Pei Youyou was walking home when she saw colorful balloons floating into the sky, delighting the children nearby. Unbeknownst to her, these balloons were a silent birthday wish from Liu Tiannuo, who had arranged them after she declined his invitation to celebrate. He watched her from a distance, wishing her a happy birthday before quietly departing. Meanwhile, Yi Han and Han Di had dinner to celebrate their tenth anniversary.
Han Di playfully reminded him how quickly time had passed and teased him about tricking her ten years ago. Yi Han then presented her with a beautiful necklace. Han Di initially hesitated to accept such a precious gift but ultimately did, insisting on putting it on herself.
She also revealed that she was fully aware Pei Youyou had been making the breakfasts Yi Han claimed as his own for the past two weeks, a fact she hadn't exposed publicly to save his face. Han Di’s constant oversight led Yi Han to express frustration, saying she treated him like her son. Han Di, unphased, simply replied, "I am your mother." Pei Youyou returned home alone, pondering how Yi Han's dinner with Han Di might be going.
She made instant noodles for herself, reflecting that it was her birthday and she should at least have a bowl of longevity noodles. Elsewhere, Ran Zishu was on set filming and, to prove her diligence as an actress, requested an additional take for a rain scene. Lu Ming, seeing her efforts in the rain, gave her his jacket. She shared with him that she wasn't from a professional acting background and thus treasured every filming opportunity.
After catching a cold from the rain, Ran Zishu called Lu Ming, who arrived to find her unwell. After discussing taking a hot bath and drinking brown sugar water, he offered to take her to the hospital, but she insisted on staying in. While with Ran Zishu, Lu Ming received a phone call from Director Lin (Liu Tiannuo), who informed him it was Pei Youyou's birthday.
Lu Ming was surprised, as he knew her official ID stated a different date, and found it peculiar how attentive Director Lin was to his sister. Lu Ming then called Pei Youyou to wish her a happy birthday. Pei Youyou, wanting to maintain appearances, lied and claimed she was having French dinner with Yi Han.
Pei Youyou then noticed a female voice nearby Lu Ming, and before she could say more, Lu Ming quickly ended the call, promising to make it up with a present later. Pei Youyou, left wondering who Lu Ming was with, speculated if he was dating someone on set. At the same time, Han Di remarked on Yi Han's recent maturation since being with Pei Youyou, suggesting she was the cause.
Yi Han, however, denied this, insisting he hadn't changed for Pei Youyou. When Han Di mentioned it was Pei Youyou’s birthday, Yi Han initially questioned it, stating her ID showed a different date, but Han Di clarified that her ID had an uncorrected error. Yi Han then abruptly announced he had an urgent matter on set and left the dinner. Pei Youyou received a text message promising a surprise if she opened her door.
She found a bouquet of flowers with a card, bearing Yi Han's name and an address at Kangdong Road, No. 588, Snow Forest, B1 Floor. Believing it was Yi Han's thoughtful gesture, she eagerly prepared to leave. Meanwhile, Yi Han, who had ordered a birthday cake to be delivered before midnight, returned home to find Pei Youyou gone and the flowers.
He initially felt a pang of jealousy that she might have gone out with someone else, but upon seeing his name signed on the card and recalling hateful online comments about their relationship, he realized it was a trap. Panicked, he rushed out, calling Pei Youyou to warn her that he hadn't sent the card and to immediately return home. Before Pei Youyou could fully grasp the situation or respond, she was ambushed, her mouth covered, and pulled away.
Yi Han, hearing no further response on the phone, drove frantically to the Kangdong Road address. He found Pei Youyou's necklace on the ground, leading him to a locked room. Without hesitation, he broke through the door, finding a terrified and bound Pei Youyou. She instinctively collapsed into his arms, relieved and emotional. As they drove home, Pei Youyou, fearing Yi Han would scold her for her gullibility, confessed her stupidity.
