dagger and look at their daughter, Nian. Fu Yuan, observing the scene, commented to Rong Qi that everyone was selfish and despicable when faced with desperate choices. Rong Qi remained unresponsive. Fu Yuan approached him and pushed him, only to discover that Rong Qi had died. Simultaneously, the real Rong Le awoke in another location.

She saw desserts and a jade pendant by her bedside. Memories flooded back, and she fully regained her memory, realizing that Rong Qi, her "Qi Gege," was the one who had grown up with her and always looked out for her. Ke'er told her she had been asleep for about an hour. Rong Le asked about "the emperor" (Rong Qi) and noticed the medicine smelled of blood.

Ke'er initially refused to elaborate, only stating that Rong Le had been cured of the poison. Rong Le recalled being told the only cure was to transfer the poison to her child during labor and demanded to know if there was another method, if a new tome had been found, and what had truly happened.

Ke'er finally revealed that Fu Yuan had once suffered from the "Destined Poison" and had transferred it to her newborn son, Rong Qi, to survive, which explained his lifelong illness and need for monthly medicine. She explained that Rong Qi’s blood contained the antidote and that her master had recorded another way to remove the poison in a tome: "blood for blood, a life for a life." Rong Le then immediately left, presumably to find Rong Qi.
