Wu Yu suddenly became incredibly itchy after Ke'er, who had sprayed him with her newly invented poison powder, refused to give him the antidote. He chased her, demanding relief, but Ke'er suddenly collapsed. Rong Le and Xiao Sha arrived, and Wu Yu quickly explained that he had done nothing, and she had simply passed out. When Ke'er finally regained consciousness, it became clear there had been a misunderstanding. At Rong Le's insistence, Ke'er reluctantly provided the antidote to Wu Yu.

Rong Le asked Xiao Sha why Ke'er had fainted. Xiao Sha explained that Ke'er suffered from an incurable sickness, often collapsing without reason. This rare illness was so complex that even the Lone Frost Sage, Ke'er's master, had spent her life trying to find a cure, discovering a formula but failing to find one crucial herb: the Leaf of Seven Locutions.

Ke'er lightheartedly remarked that she was supposed to die at five years old, so every extra day was a blessing. Wu Yu, impressed by her acceptance of fate, told Rong Le that only Wu You knew the exact location of the Leaf of Seven Locutions. Unwilling to see Wu You herself, Rong Le asked Wu Yu to return an Inked-Jade Fan Wu You had previously given her.

Wu Yu was surprised, revealing that the fan was the highest symbol of the Hidden Ones, capable of deploying their elites and even overthrowing a kingdom. He suggested that if Wu You had given her such a precious item, he would surely give her the Leaf of Seven Locutions, even though it held special significance for him. Before the campaign against Wei, Ling Huang visited Lady Yun's tomb at Yun Mausoleum to pay his respects, praying for Northern Lin's victory.

He reflected on how he had been furious when Wu You had locked himself and Rong Le in the mausoleum for three days, fearing they disturbed Lady Yun's rest. However, he had since understood Wu You's actions, realizing he should be angry at his own lack of courage in the past. He confessed to Lady Yun that he felt helpless in alleviating Wu You's enduring pain and nightmarish memories.

Rong Le arrived at Yun Mausoleum looking for Wu You but was stopped by Captain Xiang, who informed her that Ling Huang was inside and no one could pass. She decided to wait outside. Inside, Wu You, touched by Ling Huang's heartfelt words to his mother, shared his own feelings. He spoke of his idyllic childhood memories: his mother teaching him gratitude, his father teaching him riding and archery, and his teacher guiding him in life.

He had believed the world was full of light until the Shilixiang Wine incident, when his mother was murdered and his teacher's family executed, plunging him into despair. Wu You recounted the tragic night: Ling Huang and Lady Yun were drinking Shilixiang Wine when Ling Huang suddenly suffered an agonizing headache. As Lady Yun tried to help him rest and call for a physician, the poisoned Ling Huang, mistaking her for Fu Yuan, pulled out a dagger and attacked her.

Wu You, who had come looking for his mother, witnessed her fall beneath his father. Ling Huang only regained consciousness upon hearing Wu You's desperate cries. This night became a lifelong nightmare for both of them.

Wu You admitted he had always blamed his father for never confronting his past actions, but after locking himself and Rong Le in the mausoleum and realizing he couldn't win her heart despite his efforts, he understood that loving someone doesn't guarantee a life together. He concluded that even a ruler has moments of helplessness, and perhaps he had no right to blame his father, just as the world had no right to judge his own past with Rong Le.

As Ling Huang emerged from Yun Mausoleum, he saw Rong Le waiting. He questioned her feelings for Wu You, asking why she married Fu Chou if she loved Wu You, and why she sought Wu You out again if she didn't. Rong Le struggled to answer, stating that her feelings were in the past. She explained that she sought Wu You's help for something urgent. Ling Huang then advised her to know her place and consider the bigger picture.

After Ling Huang departed, Rong Le entered the mausoleum. Wu You remarked that their last meeting there felt like a lifetime ago. Rong Le responded that there was no need to dwell on past events. Wu You asked her to pay her respects to his mother, and when Rong Le asked why he didn't question her reason for being there, he quietly said he didn't need to ask.

Rong Le tried to return the Inked-Jade Fan, but Wu You refused, then retrieved a box from a hidden compartment and gave it to her. Inside was the Leaf of Seven Locutions. Wu Yu later explained to Rong Le that this herb was originally used to cure a poison Wu You suffered as a child, with Lady Yun obtaining it with great difficulty. Ling Huang had been furious with Lady Yun for three months after hearing about it.

Wu Yu added that after half of the herb's fluid was used to cleanse the poison, the remaining half was preserved in the palace's ice chamber before Wu You placed it in his mother's tomb, as it represented her love for him and was her most precious belonging. Wu Yu concluded that now, Rong Le was the most precious person to Wu You.

Fu Chou, who had been listening from outside, was filled with anger and helplessness, recalling seeing Wu You give Rong Le a cloak at Yun Mausoleum. His shoulder wound was still bleeding, but the pain paled in comparison to his inner turmoil. Rong Le and Wu Yu were talking when Fu Chou suddenly appeared, surprising them. He claimed he was merely passing by and quickly left. Rong Le noticed the bloodstains on the ground, realizing he was injured.

Rong Le prepared the medicine for Ke'er using the Leaf of Seven Locutions as a key ingredient. Seeing her sister finally on the path to recovery, Xiao Sha was deeply grateful and swore eternal loyalty. Rong Le clarified that she didn't save Ke'er for repayment; she simply hoped Xiao Sha would uphold his loyalty, just as Long Yue had.

Rong Le's relationship with Fu Chou had grown increasingly cold since the attack by the lake, and she often envied Chen Yu's simple, carefree life. Recently, fragmented memories had begun to surface in her mind, seemingly reminding her that it was time to leave. Seeing her distress, Chen Yu offered to play the qin to soothe her. Rong Le also sent Ke'er to treat Fu Chou's shoulder wound, but Fu Chou refused to let Ke'er examine him.

Meanwhile, Yali visited the Empress, stating her intention to return to Qingzhou if her father's men arrived from the south. The Empress, however, urged her to take advantage of Ling Huang's good mood and finalize her marriage to Wu You, allowing her to stay in the capital.

Yali was reluctant, mentioning that she and Wu You had rarely met since Prince Zhenbei of Chen's marriage proposal, only once accompanying Rong Le to an inn where they were keeping Zhao Yun company. The Empress misinterpreted this, believing Wu You and Rong Le were secretly meeting at the inn. Enraged, she decided to go to the General's manor to confront Rong Le and ensure the relationship was severed.

As they were leaving, they encountered Ling Huang, who, overhearing their conversation, offered to accompany them to the General's manor. Upon their arrival at the General's manor, they found Rong Le and Chen Yu playing the qin. Fu Chou quickly came to greet the imperial party, deliberately displaying affection towards Rong Le. The Empress remarked that rumors of discord between Fu Chou and his wife seemed unfounded. Hearing the qin music, the Empress asked Rong Le to play a piece.

Rong Le politely declined, prompting Yali to offer to play and invite Fu Chou to accompany her. To conceal Fu Chou's shoulder injury, Rong Le quickly intervened, stating that Fu Chou's hands were meant for wielding swords and slaying enemies, not for mere entertainment. She offered to play alongside Yali instead of her husband.