Yi Han reassured her, emphasizing his concern for "his people" and his determination to find who was responsible. They discussed potential enemies; Pei Youyou suggested it was probably someone who liked Yi Han, recalling the constant online harassment she received since their public relationship, labeling her a "scheming girl" unworthy of him. Yi Han, however, believed keyboard warriors wouldn't resort to such actions, suspecting a more sinister plot with a tangible benefit for the perpetrator.
They reported the incident to the police, who opened a case. For her safety, Yi Han insisted his assistant, Haozi, drive Pei Youyou to and from work, a measure she initially resisted but ultimately accepted. Seeing how easily she was tricked, Yi Han teasingly asked if she had fallen in love with him, attributing her lapse in judgment to love.
Pei Youyou, flustered, evaded the question and countered, asking why he had left his tenth-anniversary dinner with Han Di to find her, implying he, too, might be in love. Later, Pei Youyou noticed Yi Han's injured arm, sustained from breaking down the door, and insisted he take a few days off from filming, expressing concern about action scenes being too much for him.
Yi Han playfully asked if she was worried about him, to which she retorted that she was only concerned about his ability to earn money if he couldn't work. Despite his earlier teasing, Yi Han genuinely celebrated Pei Youyou’s birthday that night. He presented her with a cake, fulfilling her wish to blow out candles, a tradition she hadn't observed since her mother's passing and her father's neglect. Pei Youyou was deeply moved, shedding tears of gratitude.
Yi Han, seeing her reaction, asked if she was touched, to which she feigned indifference, prompting him to humorously ask if she loved him more. He later reflected on the intense fear and helplessness he felt seeing her in danger, realizing he already had the answer to his lingering questions about his feelings for her. He hoped to celebrate her birthday with her every year.
The next morning, Lu Ming, having heard about the previous night's accident and Yi Han's injury, rushed to check on Pei Youyou, relieved to find her safe. Yi Han joked about the incident being a "white knight rescuing the beauty" moment, but Lu Ming dismissed the "beauty" part. Lu Ming also revealed that filming for the day had been adjusted because Ran Zishu had also fallen sick, suffering a 41-degree fever all night.
Pei Youyou was surprised, asking how he knew so much, to which Lu Ming admitted he had stayed by Ran Zishu's side all night. Pei Youyou questioned if he was alone with a girl all night. Meanwhile, Ran Zishu's agent admonished her for letting Lu Ming be seen leaving her room by the entire crew, despite Ran Zishu being delighted that her illness had "drastically accelerated the progress of their love."
Later, Pei Youyou confided in Yi Han, expressing concern that Ran Zishu seemed to have an "infatuation with men" and might be interested in Lu Ming. Yi Han, however, dismissed her concerns, stating that Ran Zishu wouldn't like Lu Ming because she was actually infatuated with him, Yi Han, having confessed to him previously, though he held no interest in her.
Qingqing, disappointed that the kidnapping failed to break Yi Han and Pei Youyou apart, confided in Gao Lang, who was the mastermind behind the previous plot. They decided to find a "vulnerable point." Qingqing then proposed that she and her colleagues visit Yi Han at his home under the pretense of checking on him, knowing Pei Youyou would be taking time off to care for him. Pei Youyou reluctantly agreed to the visit.
Fearing Yi Han's irritation with unexpected guests, Pei Youyou secretly arranged for his assistant, Dawei, to take him to the hospital and stall for as long as possible, even suggesting extra X-rays. Upon arriving at Yi Han's luxurious apartment, the colleagues were overly enthusiastic, touching valuable items like a purple sand teapot and a vinyl record, much to Pei Youyou's dismay, who tried to protect the items.
As it grew late and Yi Han still wasn't back, the manager suggested Pei Youyou cook for everyone while they waited. Seizing the opportunity, Qingqing encouraged some colleagues to "tour" Yi Han's bedroom, with the manager covering for them. Inside, Qingqing subtly photographed the room and, noting the absence of Pei Youyou's clothes, suspected they weren't living together. Her suspicions were confirmed when she found a "Dating Contract" hidden in a drawer.
