Yi Han seriously discussed marriage with Pei Youyou, promising to treat her well even if they didn't fulfill marital obligations. Pei Youyou, however, received an urgent message from Auntie Wang, reminding her that she had only a few hours left to pay for the house. Pei Youyou, preoccupied with this, asked Yi Han to drive her to Auntie Wang’s old house.

Yi Han felt frustrated that Pei Youyou was treating his proposal so lightly and merely saw him as a driver, especially when so many people yearned to meet him. Upon arriving at Auntie Wang's, Pei Youyou could only offer ¥30,000 and requested an extension for the remaining amount, even offering an IOU. Auntie Wang deemed it inappropriate to delay.

Disheartened, Pei Youyou returned to Yi Han's car and agreed to marry him, demanding a ¥100,000 betrothal gift, which she insisted she needed immediately and considered a loan she would repay after their divorce. Yi Han, upon learning she needed the money to buy a house, exited the car to negotiate with Auntie Wang himself. Shortly after, he returned with the house contract, informing Pei Youyou he had purchased the house.

Pei Youyou was furious to discover he had paid ¥1,280,000 for a house she could have bought for ¥1,000,000. She accused him of negotiating the price upward like an idiot. Yi Han clarified that Auntie Wang had mentioned another buyer offered ¥1,200,000, so he paid more to secure the deal, attributing his success to his charm. He offered to waive the extra ¥280,000, but Pei Youyou retorted that it was his "intelligence lesson fee" and she wouldn't be interested.

Auntie Wang, delighted, took a photo with Yi Han and posted it on social media, publicly confirming their relationship. Yi Han noted that this post was more effective than any press release, solidifying their status without needing to rush a real marriage. He then outlined the terms of their one-year contract relationship to Pei Youyou.

She was to cooperate with him on all media-related matters, go out with him once or twice a month with all expenses covered by him, and refrain from any actions that could damage his image, especially intimate interactions with other men. Pei Youyou found these terms acceptable, even easy. Unexpectedly, they both blurted out an additional, identical condition: that neither of them should ever fall in love with the other.

With Han Di's help, Yi Han and Pei Youyou finalized their fake dating agreement. Han Di added a crucial term: they must live together. Yi Han initially refused, stating his dislike for strangers in his home. Han Di countered that living together was essential to convince the public of their genuine relationship, especially with paparazzi surveillance around Yi Han's apartment and Pei Youyou’s nail salon. Pei Youyou, viewing it as simple room-sharing, had no objections.

Faced with Pei Youyou's alternative of an eight-year debt repayment plan, Yi Han reluctantly agreed to the living arrangement. Han Di then presented them with a fabricated romantic backstory, created by herself, Dawei, and Haozi, detailing how Pei Youyou supported Yi Han through his hardest times, which led to his love for her. She instructed them to memorize it for future media interviews and announced an unofficial engagement party by the seaside in three days.

The news of Yi Han and Pei Youyou buying a house together quickly spread, reaching the Inspire Nail Art salon. Qingqing was overcome with jealousy, questioning Yi Han's judgment in choosing Pei Youyou, whom she derisively called a "money slave." Meanwhile, Gao Lang approached Qingqing, observing her resentment, and offered her money, subtly encouraging her to help him expose Yi Han and Pei Youyou. Separately, Ran Zishu saw the news about Yi Han and Pei Youyou.

Annoyed that Pei Youyou had stood her up, Ran Zishu assumed it was due to her newfound connection with Yi Han. She then pressed her assistant to find the handsome man she had previously encountered, declaring him her first "love at first sight." Her assistant, accustomed to Ran Zishu's frequent claims of first love, simply agreed to her demands.

The news about Yi Han and Pei Youyou also caught the attention of Liu Tiannuo, the director who had replaced Yi Han, and the handsome overseas returnee whom Ran Zishu was so keen on finding. Following their public engagement announcement, Pei Youyou received a multitude of high-end gifts from Yi Han's friends. Being financially prudent, she had no intention of using them herself.

Instead, she planned to sell them to her colleagues at discounted prices, constantly strategizing ways to earn money to repay Yi Han and save for her house. The Inspire Nail Art salon manager and her colleagues skillfully crafted a heartwarming tale for the persistent reporters, depicting Pei Youyou's unwavering support for Yi Han during his early, struggling days.

This elaborate story successfully satisfied the reporters and sent them away, leaving Pei Youyou marveling at her colleagues' imagination but unable to reveal the truth. Out of caution, Yi Han instructed his assistant to install 360-degree surveillance cameras in all communal areas of his house, ensuring no blind spots. He also deliberately messed up the room prepared for Pei Youyou, intending to make her living arrangements difficult. His assistant began to clean it, but Yi Han swiftly stopped him.

Concurrently, Pei Youyou spoke with her current landlady, Auntie Wu, about terminating her lease. Auntie Wu, drawing from her own experience, advised against canceling the lease too hastily, suggesting Pei Youyou might need a place to return to if her relationship with Yi Han faced difficulties. Pei Youyou reassured her that she had bought a new house and believed in her strong relationship with Yi Han.

To secure the return of her deposit and remaining rent, Pei Youyou offered Auntie Wu an autographed photo of Yi Han for her granddaughter. Shortly after, Pei Youyou received a call from the wedding dress shop owner, who invited her to try on a wedding dress, under the mistaken impression that it was prepared specifically for her and Yi Han's wedding. Pei Youyou tried on the wedding dress, observing that she strongly resembled her mother in it.

The sales assistant noted the dress was custom-made and had been stored for two years, suggesting it was for Pei Youyou and Yi Han's wedding. Pei Youyou, however, understood that a dress prepared two years prior was likely for someone else Yi Han had loved. She attempted to change out of it, but the sales assistant pleaded with her to show it to the boss to avoid losing her monthly bonus. Out of kindness, Pei Youyou reluctantly complied.

When Yi Han arrived and saw Pei Youyou in the dress, he became enraged. He furiously demanded she take it off, even threatening to remove it himself, and sternly warned Xiao Lan not to meddle in his affairs. Yi Han took the wedding dress from the shop. Later, after Pei Youyou had moved into his home as scheduled, Han Di was discussing a contract with Yi Han, during which he accidentally saw a divorce agreement.

Yi Han immediately confessed his feelings to Han Di, but she rejected him, stating that he was merely a product she created for profit. Enraged, Yi Han stormed out of the house and threw the wedding dress into a river. Pei Youyou, who had witnessed the painful exchange, apologized to Han Di for appearing at such an inopportune moment.

Han Di, however, calmly reassured Pei Youyou that Yi Han would not go far and would surely return by 8:00 AM the next morning. The next morning, Yi Han returned home to find his room meticulously cleaned. He immediately confronted Pei Youyou, scolding her for touching his belongings. Later, he reviewed the surveillance footage, watching a small Pei Youyou diligently cleaning and organizing his messy room alone.

He then opened WeChat, briefly pausing over Han Di's contact, seemingly contemplating deleting it, but ultimately hesitated. Soon after, Pei Youyou's cooking noises woke Yi Han again. He ordered her to stop cooking due to the noise and offered to order takeout instead, which Pei Youyou happily accepted, knowing he would pay.
