Guards relentlessly followed Ke'er, prompting Wu Yu to investigate. Spotting the concealed Wu Yu, Ke'er loudly announced she was heading to a bamboo forest in the western outskirts to gather herbs. Her pursuers followed, and Wu Yu created a diversion, successfully rescuing her. Once safe, Ke'er revealed that Rong Le had sent her out of the General's Mansion for help, as Rong Le herself was trapped inside.
Upon hearing this, Wu Yu immediately decided to gather reinforcements and charge into the mansion to save Rong Le while Fu Chou was absent. Inside the mansion, an impatient Rong Le decided she could not wait for Ke'er. She resolved to escape on her own, instructing Ling Yue to remain hidden. Later that night, Wu Yu led his troops to the General's Mansion, fabricating a story that a thief from his own manor had been tracked to Fu Chou's residence.
His men quickly swept through the compound but only found Ling Yue, who informed him that Rong Le, unable to wait, had already escaped. Wu Yu deduced that Rong Le’s urgent escape must be about a matter of great importance, possibly concerning his brother, Wu You. Meanwhile, Rong Le, clad in night clothes, sought an escape route from a secluded part of the mansion. She noticed a servant delivering food to a supposedly uninhabited shack and cautiously approached.
She was astonished to find Fu Chou inside, despite him being officially on a military campaign with the Emperor. Inside, Hen Xiang voiced her concern that the Crown Prince, upon taking power, might become uncontrollable. Fu Chou dismissed her worries, confident the Crown Prince lacked the capability to harm him, and instructed Hen Xiang to keep the prince in check.
Fu Chou darkly mused that after more than two decades of waiting, Wu You would soon endure the same pain he had suffered, as his day of vengeance against Wu You and his father was at hand. Rong Le, eavesdropping, was shocked by their conspiracy. She accidentally nudged a vase, but Xiang Ying appeared, caught it in time, and discreetly led her away.
It was revealed that after the incident at Lake Qingliang, Fu Chou had left Xiang Ying gravely wounded in a shack. Rong Le had found and saved him, earning his eternal loyalty. Rong Le asked if he could rescue Ling Yue, but Xiang Ying cautioned that the mansion would be heavily guarded. He reassured her, however, that Fu Chou would likely not harm Ling Yue.
Rong Le then entrusted Xiang Ying with a crucial task: to deliver a tactical layout plan detailing troop deployments around the capital, which she had memorized from Fu Chou's study, along with her black jade fan, to Wu You. She revealed the mutiny plot she had overheard and declared her intention to go to the main army camp and inform the Emperor.
After her departure, Fu Chou discovered her absence and, assuming she had gone to Wu You, dispatched guards to intercept her. At court, the Crown Prince arrived late and intoxicated. When a minister reported that the army was short on provisions and forcing farmers to give up their planting seeds would cause an uprising, the Crown Prince callously suggested suppressing any revolt.
Wu Yu condemned him as a tyrant, and the Crown Prince, in turn, assigned Wu Yu the impossible task of procuring provisions within ten days under threat of martial law. At the military camp, the Emperor, wary of Fu Chou, assigned him only minor tasks. While receiving a military report, the Emperor suddenly felt dizzy but refused to summon a physician, fearing it would undermine army morale.
Just then, Rong Le arrived and, seeing his reluctance to withdraw the army, revealed that the Crown Prince was conspiring to stage a mutiny. The Emperor was skeptical, asserting he had made preparations: the Armor Troops were in Zhongshan while Fu Chou was with him, the Royal Army was under Wu Yu’s control, and Wu You was secretly moving the Southern army toward the capital. Rong Le insisted she had seen Fu Chou in his mansion the previous night.
As they exchanged bewildered glances, a voice announced "General Fu" requesting an urgent audience. The Emperor instructed Rong Le to hide behind a screen. The imposter, "General Fu," barged in, claiming the Imperial Observatory forecasted heavy rain and requested the Tiger Emblem to relocate the camp. The Emperor refused and tested him, mentioning a past tour of the Royal Garden. When the imposter falsely claimed to remember, the Emperor exposed him as a fraud.
The imposter immediately seized the Emperor by the throat. Outside, his soldiers knocked out Eunuch Chen and secured the camp. The imposter ordered a search for Rong Le, then threw the Emperor to the ground, boasting that all the officers were now his. When the Emperor, feeling weak, questioned what had been done to him, the imposter revealed he had been drugged with two herbs mixed into his meals. The Emperor demanded his true identity.
The imposter asked if the Emperor remembered chasing a child he believed to be Fu Yuan's son. He revealed that the name "Fu Chou" itself signified "vengeance" for that past. Enraged that the imposter addressed Fu Yuan by name, the Emperor deduced he was not her son but her eunuch, Lin Shen. With his identity exposed, Lin Shen forced poison into the Emperor’s mouth, retrieved the Tiger Emblem, and departed. Rong Le emerged from hiding.
The dying Emperor urged her to find Wu You and tell him everything. To create an opportunity for her escape, Eunuch Chen feigned an attempt to flee and was brutally killed. Rong Le disguised herself as a soldier and tried to leave with a cart of horse feed. She was stopped by guards, but just as they were about to inspect her, a report that Prince Fanyang had returned to camp provided a distraction, allowing her to slip away.
Prince Fanyang’s return was met with resistance, but he forced his way in. A general explained that the Emperor had ordered a lockdown to search for Rong Le, who had illicitly entered the camp and escaped. As they spoke, a cry of "Assassin!" echoed, and a black-clad figure burst from the Emperor’s tent. Prince Fanyang rushed inside to find the Emperor collapsed and spitting blood.
